A certain congressman (Tom Davis of Virginia,
I believe) said something to the effect of,
“whites being able to relieve themselves of the
guilt of 400 years of oppression” by voting for
Obama.
Guilt? Who, me? I wasn’t around 400 years ago;
and I’m not Portuguese (it was the Portuguese
who first came up with the idea of enslaving
Africans to replace the Indians who had died
off on the sugar plantations, ect. in the New
World.)
Also, men wore TIGHTS back then. So, unless you
happen to meet a white guy of Portuguese extraction running around in tights today, you won’t meet any truly “guilty” white folks, sorry to say. (AND if “guilt” over the actions of tights-wearing men in the sixteenth century is enough to influence your vote in 2008, I must wonder some about your fitness to be a
voter..!)
