As part of his public reconciliation with Israel, Obama for the first time in the almost 18 months since he became president just gave an interview to an Israeli TV station (this from the same American president who gave his first interview in office to Al-Arabiya — remember that ?). Speaking Wednesday to Israel’s Channel 2 News, Obama struck a friendly tone.

And yet, as if he can’t quite help himself, out comes this astonishingly crude remark. As reported in the New York Times, he was asked about “the anxiety of many Israelis who feel that he does not have a special bond with Israel.” Obama replied — get ready for it: “Some of it may just be the fact that my middle name is Hussein, and that creates suspicion.”

Come again? There are Americans who have wondered about that middle name, less because it is “Hussein” than because it has lived a strange life of its own, fading in and out depending on the audience – disappearing during Obama’s 2008 election campaign, reappearing during his outreach to the “Muslim world,” coming and going as if it mattered in some malleable way to Obama himself. Has he ever considered that public worry about his middle name might have more to do with the slippery nature of its use, and the too often disturbing policies of its owner, than with the name itself?

And for Obama to impute Israeli anxiety to his Cheshire Cat of a middle name is grossly dismissive and insulting to the Israelis. Does he really believe they are such bigots as to judge him — other things equal — by his middle name? Does he have any evidence for that? Or was he drawing on his own stereotype of Israelis? How exactly was he judging them, when he tossed out that remark?

I’ll venture a wild guess that the problem for Israelis is not Obama’s name — first, last, or middle — but his flim-flam fictions and negligence regarding too many hard and dangerous realities in the Middle East. Since becoming commander-in-chief of Israel’s most important ally, America, Obama has repeatedly bypassed or undermined Israel’s very real concerns about self-defense. He has been content to leave Israel in the impossible position of being constrained to wait upon his own feckless policy of apologies and “outreach” toward the “Muslim world,” while Iran races toward nuclear weapons and its leaders trumpet their desire to wipe Israel off the map, in concert with the goals of Iran’s terrorist allies Hamas and Hezbollah — bordering Israel out of Gaza and Lebanon.

Obama hasnt yet worked out that trust and respect is something one earns! Obama’s charm campaign is not only hard to swallow, it is so transparent in its attempt to gain back declining Jewish gelt for the flagging November Democratic campaigns. Obama wont visit Israel, his reception from the people of Israel could be embarassing both for the white house and the Israeli government. Give us a US President that can be trusted!!!!

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

For Obama its always someone else’s fault.

      • Fantom

Which is why I refer to the weasel as “Barrack Hussein (G-Damn America) O’ Blame-a “.

        • Bigfoot

It is interesting to find someone who calls Obama “the weasle”. I used that appellation, “Barack the Weasel”, extensively during the 2008 primaries and general election season. But once he got into office and it became apparent just how dangerous the man is, “weasle” seemed inadequete. I have thought of renaming him “the Wolf”, but that does him too much honor. “The Coyote” only confuses the issue as one of immigration malfeasance only. “The Mole” may be accurate, but it doesn’t carry the desired punch. There is a whole menagerie of names one could justifiably apply to the despicable specimen. “Barack the Snake” just does’nt sound as colorful as “Barack the Weasle”. Do you have any better ideas?

          • Loretta in Indiana

How about Barack the Octopus — spreading his Socialist tentacles into places where they should not go…

          • CGW

I’ve always referred to this post racial, post political, president exactly what he is according to dictionaries, economics texts, his campaign rhetoric and political history. A Marxist Magic Mulatto. Seems to square nicely with the past eighteen months of his administration.

If Victor Davis Hanson was President, things would be different. Join me?

          • JustJack

I like to use the word, ‘creature’. – A being of anomalous or uncertain aspect or nature. One that is the servile dependent or tool of another. Just take away his handlers and his telepromter, give him a little insult and let him run his mouth till he dries up.

  2. 2. Ken Besig Israel

As an Israeli American I get the feeling that since Barack Obama sees himself as super intelligent and super articulate, in his arrogance he pretty much holds everybody in contempt. However his animosity and hostility towards Jews and Israel seem to have a more personal component. This is probably due to the fact that during his childhood formative years, he was raised and educated in largely Moslem countries like Indonesia where the public and verbal demonization of Jews is routine and expressions of bitter loathing of Israel is commonplace.
Obama’s has behaved in a hateful and despicable manner toward Israel, the Jewish People, and our leaders. Obama has aligned himself and his administration with American Jews like JStreet who dislike of Israel is almost as great as his own.
Thankfully, most Israeli Jews, including our leadership, recognize what Barack Obama represents and distrust and dislike him accordingly.
Even more importantly, more and more American Jews who once blindly supported Barack Obama and the Democrat Party, both with their votes and their money, now see Barack Obama for the enemy of Israel he is. They also realize that the Democrat Party is a home for many radically anti Semitic Black American leaders and groups like the New Black Panthers, as well as for some of the worst Left wing haters of Israel they could ever meet.
We used to say that Hitler would die on a Jewish Holiday, that is, any day he died would be celebrated as a Jewish Holiday.
If he keeps on the way he is going, Barack Obama, whose crimes against Israel hardly hold a candle to Hitler’s, might soon find himself the butt of a similar joke.

      Ken Besig: well said!

The article was OK till page two; then it got politically correct and just out to lunch.

I believe your characterization, Ken, is exactly correct.

For Hussain to suggest his middle name is “it”, and talk about his gang of “self hating”; what an arrogant out to lunch…denial… out of touch with realty…

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

Maybe its got something to do with his choice of spiritual mentor for himself, his wife and his children.

