Ah, but John McCain was in fact not born in the USA:

For the first eleven months of his life, he was literally stateless. He was naturalized by act of Congress. He’s constitutionally unqualified to be president. He knew he would have to deal with that, so he sought legal advice from two respected constitutional scholars (Laurence Tribe and Theodore Olson). Their opinion is in the above document, along with a thorough explanation of why it’s ignorant and wrong. McCain bought an opinion tailored to suit his needs. The scholarship of that opinion is shallow and meretricious. Read it, and the refutation of it by a law professor who deals with all the ramifications.

This “rumor” is pure fact, as you will see if you investigate. But it is a kind of ghost, a very inconvenient truth and a huge embarrassment. No judge would dare allow the issue to come anywhere near him. So we’ll all create an alternate reality, and in that make-believe universe, it will be a rumor.
