Letters of Israel’s Ambassador to the UN Security Council
August 29, 2012
Another day. Another rocket. Not one word from the Security Council.

August 31, 2012
While Israel’s schoolchildren were taking cover in bomb shelters, the UN released yet another biased report about Gaza… How many more rockets must fall on the children of Israel before the Security Council utters a syllable?
************
As I write this letter, Hamas terrorists are firing deadly rockets into the heart of Southern Israel. In just the past day, more than 70 rockets have been launched… Life is paralyzed for one million Israelis. Parents cannot go to work — and children are not going to school.
Hamas deliberately provoked this escalation. Yesterday it detonated a bomb on Israel’s border with Gaza, severely injuring an Israeli officer. It is time for the world to take note: Hamas is determined to murder Israelis and escalate conflict in our already very turbulent region.
I call on you — and all the other Security Council members — to condemn Hamas terrorism without equivocation or delay. Hamas and other terrorists in our region will interpret the silence of the Security Council as a green light for terror and provocation.

As I write this letter, rockets are flying into Israeli communities without pause. In the past two days, Hamas and other terrorists in Gaza have fired more than 150 rockets into our homes, schools, and cities…
The serious danger of an even greater escalation hangs over our very volatile region. Many Israeli civilians and soldiers have been injured. Damage to property has been significant…
The time for the Security Council to condemn Hamas terrorism with one voice is now, before it is too late.
The Palestinian leadership also has a fundamental responsibility to clearly condemn Hamas terrorism. The silence that continues to echo from President Abbas’ office speaks volumes.
***********
The Security Council did nothing.
On November 14, Israel killed Hamas military commander Ahmed al-Jabari, and launched Operation Pillar of Defense against the terrorists operating in Gaza.

The failure of the UN is quite understandable but what substantive steps have Obama and Clinton taken to address this head on as it unfolded? Why do they always pussyfoot around real problems and gush a lot of meaningless words about both sides needing to be responsible? Where is there real leadership?
Leadership? From this administration? Make me laugh.
And this is why Israel’s leaders are MANDATED to ignore them, as well as Washington’s dictates, via the Islamist-in-Chief. Besides, Israel’s leaders have a sworn duty to protect their citizens, international mischief makers be damned. They dare not hew to whatever pressure is exerted!
And for the latest update from the war/home front – /2012/11/21/ceasedeath-fire-or-not-will-israels-leave-bow-to-the-islamist-in-chiefs-dictates-the-jury-is-out-commentary-by-adina-kutnicki/
NOTHING less will suffice! We are the ones on the front lines!
All of this diplomatic charade is just being used by Hamas to break up the mommentum of the Israeli operation and increase pressure on Israel. Now they are using Clinton’s ill timed visit as cover to expand the terror campaign with a bus bombing in Tel Aviv today.
Hamas will stop when they have been defeated and not before.
The UN continues to be about as useful as mammary glands on a boar hog. Ditto Obama & Clinton.
“The UN continues to be about as useful as mammary glands on a boar hog.”
Are you kidding me? For once they are quiet, saying nothing about Israel. It is a manner the Arab League is basically green-lighting Israel’s attack on Hamas. However, Barack’s need to show his choice to move the Mus. Brotherhood into power in Egypt was a good and useful move trumped what, as liberals call it, “what the world thinks.”
Hamas didn’t even thank Egypt, but Iran for its victory.
The UN is a Club for retired or incompetent diplomats, exclusive those from G7 to G20. It is an international chatter house, today particularly to give 3rd world countries an air of importance and inclusiveness.
The UN is a shame, and I wonder why the West hasn’t stopped financing it since a long time, or at least attempted to better and change the rules. The West is also rotten, and directly the UN can serve some of West’s interests and strategies.
The UN is a breeding ground for islamo terrorists and rogue nations worldwide and it is based right here in the U.S. which makes us participants in the destruction of freedom and the annilation of Israel.
That said, I request the Prime Minister of Israel to unleash its arsenal on nuclear weapons on every country that continuies to attack them. Just make sure the wind is blowing in the right direction Bibi.
The Isrealis need to finish this once and for all. Go through and pacify Gaza. Lock up every fighting age male-then go house to house and remove every single firearm in the country, destroy all structures housing rockets-including hospitals.
Keep Hamas operatives captive as POW’s, let the rest go. Build a tent city in the middle of the desert like Arpio, and feed these guys MRE’s, with one hot meal a day.
Lets get serious!! Do not listen to the US for a change.
This American and non-Jew gives his full support to Israel. As far as I am concerned Israel can move back into Gaza and kick the Palestinians out – they can move to Egypt or Jordon or Iran for all I care (though they should reimburse the Gazans for their land). The UN is a waste. I hope that if we ever have the chance to elect a conservative as President he/she will cut off all funding for the UN. You are either for or against the savages.
Retake the Philadelphi Corridor… w/o boots on the ground. Go in, destroy the tunnels and sow mines throught the corridor. Fly drones overhead to police the corridor. Declare it to be a no man’s land. Use sensors to detect any new tunnelling underneath. Come in ONLY when you need to destroy them. Stop the flow of arms through tunnels and only let in, overland, non-military materiel. Let them import to be fed but starve them from rearming. They can prosper if the chose. If not, they can go to hell.
This reminds me of the old days when Egypt, Syria, etc. tried to create another Holocaust in Israel (four times!). As long as Israel was in danger, not a peep. When Israel mamanged to fight back, the calls for a cease-fire erupted.
Worse, because of fears of the USSR, the US would not let Israel ever win a decisive victory. So they had to wait for the next attempted holocaust.
The rockets have been landing for years. The UN, EU, et al paid no attention.
Now Israel (Jews) fight back and everyone notices. Everyone (well, not the USA) now screams, protect those poor Palestinian civilians. Who of course are only threatened because of terrorist acts.
Enough is enough. No ceasefire until they beg for mercy!
I’ve never been this angry in my life!

