Good point. Frank, Johnson and Raines for openers should have gone to jail or at least been humiltated instead Frank got re-elected, and Johnson and Raines became millionares with the blessing of such luminaries as the People of Massachusetts and Maxine “we’ll socialize you” Waters and most of the Democratic party.
A difference in the Fast/Furious incident is that the corruption in mortgagegate was so wide spread from government to the public sector there really wasn’t any place to get traction and congress was too busy covering there ass to indict anyone else.
Lots of people got killed with Fast and Furious and I believe it can be proven that this was not about drugs, but rather about a politcal issue i.e., gun control and it was entirely an inside job set up from the highest levels of current administration. This is absolutely a great comparison to watergate and Iran-contra. I’m not so sure it will be that easy to slither out of this one as Obama and his cronies have done up til now. Albeit, I think Obama is too good at shedding blame to personally end up in the jaws of justice.
Don’t know Mark, you may be right, but I’m thinking with enough investigation and a Special Prosecutor this thing should be able to get traction and at the minimum be a never ending annoyance and maybe more. If we could throw out Holder and a few of Obama’s cronies in the DOJ, ATF, Homeland, etc. it would be a great embarrassment/humiliation for him and one more nail in his re-election coffin. If it can keep Obama talking out of three sides of his mouth for the next year and a half that would be nice even if no one goes to jail.
