My ultimate point with the “Z list celebrity” thing is this: If I were to get upset about all the offensive, stupid things that unimportant celebrities said and did then I would have no time to sleep, eat, shave, dress myself, or live my life.
There’s no question she put her foot in her mouth big time. I’m not defending her. Instead, I’m questioning the proportion of the response.
Do we really need to elevate a Z list celebrity with no significant following or any real clout to the position of “official spokesperson of the left” just so we can slam liberals? That’s the definition of a straw man argument, and it’s silly.
We should just ignore her and move on with our lives.
A hundred bucks says she’s sitting at home, laughing at how much attention she’s getting. “I haven’t been this big since I was on Roseanne!”
