Successful talk radio formats that purportedly lean to the right provide that service. Venues such as Air America and MSNBC, on the other hand, rarely broadcast or engage diverse or dissenting opinions from conservatives except to ridicule and demean the opposition.

As a result, the American listening and viewing public, irrespective of their educational achievements, understands this and has given conservative talk and cable TV shows their high ratings.
