How about signing tax bills into law? Does that count? Jesus, this is like middle school stuff.
MJC, my observation related Presidential candidate hype and the Constitution, which delinates the job.
Barack Obama tries to buy you off saying he’ll change tax policy to stick it to the rich guy. It’s not his job, but the parameters of the Constitution don’t slow him down in promising you “stuff”.
“The rich guy” in America (the top 1% of earners) already pays about 40% of total federal taxes. Without the entrepreneur, we only have the deadening and “equalizing” socialism that you might think is really cool. Everyone could then be as mediocre as everyone else, just as the public schools have been working to bring about for decades.
This is a meaningless use of statistics.
Meaningless ? The bottom 50% of earners pays 3% of total federal taxes and their (already) minimal or nil contribution to federal taxes is “meaningless” ? Tell me what it is, exactly, that Obama promises people who pay very little or no federal taxes already ?
What it is that Barack Obama proposes to “rectify” on your behalf ?
Levelling the domestic playing field (according to his own personal, “community organizer” definition of “fairness”) is not the job of a United States President.
Are we there yet ?
