Wake up and stop drinking the kool-aid. No one is saying BO associated with Ayers back in the 60s. What they are saying is that in mid 90s when BO was in his mid 30s, and supposedly capable of rational judgement, he knowingly associated with an unrepentant terrorist. This was done as an adult, not as a child. The two worked together on a far left program of radical indoctrination for teachers and students. The goal of the program was the same goal that Ayers had in the 60s. To not see the relationship for what it was is to be a totally committed ideologue with no room for facts.
