The theory of Socialism often appeals to youth in general, but they realistically have no frame of reference as to how miserable it can become to actually have to live in a socialistic environment.
I know a man who immigrated from the former USSR. He now works for a major food chain. The one thing that impressed him the most when he first came to this country was how the public washrooms all had TP in them. He marveled at how people controlled themselves and didn’t walk off with it all. I guess I will never have to wait 3 hours in a line to pick up TP from the local commissary like he had to. All along hoping that the supply would not run out.