    • ked5

It’s been my impression most American Jews are leftist-liberals to whom progressivism is more important than religion. I’ve read far to many quotes from asorted American Jews who condem Israel for “its treatment of the palestinians”. Only when these leftist-first american jews-in-name-only start to feel their pockets and lives are threatend will they look beyond the superficial veneer that has been so carefully crafted.

E.g. barbara streisand has come about against him at some elitist meeting in Aspen (shocking, she was so in love with the guy), however it is purely about the state of her bank account under his fiscal policies.

      • Menachem Ben Yakov

        Old saying from the 60s-

        ” A liberal is a conservative who hasn’t been mugged. “

      • LaneyB

ked5 has no grasp, or only what the MSM tells him, of how American Jews think. Barbra Streisand is hardly a typical representative of American Jewry. Yes, Jews historically have been in sympathy with the downtrodden and the oppressed. Gee, I wonder why that might be? But like all Americans with any ounce of sense they, or should I say “we”,” see someone who exhibits every characteristic of Antisemitism and call it what it is. Yes, most Jews have been late to the party. Is it because we were blind, incapable of labeling a Democrat as a Jew-hater? Probably so. Those of us conservative leaning Jews warned them, but they were naive. They will be more vigilant in the future because the overwhelming majority bask in the glory of Israel’s accomplishments and know that should Antisemitism rise here, Israel has to take us in. It’s our tribe, after all, and we’re all related.

    • Abdul Kareema Wheat

BaddaBing! This is a “man’…Obama who sat in the pews of a racist, Jew hating, black nationalist movement for 20 years. Include his muslim time in indonesia…and what do you get? Something I think he mutters under his breath every day…like shabazz makik…whatever his disgusting name is….It’s dem Jooooos!

  3. 3. J.J. Sefton

I don’t want to judge without all the facts, but it seems pretty clear that the Israelis acted stupidly.

  4. 4. ehunter

Israel’s #1 problem isnt Barrack Obama. Israel’s #1 problem is American
Jews..who voted for Obama 4 to 1 and will vote for some version
of Barrack Obama right up to the moment that the USA and Israel finally collapse. So lets quit worrying about Barrack Hussein Obama, and lets get back to enjoying our favorite Jewish owned media outlet, whether the New York Times or CBS, or Bloomberg, or Disney, or Warner or Viacom or Random House. Lets start looking foward to the next episode of “multicultural”, “post national” “post racial”, “diverse” and “tolerant” America which these liberal
Jewish run organizations will ram down our throats just as they did the
candidacy of Barrack Hussein Obama. After all we dont have much time left
The liberal agenda of mass immigration and cultural memory loss is entering
its terminal phase. The old traditional white middle class “racist” intolerant
America is dwindling to a demographic minority, and with its demise
will be the demise of small, “racist” country on the other side of the globe.

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

Stop blaming Jews for Obama. We make up less than 1% of the electorate.

      • Ken Besig Israel

Of course you are right about the 1% but that Jewish 1% still contributes 40% of all major contributions to the Democrat Party, that is over $25,000 and up per individual Jew.
That is the only reason the Democrat Party and Obama himself tolerate the Jews and Israel at all.

      • ehunter

Jews make up 2% of the population but 60% of Hollywood and the Media.
Barack Obama is a media created, media driven phantasm. Beyond Obama the public
discourse and the norms of reality for the average person is all
created by the Media a. So the 2% of the vote figure is rather meaningless. Beyond the Media Far Left from David Axelrod to George Soros to Leon Trotsky has been largely a Jewish utopian daydream. I say this without out
hint of malice. There are conservative Jews, humble God fearing people..but
they are few and far between. Its up to these Jews to confront those Jews
behind the Media Machine, because its the liberal media machine and political
machine that will destroy Israel. Not us goyim

        • Menachem Ben Yakov

ehunter, I never considered your comments malicious just unreasonable. For instance while Jews make up 2% of the population I have never found a claim that 100% of Jews vote. After all there are many Jews under voting age and some that simply do not vote. A fifty percent figure is pretty high for any group and that is the general consensus.

” There are conservative Jews, humble God fearing people.. but they are few and far between.”
You paint with a brush far to broad. In fact the numbers I have seen indicate that the more a Jew identifies with Judaism the more likely to hold conservative views. And as the growth of the observant Jewish population is concerned it is the largest of any Jewish community.

” Its up to these Jews to confront those Jews behind the Media Machine, because its the liberal media machine and political
machine that will destroy Israel. ”

The ” media machine ” is driven by finance not morals. In that sense its a business like any other. Expecting them to hold a higher moral standard is a waste of time. When and if the pendulum swings the other way I expect the result will be a more wholesome product. They are in the business of giving people what they want.

As far as the destruction of Israel ( G-d forbid! ) is concerned that simply will not happen. I have a 4000 year history to look back on and that provides tremendous insight. I am not trying to be arrogant and I hope you forgive me if it comes off like that. Not since Sinai has The Almighty been as apparent as He is today. That the world is blind is insignificant.

      • David Stein

When you identify with this kind of ilk, this is your return

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

” New York Times or CBS, or Bloomberg, or Disney, or Warner or Viacom or Random House…. ”

All but one, public companies that don’t poll the religion of stockholders. What makes them ” Jewish “?

    • Larry in the Silicon

Without contesting that many liberal Jews do contribute to these things, stop blaming the minority for what is a willful cultural choice by millions of Americans. Stop blaming Jews for what Gentile politicians do.

