The best — the only competent — interviews with Sarah Palin were those that Larry Kudlow did months ago on one of THE most important subjects to voters: oil, natural gas and energy policy. Palin is an expert on these topics. Do you remember Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric asking her about them? No. They were playing gotcha politics so they could win kudos from their journalist buddies.

McCain is well-qualified to be Commander-In-Chief. Obama isn’t. Palin’s as VP would work on energy policy and government reform, areas in which she is expert. Can we expect questions on either from Ifill tonight? I doubt it.

Gwen Ifill is a hack who has been around forever. Hers is the only political talk show I don’t watch because it’s so boring. Will she ask questions about energy policy? I doubt it. She’s stubbornly holding on to her role as debate moderator from which, if she had any character, she would recluse herself because of a conflict of interest. Why? Well, not only because of the potential profits from her Obama book but because if she pleases “the one” he may give her a plum role in his new administration.

Ifill protests she hasn’t even written the Obama chapter in her book yet; however, she did do a gushing cover story on the Obama family for ESSENCE magazine.
