To add to my 1:52am post…

It’s true, Republicans should not focus solely on this offensive remark, lest they appear petty (…or, that they’ve allowed themselves to be “distracted”…ha!).

That said, politics – being that irrational thing it is sometimes – DOES also function on the “if it sticks, use it” principle.

With George Allen, I thought it was mainly the “macaca” thing that did him in…THEN, someone mentioned Allen’s citing “racy” excerpts from Webb’s (his then-opponent) book.

A sign of desperation. IT MAY HAVE BEEN JUST THIS SIGN OF DESPERATION that signaled the Dems to “go for the jugular”…as Republicans should do NOW.

Certainly NOT at the expense of “diverting attention” from Ayers/Woods Fund/Annenberg, Wright/Pfleger, Rezko or other such issues.

But if it “sticks”….
