The only operations that were carried out prior to 14 May 1948 outside partition were those made to open the road to Jerusalem which was being strangled despite not being allocated to Arabs.

What UN resolutions? What utter crap.

Note also that three of the forces – the Iraqi, Egyptian and Jordanian – were armed, financed and trained by the British who were one of the superpowers at the time. In no way were they “thrown together”.
