Greyhawk you have done a wonderful job of defining our bureaucratic ways. Only need a bit of fine tuning. You are wrong about this starting with LBJ,granted, he gave it a tremendous boost but the system started with Franklin Delano Roosevelt and was unconstitutional in its entirety.
As a farmer, I was robbed of my right to plant the crop of my choice since that choice was now government property. I was forbidden, in the name of fairness, from selling any farm crop that was now under government control. From this program we produced the food stamps so we could, in all fairness, distribute the “surplus” our government was buying and storing as a price fixing ploy that produces less and less till it can produce nothing at all.
So, yes, you are quite right in your assessment of the government bureaucracy. Just a little off on who was responsible.
Where did these notions see the light of day? The Russian Bolshevik Revolution is a good place to start looking. They were a violent bunch.
