Read Muslim commentators. The truth is that many Muslims do not speak Arabic. Prayers are by rote. They cnnot read Arabic writers themselves. The reality is that the violence and terror to non-Muslims is right in the DNA of Islam. It does go right back to the time of the Prophet, who in one of his first acts slaughtered all the men of a Jewish tribe and sold their women and children into slavery.