Liberal Jews in any case are attempting to conform to a ‘lifestyle’ and cultural norms that – in their eyes – are a ticket to successful assimilation. Apart from that, the public eagerly gobbles up the junk that you say all emanates from ‘Jewish companies.’

If Jews are all liberal idiots, what explains Krauthammer, Kristol, Pipes and all the neocons said to ‘control’ Bush-Cheney. Oh, wait, the liberals who blame all of Bush’s policies on the Jews think exactly as you do…

      • ehunter

The operative word here is “choice”. What choice? The mass public who
watches a supposedly “real” TV news cast that in truth has
been heavily sensationalizes and edited for a specific propaganda purpose
has no idea of what is happening. He has no context. After watching
“news” program, he reads a edited newspaper, a heavily promoted best seller
and a blockbuster movie..and the poor slob heres the same lies from
all sides…until he has no point of reference to know otherwise. There is
no “choice” involved. And the result of this mass manipulation is
a braindead populace..just the kind of group to actually accept that a
race baiting Chicago hack politician is the messiah. To say that this
state of affairs is a matter of free choice is itself an indoctrinated response.

        • frank grimes

there is plenty of free and accessible quality information out there for anyone who wants it.

any source of news will be biased in some fashion.

if people wish to be WILLFULLY ignorant of what is taking place all around them, then they deserve what they get.

      • Ken Besig Israel

Yes we Jews as a group are quite small in number, but our influence far exceeds our numbers especially in the news media, Hollywood, banking, the legal and medical professions, and yes, in the area of Liberal, not to say radical Leftist politics.
Jews as a group are usually financially better off than the non Jewish population, and Jews, with our rich religious history of tzedakah, charitable giving, routinely use our good financial fortune to help other Jews, but non Jewish causes as well.
Indeed, last year a survey was done regarding the top 10% of Jewish philanthropists, the real “heavy hitters” and it was found that well over half of them gave most if not all of their substantial charitable donations to non Jewish causes, and only a small fraction, if any to Jewish causes or to Israel.
This is why the American Jewish community is so important to the Democrat Party, not for our plainly rather small voting numbers or our willingness to volunteer to answer phones, hand out leaflets, etc, but the fact that wealthy Liberal Jews can always be counted on to throw huge amounts of money to the Democrats.

        • Menachem Ben Yakov

” Most American Jews sincerely believe that their liberalism, together with their commitment to the Democratic Party as its main political vehicle, stems from the teachings of Judaism and reflects the heritage of “Jewish values.” But if this theory were valid, the Orthodox would be the most liberal sector of the Jewish community. After all, it is they who are most familiar with the Jewish religious tradition and who shape their lives around its commandments.

Yet the Orthodox enclaves are the only Jewish neighborhoods where Republican candidates get any votes to speak of. Even more telling is that on every single cultural issue, the Orthodox oppose the politically correct liberal positions taken by most other American Jews precisely because these positions conflict with Jewish law. To cite just a few examples: Jewish law permits abortion only to protect the life of the mother; it forbids sex between men; and it prohibits suicide (except when the only alternatives are forced conversion or incest).

The upshot is that in virtually every instance of a clash between Jewish law and contemporary liberalism, it is the liberal creed that prevails for most American Jews. Which is to say that for them, liberalism has become more than a political outlook. It has for all practical purposes superseded Judaism and become a religion in its own right. And to the dogmas and commandments of this religion they give the kind of steadfast devotion their forefathers gave to the religion of the Hebrew Bible. For many, moving to the right is invested with much the same horror their forefathers felt about conversion to Christianity.

All this applies most fully to Jews who are Jewish only in an ethnic sense. Indeed, many such secular Jews, when asked how they would define “a good Jew,” reply that it is equivalent to being a good liberal.”

          http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203440104574402591116901498.html

          • ahad ha'amoratsim

” But if this theory were valid, the Orthodox would be the most liberal sector of the Jewish community. After all, it is they who are most familiar with the Jewish religious tradition and who shape their lives around its commandments” But Menachem, he did not say that most American Jews are correct in their belief, only that they believe it. Many assimilated Jews think they know more about Jewish values than Orthodox Jews do. Look at the nonsense over the supposed ethical hechsher Magen-whatever that anti-Orthodox activists are pushing. Look at the way that political liberals have hijacked the term Tikun Olam –used by Chazal to describe decrees intended to facilitate commerce and by the Zohar to describe the effect that observing Mizvos exerts on creation — to mean instead “supporting the policies of the DNC and left wing advocacy groups”. And when you tell them what the term really means, they ask who the heck are you to think you can dictate the term’s meaning? Look at the leader of the Reform movement who said that it is not a sin to commit a particular act that the Torah calls abomination but rather it is a sin to say that the act is a sin. No, the comment unfortunately is true — because of our long exile they have not had the opportunity to know better, but sadly many American Jews DO believe that their political choices are based on Jewish tradition, even when those choices (e.g. SSM, unrestricted abortion, pacifism) are flatly contrary to tradition.

        • Larry in the Silicon

I understand, Ken. I also understand how this group of Jews has now been defined by politically conservative Jews and Evangelicals and pro-Israeli people of all kinds as a major contributor to Israel’s problems. I have mixed feelings on that one. I tend to agree with Adina’s position, which seems to be that ‘they don’t know what they are doing and ultimately they are hurting themselves.’ I come from a very liberal family and understand the syndrome from up close.

