The majority of Americans and an overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with Obama.
The spirit of the question was… “Bush-style” (lack of) diplomacy -or- traditional American engagement (even with bad guys).
Obama “got it” and beat Hillary over the head with it.
Glenn Greenwald at Salon has a good piece about how the media elite constantly label their own views as mainstream, centrist… funny how their conventional “wisdom” is often the opposite of the majority opinion in this country — as in the Hillary/Obama dust-up.
