How could Barack Obama expose his kids week after week, year after year, to the teachings of Reverend Wright? It turns out that among Obama’s kitchen klatch of radical Chicago friends, it’s not unusual for God-damn-America activism to be a family affair. Thus do we find Bill Ayers in a father-son act, touting the Bolivarian revolution of Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez. Thus do we find that the Ayers-Khalidi connection runs on from aging radicals to their expensively educated, “young activist” kids. Andy McCarthy and I began following some of the threads. Here’s our article, on NRO, “In Obama’s Hyde Park, It’s All in the Family.”
It’s a scene that could leave you wondering what’s in store if Obama gets his dream of enrolling legions of American youth in “community service” in exchange for a college education. What, exactly, would they be taught? And whose idea of “community” would they be serving?

That was a really good article, Claudia. Thanks, nnd thank Andrew.
Claudia, I find it upsetting that a reporter of your talent has stooped to writing such smear articles. Any journalist who says the words “Ayers-Khalidi” is not to be taken seriously. Your left wing opponents would just as soon start in with Keating. This mudslinging nonsense is not what our election should be about.
Ignore Jack Straw–his will not be the last pro-Obama tisk-tisk administered in order to posture in the pose that “there’s nothing and nobody here but us anti-America subversives.”
Ignore them. What I think we’re headed for in the near-to-middle future is the realization that the split between Obama supporters and those who didn’t vote for him will yawn with greater and greater clarity. Are we in for Civil War Two, where the antagonists will not be the American people vs. the Obama administration, but rather one part of the population versus the other? One has to reach back to the transition phase between election 1860, Lincoln’s election, and April, 1861 to get anything like the massive political split that’s on the table today. Radosh on this Pajama outfit is already into the “benefit of the doubt” dance, just like those who tried to mend a union already broken beyond mending during the time between Lincoln’s election and his inauguration.
I think this is so much worse than anyone who did not vote for Obama could possibly have imagined. And part of my reason for thinking so is the terminal blindness of those who did vote for him. They are already defending him, not so much because they believe in him as rather because they need to validate their vote. Much effort should be put into causing the scales to drop from their eyes.
The massive youth organizing should be a wake-up slap in the face. He’s looking to organize a huge youth movement dedicated to voting Obama up four years from now. I tell you, Obama is a the greatest threat to this country since the USSR mounted its ICBMs, and it’s all the more dangerous in that it is masquerading behind an FDR song-and-dance. Over at Belmont Club someone has noted some websites delivering the info that the an Obama administration will withhold federal funds from schools that do not comply. Haven’t yet checked that out, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
Be afraid, be very afraid.
For “Jack Straw”: this is so far beyond “mudslinging” (the Keating reference is good for a giggle) that I see you just can’t climb high enough to see over the edge of the world. Obama “SMEARED”?? Are you serious? Obama is the enemy, and all the more dangerous that the American people put him in position to do massive damage to this country. It’s as if the American people had elected Jefferson Davis as president not of the mythical “CSA” but of America.
You can answer this as you please, but I tell you before-hand, I won’t respond. Have no interest in “dialoguing” with people like you. The question on that score is how long it will take for the people of this country to recognize that the break between Obama suppporters and those who oppose him is beyond repair.
