Mark Steyn offered to contribute $1,000 to the sock puppets in order to finance their appeal of the Commission’s ruling. He wants them to appeal so as to get the case before a real court of law to make the argument that the HRCs violate the Charter Right to free speech. I doubt they will take him up on his generous offer. What they will do is continue their harassment. It costs them almost nothing and forces the defendents to spend enormous amounts of money on the cases. That alone will have a chilling effect on free speech. If writers and publishers have to factor in going bankrupt from such harassment they will cease to offend, except for a few brave souls.
