Except it’s not as simple as that. Russia repeatedly baited and goaded Georgia, hoping for the overreaction it got. Georgia should not have used aggression in South Ossetia, but this was not Russia’s fight. Nevertheless, Russia used the incident as an excuse to invade a sovereign territory.
