What about those of us who must toil to keep this country from sinking in the mud?
I am a soldier stationed at Fort Bliss. We get up very early, work long nights and miss birthdays, anniversaries, without so much as a thank you from Obama & co. They spit on us. After all the talk about PTSD, brain injury and helping soldiers returning from the war, they don’t do squat. They want us to live like victims and live off or rather sponge off the system.
But we can’t just quit. You need us out there. You need us to get on the plane. Go down range and do what is right. Just like the doctors, police, fire and other workers who make this country run from day to day.
What about us? I now know how Batman felt at the end of “The Dark Knight”. As Gotham turned on him, the Joker (RIP Heath Ledger) remarked:
“See, their morals, their code: it’s a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They’re only as good as the world allows them to be. I’ll show you. When the chips are down, these, uh…civilized people, they’ll eat each other.”
As the world burns (Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan, Africa) We can’t just stand there just because some dumbasses on Wall St. goofed the flute.