Nonetheless, these people do not ‘make American policy.’ Menachem wrote that ehunter’s comment was not malicious. Perhaps not, but is a huge generalization that does not address Israel’s real political-strategic difficulties. Here I believe that I share Adina and Terry’s thoughts. From what you write, I do not see willingness to accept that Israeli leaders cooked up Oslo. Peres and Beilin broke the law to do so, and Rabin went along. Rabin ended up dead, nobody knows exactly how or by whom, Bibi tried to hold the fort and ultimately failed, partly due to his own character flaws at the time. Ehud Barak came along and did severe damage; now it is true that Bill Clinton manipulated him, but this was all known in Israel and were it not for the al Aqsa Intifada disaster – which was attempted genocide by the Pals against Israel – Barak may have lingered on for a while. Sharon, again, attempted to stop up the dike, but then he too succumbed to pressure, to greed, and to the urge to protect his own against criminal prosecution. That brought us ‘Disengagement’, which put a big hole in Israeli society yet to heal.

Olmert followed Sharon. The Kadima Party is the legacy of Sharon’s dictatorial policies and his refusal to honor the wishes of his Likud supporters, who brought him to office. The expulsion from Gaza had severely anti-democratic overtones. Finally, the second Ehud is gone and we have Bibi.

I truly hope that he is everything that those who praise him say he is, and I truly hope that we figure out a way to reform the political system in Israel in the future.

      • ked5

This isn’t about “blaming” leftist-liberal american jews for obummers ascension (though don’t delude yourself, they had a big hand in it as they had a big stage on which to preach to the unwashed masses). this is about out the fact leftist-liberal american jews do. not. care. about. Israel.

iow – stop deluding yourself that they do, and that they’ll stop supporting the democrates.

    • David Stein

It doesn’t take long to find an anyi semite in the right wing camp. You woudl make david Duke proud. Those jews having a love affair with the Chirstian right should watch their backs. I trust them as muhc as i trust the far left

      • MarkTheGreat

You are right that it doesn’t take long to find an anti-semite, and 99% of the time that anti-semite is a liberal troll. You for example.

        • David Stein

Buster Brown you are barking up the wrong tree. Get into and IDF uniform and then come back and address me.

      • michiganruth

with all due respect, that’s just not true. support for Israel is something like 66% among Republicans, far lower among Democrats. and David Duke, seriously? tell you what: you can name one famous “rightwing” hater from 30 years ago, and I’ll name William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, JStreet, James Jones (he of the “al-Quds” loving), Susan Rice, Samantha Power, most of the NYT editorial staff…stop me when I mention a right-winger, ok?

evangelical (and other) Christians are the best friends Israel has in America right now. I’ve never understood the hostility my Jewish brothers and sisters seem to hold for Christians, but it’s really counterproductive.

        • Menachem Ben Yakov

Ahad, sorry it took so long to reply to your excellent comment. I just wanted to say thanks. MBY

I tend to agree with david about the christian right and so we should be very careful indeed even though some of them do support us still one has to be very careful as in the end they may yet turn on us once yet again

  5. 5. So Sorry Failure

Ms. Rosett is very close to the truth where she writes, “Perhaps it’s Obama himself who’s been paying too much attention to his own middle name —”

Think a moment about the follow-up shows on people who win one of those huge lottery jackpots. After a year, or so the “unexpected” fortune totally ruins and wipes out the winner’s lives. Simply put, they were not prepared to deal with the massive change to their lives.

Obama is an insecure man that in his wildest dreams never expected to be elected President of the United States. The whole election thing was like buying a $2.00 lottery ticket that paid off with the largest jackpot in history. He wasn’t prepared or trained to deal with what happened. Better than anyone else on Earth Mr. Obama knows that he doesn’t have what it takes to do the job.

Alas, for the first time in his life Mr. Obama isn’t able to come up with stereotypical slick-mouth blame and excuses that puts the monkey on someone else’s shoulders.

Now enter center stage the middle name “Hussein” and a lifetime of intense feel-sorry-for-me I am black Islamic, then morphed into the Black Liberation Theology bastardized Christianity hatred of America, Caucasians and Jews.

The man is a total failure.

Israel should never trust Mr. Obama.

America should get rid of him as soon as possible.

  6. Isn’t it the last resort of a scoundrel to blame their behavior on the victim. We used to do it with rape victims too, the victim was dressed inappopriately. Racists blamed the African-American community for their racist ignorance and anti-semites blame the Jew for being different for their anti-semitism. But I guess this is a new one, that Jews don’t like someone because of a name. Obama never takes responsibility for anything. We have an overgrown adolescent in the oval office, not a grown-up who knows how to accept responsibility and function on an appropriate adult level.

  7. 7. jvon

Coming from a guy who spoke of “typical white people”, can making ignorant inferences about the motivations of a bunch of people halfway around the world really come as a surprise? This is a man who appears to seriously believe that anyone who disagrees with him has a problem with the color of his skin. (And has convinced many of his followers of this as well.)

  8. 8. David Stein

I don’t know of any American president who has given a full interview on Israeli TV. I watched the interview and he addressed Israelis anxieties and its demographic challenges. He also suggested that an Israeli hardliner such as Bibi might be more able to seek peace that an Israeli dove, because it would be more cognizant of security concerns.

    • Toronto Girl

Netanyahu is hardly a “hard-liner”. That is a myth created and purpetrated by the leftist media. Ariel Sharon and Rechavam Zeevi were far more right-of-center than Netanyahu. Bibi talks a good talk, but in the end, he will go with the mainstream flow.

      • David Stein

Hint: as long as he remains alligned with Likud, he will be a hard liner..

