There was an episode of Batman where about five major villains were playing poker together, grousing about the time “I almost got ‘em”. The question brought up the image in my head.
Obama read the question as “Are you like George Bush?” It was worded that way. Bush is the prism through which democrats see most political discourse.
Hillary sees her opportunity and takes it. Hill vs Obama conflict is outside the Bush Prism, and gave the better answer to “Should you talk to dictators?”
By the way, does she know something Bill doesn’t? Yassar Arafat visited the White House an awful lot.
