This is my second attempt to write a comment on this thread. When I was an undergraduate student at the University of Hawaii majoring in history, some of my professors wanted me to go for a Ph.D. I thank the providence of God that I didn’t educate myself to a higher level of unemployability, as my conservative views would have made it far more difficult to become a tenured full professor, no matter how hard I worked.