        • MarkTheGreat

Is your mind really and truely that simple?

Then again, you’ve declared that anyone of a European heritage is an anti-semite merely because there is a history of anti-semitism in Europe.

          • David Stein

Sorry Mark, as a self appointed, grandiose super Zionist, you may understand that that a Likud member cannot escape from being hard line

          • MarkTheGreat

Yup, your mind really is that simple. Explains why you are a liberal and an anti-semite.

    • ked5

piece of advice. do. not. trust. his. words.

as the saying goes (and is completely apropos in this) – actions speak far louder than words. watch what he does, forget about what he says.

  9. 9. Tom H/Tx

(I am temp living in Tel Aviv) I was at a very nice restaurant in Ramat Aviv the other night, and the O’s name came up, and these israelis just started laughing and laughing, so I don’t think the name Hussein is the problem

  10. 10. David Levavi

Obama is merely projecting his own shallowness and racial prejudice on his betters.

Similarly, this spoiled and clueless adolescent compares Republicans and their policies to a teenager who has driven Dad’s car into a ditch.

Call him Hussein, Barry or Barack, this malevolent child’s election was a grotesque error. He’s wildly unqualified for the job and the sooner we see the back of him the better.

  11. 11. Lynn

Would a rose by any other name smell as sweet? Yes, and I think a President by any other name would cause consternation if he/she gave the same signals to Israel that this President has done before and after his election. Don’t forget the thorns.

  12. 12. Eeyore

Israelis should judge Burak on his first name, not his middle. He was named after the fictional animal that Mohamed made up one day, a winged horse that Mohamed pretended took him from Arabia to Jerusalem where he preached to the Jews. In essence, Burak’s (The proper spelling) first name is indeed a symbol of the ambition of Islam to take control of Israel. So I would be far more concerned about that than ‘Saddam’.

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

Brilliant point and one that I have never heard made prior. Kudos!

  13. Netanyahu knows a traitor when he sees one.

    • Snake Plissken

While necessarily demonstrating statesman-like behavior, Netanyahu should’ve told Barry to pound sand after the shabby treatment he was given last time.

  14. 14. ahem

It’s the jackboots, stupid! Obama is a marxist–that’s all it is. That’s all it ever has been.

J.J.Sefton: It’s pretty stupid to judge without all the facts.

  15. 15. skeeziks

Evidence? You mean other than the last two years of blanket judgment in the right wing media based on his middle name?

    • You got evidence of that “blanket judgment,” O Troll Of Many Names, or is that just the Official Organizing For America Talking Point For The Day?

Heh, Heh, who needs evidence when the truth can be manipulated to appear as if the tiny nation of Israel surrounded by the very large Islamic World is the problem and obstacle to peace. People can’t find Israel on a world map because it’s so small, yet it looms large in the eyes of those obsessed with helping Muslims feel good about themselves.

    • MarkTheGreat

Like most liberals, Skeeziks sees what he is told to see.

      • skeeziks

        See this:

        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dht9LGyqBSE

There, I offered both sides, your side (the gymnastic, pathetic, dissembling side) and my side (the honest, reasonable and right side). Any questions?

PS: How’s that brain stem functioning this morning?

        • Okay, that’s one.

That hardly covers two years, or the entire media.

          Where’s the rest?

Or, are you extrapolating a trend from one single example?

          • skeeziks

They’re all over. You can find as many as you want in, say, 30 seconds.

          • MarkTheGreat

I’m sure that is what you have been trained to believe.

          • In that case, you should have no problem posting an exhaustive list, Skeez.

You made the claim, it’s incumbent upon you to prove it, not for me to prove it for you.

          • Still waiting, Skeez. That’s an awfully long 30 seconds, you know.

In fact, it’s been so long that I think I will declare that it’s been clearly shown that you have none of the evidence you claimed to have, and that you’ve been proven to be a lying lefty… again!

Maybe someday you’ll learn what the rest of us learned in elementary school: Don’t make claims you can’t back up.

          • skeeziks

I DID back it up. You want more? Do your own work. That’s something I learned in gradeschool. Apparently, you didn’t. Conservatives are just plain lazy. Always claiming that somebody else hasn’t done enough for them . . . “That’s only onnnnneeee liiiiiink, I want moooooore. And I want a sodypop, And I want Milk Duds. And I want a balsa wood plane. And I want a cheeeeeeeeesburger.”)

Grow up, take some responsibility, and contribute, ya whiney ass losers.

        • Bear

His name is irrelevant as are you. Once a Muslim always a muslim.

        • Menachem Ben Yakov

Skeez, You make it sound like he lost the election.

        • MarkTheGreat

          Point one.
          You??? Honest??? Reasonable??? Right???????
I guess that there’s always a chance for you to get one of those once. But it wasn’t this time.

I love the way you find a single person that you claim is a right winger, and instantly this one person becomes every right winger.

You know, when anybody else pulls a stunt like that, it’s called bigotry.

Let’s try this on for size:

A ———- person raped someone. Therefore all ———– are rapists.
A ———- person committed armed robbery. Therefore all ———- are crooks.

          • Hmmm… let me try that.

A liberal icon, Al Gore, apparently committed adultery with a masseuse. Therefore all liberals are adulterers.

Joe Biden, a Democrat, committed plagiarism. Therefore all Democrats are plagiarists.

Democrat James Traficant was convicted of bribery, racketeering, and tax evasion. Therefore all Democrats are crooks.

How’s that work out for you, Skeez? I could continue this all week…

          • MarkTheGreat

“I could continue this all week…”

            Why not. He will.

