I wonder if there isn’t another gigantic scandal lurking just under the surface:
“Misplaced” stimulus money, perhaps sitting in huge offshore accounts; $865 billion allows for a lot of margin for “spillage” that can easily hide hundreds of millions of dollars, even billions.
Does anyone remember when the Stimulus division’s web site “created” 440 new “Congressional districts” to which they “distributed” stimulus funds? They also made up a bunch of new Zip codes for the same distribution purpose. Was that gross incompetence or cavalier laziness, or was that a deliberate attempt at diverting money elsewhere, possibly to private accounts, or secretly to special interest groups, or both?
I’m perplexed that that whole thing has sunk beneath the waves, along with a whole bunch of other glaringly obvious trangressions by this administration and the past Democratic Congress. The list of genuine grievances against Obama and the Democrats is several times longer than those against King George in the Declaration of Independence.
