“Showing contradictions” in a story may be halfway to “proving a fraud,” but the mere existence of contradictions is not, of itself, proof. And, if Shoebat’s backstory is, well, spongy, one nonetheless cannot fault him on his actual support for Israel.
Shoebat may be defending his “franchise” from competition, but his claims about Yousef’s Arabic statements and the nature of Yousef’s brand of Christianity can be independently checked by those with the proper familiarity of Arabic.