  17. 17. Joe

What has happened is that Obama’s handlers are trying to get him to “fix” things with the American Jewish Community, as well as Israel. If everyone is fooled by this, well, “fool” is the operative word. He wants money for his next election!

    • Snake Plissken

It’s the same ploy he’s using to try and mollify the Hispanic community with his suit against Arizona, all the while blaming a lack of movement on “comprehensive immigration reform” on the lack of appetite for it in Congress. He knows damn well he has nothing to lose by appearing to be the champion of the Hispanics while not actually having to do anything, in the hopes of gaining back some of the falling approval from that segment. If he wins the lawsuit, he gets cred. If he loses, he can shrug and say he tried.

  18. 18. Larry in the Silicon

It is an absurd, dismissive and projective comment on his part. Most Israelis are pretty familiar with Muslim names and many interact frequently with about one million Muslims who are Israeli citizens. The average American notices and reacts to Muslim names more quickly than do Israelis. What the President wanted to say was, ‘You guys like my magic show, right. I have a big smile, so please erase 18 months of my efforts to wreck your security. Thank you, and have a good day.’

    • Terry, Eilat - Israel

      Larry.

Even if his middle name was Moses, it doesn’t change a thing. He takes us for fools & while we certainly have a few fools among us, I think most Jews realize that this has to do with Jewish support for Democrats in the upcoming election. Many non-Jewish Americans are upset with his policies re: Israel as well.
Anyway, I don’t give a damn about Obama, I’m more concerned with our own PM Netanyahu.

      • Larry in the Silicon

In full agreement. Bibi is talking like Rabin again. What this really means – I do not know. All of life is a bunch of mysteries, layers, lies and truths buried somewhere underneath.

Se how easy that is? Want proof? This site.

substitute liberal for conservative. ideologues are ideologues. The latter tends toward caution, the former towards conceit.

      • MarkTheGreat

As usual, skeeziks demonstrates that liberals are both evil and stupid. Especially stupid.

“One of the core tenets of conservatism, is that everyone who isn’t a conservative, is evil, stupid, or both.”

No, not everyone. Just those who have a history of consistently making statements that are evil, stupid, or both, and have never demonstrated the least capacity for sound moral or logical judgment. I can’t speak for every conservative, but I feel the same way about any conservative who has a history of consistently making statements that are evil, stupid, or both, and has never demonstrated the least capacity for sound moral or logical judgment. Willis Carto comes to mind, for one. You and he would probably get along well.

would someone please petition Wikipedia to fix Obamas name so that every-time Spell Check picks it up,
it doesn’t underline it in Red.

I think that is the real problem.

  21. 21. Poor Citizen

Like most democrats (and most Republicans), this President is firmly committed to a strong Israel. The bad news is that both parties are joined with Israel at the hip for fear of the Jewish influence (and votes) that the U.S. is viewed as a puppet of the Israeli government firmly against Palestinian justice. Obama, like his Republican predessessor is keenly aware of this (along with the rest of the world) and is trying to be a bit more neutral so that there can be a way forward with regard to the two state solution. Will it work? no, but given the past failures, anything is worth a try. Good article, thanks.

  22. 22. Hershl

Obama seems obsesses with forcing Israel to just behave.

However, bigger things are on the horizon.

There may be another war on our steps.

Hizbollah, the Iranian-financed Party of God that occupies Southern Lebanon along the Israeli border, is once again preparing for a massive war with Israel. This was revealed by Israel intelligence yesterday.

The details of Iranian money and involvement in this terrorist group whose avowed aim is the extermination of the Jewish state and Islamization, Iran-style, of all of Lebanon, is astounding.

When will we wake up to the Iranian threat which daily is heading in our direction?

  23. 23. Snake Plissken

“Obama is an insecure man that in his wildest dreams never expected to be elected President of the United States.

Obama isn’t able to come up with stereotypical slick-mouth blame and excuses that puts the monkey on someone else’s shoulders.”

    Very well articulated.

  24. 24. tanstaafl

And for Obama to impute Israeli anxiety to his Cheshire Cat of a middle name is grossly dismissive and insulting to the Israelis…I’ll venture a wild guess that the problem for Israelis is not Obama’s name — first, last, or middle — but his flim-flam fictions and negligence regarding too many hard and dangerous realities in the Middle East.

    Indeed.

Far more important than the One’s middle is Israel’s (correct) perception that this President is not exactly reliable when it comes to affirmation and continuance of America’s longstanding support for Israel.

And, having snubbed Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in May, Obama recovered his manners during a meeting this week.

A few weeks back, a large preponderance of US Senators sent Obama a declaration of America’s support for Israel, even signed by some congenital leftists like Al Franken, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and Roland Burris.

The Hussein thing is typical Barack, as the One thinks everything revolves around him, see…

    C. Krauthammer’s insights into Obama’s pessimism towards America juxtaposed to his adulation of Self

  25. 25. Arie Maron

Basically he’s trying to convince us with the same tactic that got him elected, “If you don’t love me that’s proof that you are an evil racist”.

  26. 26. Allie F.

Isn’t his LEGAL name: Barry Soetoro?????? I wonder if that makes his “election” a total fraud!!!!!! Has anyone discovered how he has a CT social security number?

Funny, Obama/Soetoro didn’t want his middle name used prior to the election….now it is so prominent? More lies and fraud from our delusional, psycho president.

  27. 27. Lauren

Well this just says it all doesn’t it? Since a million Israelis are Muslim Arabs, I guess he specifically meant that the Jews are suspicious because of his middle name.

