The Palin t-shirt seems to readily come under the category of “fighting words”, as defined by the SCOTUS. Just uttering that prohibited racial epithet (no, not Paddy) can cause a legitimate (i.e. no criminal charges) fight.
Just in case anyone wishes to extend a learning moment to those so ignorant as to think that such an expression is protected….
