It’s hard to believe, in 2008, that some people really believe stuff like this. Get it through your head: it’s 2008, not 1968. George Wallace and Lester Maddox are gone. The largest cities south of the Mason Dixon have elected black mayors over the last 40 years, and white people have handled it just fine. Jim Crow is dead. The old South is dead. Nobody down here has threatened to start rioting, burning down cities, or lynching n*****s if Obama wins. On the other hand, there have been plenty of veiled threats and predictions from black and liberal commenters to the effect that violence will ensure if Obama loses. Apparently, liberals have lost confidence in their self-proclaimed intelligence and appreciation of reasoned debate. Guess those things only work when your side is winning.