This exemplifies perfectly his fundamental lack of understanding of the relationship between Jews and Arabs. It’s perfectly acceptable (assumed even) in the Arab world to hate Jews. We in Israel do not hate Arabs (or Muslims), nor is it politically correct here to be suspicious of someone because of his father’s religion.
We’re a modern democracy – apparently in some ways much more modern than the US… or at least Bibi would never be so obtuse as to accuse Americans of being suspicious of a leader because his father was Jewish. Sheesh.

  28. 28. ked5

this guy grew up a race-hating, religion-hating bigot. He admits he chose muslims and radicals ONLY as friends. He admits he hates his mother’s white race since he was a teenager.

He is so warped, yes, he probably really does believe Israeli’s hate him becuase of his middle name. Muslimss are taught by their imams to hate jews and every other religion (his treatment of christian WH traditions is telling), and he’s muslim – and attended madrassa’s as a child. Blacks are taught by black race whores to hate whites in this country, and he hates whites.

  29. 29. CR

Saint Barry’s obsession with his middle name completely betrays his utter ignorance (and/or contempt) for the entire region. One of Israel’s closest secret allies in the latter decades of last century was King Hussein bin Talal of Jordan. So, if anything, the name “Hussein” should conjure up some sort of close friendship in the average Israeli “Yossi’s” mind.

another thing we really like is when a democratic country beats a belligerent, much larger non democratic country’s ass-even better when it’s multiple countries at a time.

Well, what baffles me is all the attention paid to Barack Obama’s *middle* name. His FIRST name is just as Arabic, and just as Muslim, as his second name. “baraka” is the Arabic root for “blessing.” It may be a trivial point, but do people really imagine that “Barack” is an English name?? :-(

Obama, and other Alinsky types, use words not to convey meaning but to generate a reaction from the audience. By O telling others that Jewish opposition is due to his name, he’s provoking an overreaction from the listeners. “try harder to prove you are fair.”

O is also indicating he doesn’t think any of his opponents’ resistance is due to substance. Their arguments aren’t even worth of notice or a response from The One.

Whether its’ because O is still an only child raised to think he is a Prince, and we are all just waiting to serve him, or if you think he’s unaware of all the clear history of the modern world, or if you finally understand he is a radical student of radical teachers with a radical plan, it’s is time to face the truth and not jump to a more comfortable conclusion.

  45. 45. Mr. Lucky

Notice how The Con Man has perked up lately? This is a perfect fit for Liar Con Man methodology.

The fact that The Principal Liar sleazits Persons Galore has been exposed in no uncertain terms has precipitated a DefCon Modern Liberal Code Yellow Poseur Alert. This is a pattern that repeats itself faithfully. This is nothing new.

The absolute manic rage and frustration surfaces because the one thing the Con Man cannot tolerate has happened. Irrefutable proof that it is a Liar, and the realization that the community at large that the Con Man inhabits knows this on a widespread basis. The Con is over. The “carefully crafted” strategy for attention has become a negative in its own mind. The “snare” of its own making is clamped shut.

The tone of desperation is quite noticeable, and the quantity of posts has increased beyond any reasonable level. It will do anything up to and including the feel sorry for me please whining 1st Amendment rights violation rap, racism, bigoted, homophobic, misogynist etc. comments, posting as the “racist conservative”, posting as a “conservative” criticizing other conservatives, and posting the assumption that it will be shortly banned from another PJM blog. Tears!

Please, I’m not a Liar. Please stop. I liked it before I was outed. Look, over there, there’s a rainbow! I made it too! Me!

The Con Man preemption misdirection is in “full flower”. The Liar Game has come home to roost. Self respect is non-existent.

There is no way out at this point. So with nothing to lose, no “standing” a total PJM ban would come as a relief. Any post it can produce which puts distance between the agony of being outed, and the mythical happy go lucky Liar Universe is acceptable. The use of the word truth is prevalent, as if mouthing it will magically make the lies go away.

There really is no need to reply to the Con Man in a political manner. Pity?

Note that it will go so far in desperate deflection to post the number of times it has posted, emphasizing, of course, with self congratulatory recognition that that is a major accomplishment. This illustrates its purpose in a way that leaves no room for any other explanation. The Principal Liar sleazits is letting the world know that it has given up on any notion that it may indeed have an honest persona to present.

    Kicks away!

    Whatever.

    • Larry in the Silicon

Great posts on the matter, Mr. Lucky. I believe Skeeze is teetering on the seesaw at the moment, deciding between ratcheting up the level of assault and going quietly into that dark night, with owls and things hooting in the background.

    • skeeziks

Yeah, I knew you’d miss me. What can I say, I’m a generous man and willing to serve as he who defines your day.So, I’ve been wondering all these days what exactly you were so certain of, Missed Her Lucky, now I know, I have used more than one name! Well, I’ve spoken to this many times before -identified for you the ones I have used and the ones I have not. So, with that stipulation already documented for months, you perhaps need a more contemporary obsession. I’d like to help.

