This is an incredibly weak association. Palin’s husband was an Alaskan separatist (Alaskan Independence Party). That is much more un-American than someone who protested the US being involved in the Vietnam War (To jog the memories of some, we 1. lost the Vietnam war and 2. there were a lot of Vietnam protesters).
