Instructing Iran in Terrorist Etiquette

January 15th, 2014 - 1:34 am

Actually, as far as Zarif was concerned, laying an enormous wreath on the grave of Mugniyah was almost certainly the right message, and the decision to send it was no disembodied slip of etiquette. Zarif is a cosmopolitan fellow, a veteran Iranian diplomat who lived for years in the U.S. and served from 2002-2007 as Iran’s ambassador in New York to the United Nations. Surely he knew exactly what he was doing, as did his masters in Tehran. The message he sent was a threatening insult to the U.S., and a de facto statement that whatever Iran’s regime might be discussing in Geneva, it stands by its terrorists. As for exacerbating tensions in the region, Iran’s regime has been more than happy to do that for decades, as long as it works to Tehran’s benefit — thus has Iran spawned and supported the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, armed the Palestinian terrorists of Hamas, salted Iraq and Afghanistan with IEDs, sent its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the aid of Syria’s beleaguered tyrant Bashar Assad, and threatened to wipe Israel off the map.

The question isn’t whether Zarif’s homage to Mugniyah sent the wrong message. The question is, apart from the clerical endeavor of labeling it as wrong, what’s the U.S. going to do about it?

The issue, with all due respect, is what the Iranian raised Jarrett and her sock puppets Obama and Kerry are NOT going to do about it.

Jay Smarmy will announce that it's not what they do, it's what they say...er...um it's not what they say...no, wait...it's not what they say or do that counts, it's what WE say they will do. Yep, that's the ticket.

The Senate has some other ideas about where to lay some additional wreaths, but Obama visited his office recently, between campaigning, golfing, vacationing and hiding. He found it came equipped with a pen and a phone. And a shredder marked "Put Constitution Here".

Iran has said out loud, consistently and repeatedly...it has NO intention of giving up its nuclear weapons program. Period.

Obama and Kerry and Hagel and Jarrett want to give them six months and bags of money to get a good head start, in case they don't mean it.

That dog won't hunt. But all Obama and Kerry are saying is
Give fleas a chance.

Perhaps State and White House simply couldn't give this Iranian act the attention it deserved as they were so distracted and "outraged" that an Israeli Defense Minister candidly, in private, said what he really thought about John Kerry and his peace push. I mean, the folks in Washington were besides themselves over the "insult", formulating a demand for a public apology, and a "distancing" of the Prime Minister from his sentiments. I mean, next to the Israeli offense of privately disparaging the US SoS, publicly honoring someone responsible for killing hundreds of Americans just doesn't rate.

Surely that's a rhetorical question. The answer is, "nothing."

Ms. Rosett claims that Obama running interference for Iran is remarkable? Really? Obama feels more in tune with Tehran and the Mullahs that run it than he does with this country. There is nothing remarkable in Obama supporting the terrorists in Iran (or in the muslim brotherhood or hamas or hezbollah).

Okay, I thought the same thing initially, however, she said it was "remarkable", not "surprising".

Remarkable - worthy of a remark (or statement). The behavior was certainly worthy of being called out. But all the remarks in the world won't amount to more than some localized naval gazing.

Reagan got crap for visiting a German graveyard that contained some Nazis. There was a Japanese prime minister who got crap for visiting a Japanese graveyard containing some Japanese WWII war criminals. There are good arguments on both sides for visiting and snubbing.

But this is intentionally honoring someone who has been active in the current West vs. Islam war (and yes, the current war goes back to the 1980s.) We cannot do business with these people.

The only part I don't get is that for the longest time, the US has been bought and paid for by the Saudi Wahhabis.

And when a president who FAVORS Islam in the war between Dar Al-Harb and Dar Al-Islam comes into power, he gives the finger to THEM and sides with the Twelver Shi'ites in Tehran.

What is it about Barack the Sun King and his circle of fiends that attracted them towards Shi'a over Sunni?

...what’s the U.S. going to do about it?

Not to let the current doofi off the hook but we've done little to nothing for forty years. Have any substantial policies been proposed anywhere?

Exactly right. The "current doofi" and his enablers are only amplifying the establishment position on the current Iran regime for the past several decades.

Establishment Baron Gates is a good example. As SECDEF he loved to demonstrate his solidarity w/the troops and announces how he wants to be buried with the fallen from OIF/OEF in Arlington. Yet what did he do as SECDEF to hit back at all, much less hit back hard, against the IRGC for furnishing the EFPs which were killing our troops?
