Many great posts. Ayn Rand wrote about some powerful, rational, truthful ideas. Although, for me, her ideas broke down when she tried to apply them to love/human relationships. I agree with many posters here that “Going John Gault” fully would be impractical or impossible but calm, rational moves in that direction seem like a good idea. Some the contrarian posts on here remind me of the character James Taggart, lashing out when their mooching natures are brought into sharp relief. I don’t think those people understand that most mature, rational people posting on this site would be compassionate/giving toward others. They just can’t understand how we object to the coercive, oppresive “shadow slavery” inherent in progressive taxation and socialist thinking. Anyway, thanks to many of the posters here for some enjoyable reading, from a kindred spirit.
