If you don’t know the provenance of the ideas you carry around in your head, what does it say about you?
Fred, you are a good man and a sound, solid, rational thinker. Look at who (what) you are talking to, and imagine trying to hold an intellectual conversation with them. Can you picture such an event in your mind?
The troubling thing about “the New Leftist” Fred…is not so much that he/she is a lemming. It’s not so much that they parrot leftist talking points. Hell, it’s not even that they engage in fomenting their handlers sophistry and deceit without a hint of conscience…it’s that they aren’t even worthy adversaries in an intellectual debate. They treat facts like plutonium. They treat integrity like refuse. They treat logic as cotton candy.
Anyone who honestly wants to learn something and discuss the issues, Fred…will simply see this as a spitball contest, because they lower the discussion to their level and then you are forced to play in their cesspool or ignore them…in either case they will spout empty rhetoric and claim victory. It’s a useless endeavor. I love reading your posts, and enjoy your style. Don’t waste your superior talents trying to fill empty vessels.