Because the Security Council has failed to respond to, much less condemn, the rocket fire from Gaza into Southern Israel these many months, Israel hereby announces it’s withdrawal from the U.N. We also give notice that any Palestinian civilians that wish to leave have 24 hours before Gaza is leveled and turned into a parking lot.
That should be the next letter.
WE should leave the UN too. in fact, without America’s largess, the UN wouldn’t last a week. we provide fully 1/4 of their funding, and we give them some nice real estate in Manhattan to boot. I can’t understand why, since they exist to bash Israel and ignore us.
“Behold a nation that dwells alone and among the peoples it will not be included.”
That’s a blessing, by the way, from an Arab.
There is an article a friend showed me in their local paper, “Wear keffiyeh for support” (“The Torch” November 21 2012). Some of the article indicated that those behind the campaign to wear keffiyeh this coming Friday want to show their support for the freedom of Gazans. It also reported that the onslaught began earlier this month after a Palestinian boy was shot dead by armed Israeli forces while playing soccer. Then Hamas retaliated and fired rockets into Israel. Several days later Hamas’ chief negotiator was killed, and an all-out war followed.

It is on Page 5.
From this article we can see that asking the UN for help is about as successful as asking Democrats for help from Benghazi !
Israel should recognize Gaza as a country, then, the next very next time a rocket or mortar is fired from their territory, issue a declaration of war. Then, fight to win. Period.
For all practical purposes, this is what we are doing. Except the last part.
Why is this man wasting his time. It would be like Czechoslovakia complaining to the League of Nations that Hitler intends to attack them. It would be like Jews complaining to the Vichy government that Jews are being shipped to concentration camps. The UN is in bed with terrorists! To the UN, a thousand dead Jews is a “legitimate response to Zionist oppression” while a Palestinian with a hangnail is a crime against humanity!
We need it for ourselves, and for our allies in the US. Otherwise, the MSM drumbeat gets so loud that we start to doubt ourselves. I know this happened to me during the First Lebanese War (a very similar situation to today, and much more successful), and now I don’t even understand what the issue was.
(Before that war, they had been shelling Nahariya. Do you know what civil defense gives as the warning time for Nahariya? ZERO.)
Claudia, from what I have been able to find out, you are rooting for the wrong team.
Here’s a taster, a vid by the son of a Jewish general.
