If your wife is being raped and disemboweled there really should be an expectation that you will fight even if it means your death.
If the odds are so stacked against one, the wise and compassionate one will look to flee that oppressive place before such an event explodes and we can give credit to a lot of Jews in the Ukraine and Russia for doing that.
BTW, what happened to those Russian Jews wasn’t all that much different than what happened to American Blacks in some places.
