I doesn’t seem to matter what we Jews do, we’ll always be vilified. In the pre-Israel days we were thought of as weak and cowardly, and it was our fault that we were killed because after all we went “like sheep to the slaughter”.
In spite of that remarkable poem, I think this is slander. We were powerless, no country, no weapons, no IDF to the rescue. What exactly were we suppose to do? And don’t tell me that husband’s weren’t butchered trying to protect their families because I don’t believe it!
Well, now, no one can say that we go like sheep! But we’re still vilified – you know all the slanders these days, so I won’t repeat them.
Much much better to be vilified because we’re strong, than the way it was before we recreated and rebuilt our state.