Take my lead . . . For example, I long ago established that your feet have come loose from their moorings – morbid obsession with other people’s phrases, your fascination with scat, your overcompensating for a clear lack of achievement, your fascination with the “friendlier” side of animals. But I have moved on, you see, to establishing that you are actually an alien of your own sort . . . the extraterrestrial sort. I’m convinced you’re a replicant – a slightly askew assemblage of conservative programming, mis-matched socks, and a diet of thumbtacks and Mountain Dew – sent here to recruit like-minded drones who are also loose about the joints between mind and body. (I know, I’m really good.)
Larry from Silicone Cleavage, this is where you come in. Don’t throw in with the Lucky one. Hitch your wagon to a lofty star, not a swaybacked mule of a mentor. I know, I’ve beaten you down pretty bad recently by pointing out all those hifalutin principles that contradict what you actually say. but that’s just what I do. Don’t take it personally. Learn from it. Grow from it. There are dozens of you people I’ve forced into the corners of undeniable truth, isn’t that right, Brain Stem? Don’t worry, just like everybody else here (except, of course, Mr. Lucky) you are anonymous.

BTW, what a weekend!? What’d you guys do? Did you get George Takey’s autograph at the Star Trek convention?

I think Obama throws crap out, intending it to have multiples meanings/messages. Remember, he is always politicking, and always sniffing for votes.

    1) are we supposed to feel sorry for him?
    2) are we supposed to glorify him?
    3) are we pro-muslim?
    4) are we anti-semite?
    5) are we aware that people use this “middle name” against him?
    6) are we aware that people use this “middle name” in support of him?
    7) will this distract voters away from his utter and complete failure?
    8) is Obama aware of all of the above (answer = yes)

Remember, he thinks he is a “canvas” that people will use however they desire.

    I say burn the canvas.

It doesn’t matter now if jews vote for or support Obama any more. God knows him as an Israel and jew hater. God says in Genesis 12:3 ” I will bless them that bless thee(Israel-jews) and curse them(America-any politician)that curse thee.”

  52. 52. tanstaafl

Barry conscientiously, even assiduously, de-emphasized his middle name during his (nearly 2 year long) campaign.

But once he took office, baby, (remember, he insisted on Hussein being reinstated for the Oath of Office?) it became like the singlemost defining characteristic of his being, a point d’appui on which to legitimize his Muslim credentials, a device for the community organizer complainer to complain why “they” don’t like him, and, really, as such, an extension of his race baiting tendencies.

That vaunted “Hussein”, yet another reason for Barack, quite preciously, to draw attention to himself…

I see his most recent claim referencing Israel and Hussein as exactly what it is on the surface, without deeper meaning or clever use of words to “provoke overreaction” as Scott M writes.

Nice writing above Mr. Lucky, but I humbly submit that the skeeziks will never perceive himself as outed, chagrined, shown his place, whatever. Idiotlogues change their stripes about as often as tigers do.

Not nearly as much suspicion as is created when you run across the room to shake hands with Hugo Chvez (aka Iran’s best buddy), when you bow down to the Saudi King like a supplicant, when you disrepect Israel’s leaders, and when you sing the usual lefty tune about how the dirty Joooooooz shouldn’t be building houses in the West Bank…I’ll warrant.

If the Israelis don’t care for our so-called president that’s just evidence that they have brains in their heads.

As long as BHO (PBUH) continues to peddle the propaganda that Abbas and Fatah are moderate, and an honest description of what is going on communicates this: http://www.worldthreats.com/?p=2754 it is wise for Israel to treat the current occupant of the Oval Office as an Amalekite.

Since January 2009 when Obama took office, now 18 months into his term, how many terrorist plots have occurred inside America, on our own turf? Does Major Hasan and the Ft. Hood massacre, the underwear bomber on Christmas Day and the Times Square bomber of May 2010 ring a bell?

How many terrorist bombings did America suffer through during GW Bush’s 8-year presidency? One = 9/11. After that, Bush brought the fight to the terrorists’ own backyard to prevent the terrorists from fighting in our homeland.

What is Obama doing to protect the homeland?? How safe are we really with Obama as the president? This guy is sleeping on the job. Vote him out in November 2012, and let’s also defeat his buddy, Harry Reid, this November.

Vote for a strong, secure and unapologetically EXCEPTIONAL America!

  59. Obama’s middle name may have caused some initial suspicion but it was his job to dispel that by acting in Israel’s best interests, something he has so far failed to do.

The really frightening thing is that maybe Obama does believe that any opposition to him comes solely from racism.

What race is he, by the way?

    • Cybergeezer

Yea; He’s half white, so he can switch whenever he wants to fit the occasion.

    Talking about names :-)
Israel had good relations with the late King Hussein of Jordan but many Israelis are suspicious about Barak. Ehud Barak (Labor party leader) and Aharon Barak (former Supreme Court judge).

  62. “Does he really believe they are such bigots as to judge him — other things equal — by his middle name? Does he have any evidence for that? Or was he drawing on his own stereotype of Israelis? How exactly was he judging them, when he tossed out that remark?”

    - Yes. If you disagree with him it can only be because you’re a bigot, stupid, or both.

    - No, he doesn’t need any because he’s ObamaMessiah

    - Maybe

    - He wasn’t judging them as just revealing his own arrogance.

What if a guy called, let me see, Adolph B Hirohito had run for US President in 1942? What? It’s just a name…racist! Do you think that would be just a bit, sort of, weird? And what if they couldn’t actually find the birth certificate of President Hirohito? And what if young Adolph had grown up Shinto/Fascist/Nazi, but had converted later, even though there is no record of Adolph Hirohito’s Testament (the reason I’m changing religions is…). And what if the entire American Media had, uncharacteristically, thrown 100 percent of their weight behind Mr Hirohito? That wouldn’t strike you as odd? Maybe people use his middle name so much because they just can’t believe that the American people would actually vote Adolph B Hirohito into office in 1942, and they’re just saying, “HELLO!”
