Or perhaps there is a confluence of the two — there’s quite a debate going on right now about which comes first, the sloppy thinking or the willful misleading. For a masterful treatment of both, this would be a good moment to pull up, yet again, George Orwell’s “Politics and the English Language.” In that brilliant essay, written in 1946, Orwell warned that there is a vicious spiral to these things: The English language “becomes ugly and inaccurate because our thoughts are foolish,” and then “the slovenliness of our language makes it easier for us to have foolish thoughts.”

The truth of Orwell’s observation has been richly displayed this past year, as the Obama administration has tried to euphemize away a global war of Islamists trying to take down free societies.

If you’re an average Joe planning to take a plane, it’s a good bet you’re a tad worried that a Muslim terrorist might try to kill you en route. If you’re a high-ranking security official in the Obama administration, entrusted with spending billions to ensure the safety of America, you are constrained to fret that despite U.S. efforts to bring “an end” to “Overseas Contingency Operations,” there is still a risk that an “isolated extremist” might “allegedly” attempt to bring about a “man-caused disaster.” (In which case, the “suspect,” if caught, will be treated as a common criminal, read his Miranda rights, provided with the best available medical care if needed, and offered a stage in a U.S. court).

When polysyllabic fuzz is the lingo — and mindset — of the “system,” it’s hard to see how the result can be anything but repeated “systemic failure.” At some point, and probably sooner rather than later, that “systemic failure” will open the gate for a “man-caused disaster” of proportions that will force Obama to interrupt even a beach vacation for an immediate address to an American public that will by that stage be massively stricken, grieving, outraged and demanding real answers. Right now, the administration is emitting squid ink about “investigations” and “accountability.” When does Obama, with all his vaunted eloquence, wake up to the reality that to honor his twice-taken presidential oath, he needs to think and speak in plain English about how to win this alleged man-(or-woman)-caused systemic contingency war?

This needed saying, and bears repeating until those who bought the spin realize that actions speak louder than words.

  2. 2. Tcobb

To the world view of Obama and his ilk, all one needs for world peace is universal health care and the right level of foreign assistance to the poorer countries of the world. All of the world is Chicago. The other countries are merely wards or districts that can be bought off.

It is totally beyond Obama’s comprehension that there are people who cannot be bought off, people who will not compromise on their agendas. Its kind of like a retarded rat that cannot understand that the snake before him doesn’t care about being groomed, it just wants to eat him, and being groomed by a rat has no value to the snake at all.

I have witnessed Obama obviously lie on so many topics and on so many occasions, that I wondered what on earth could be going through his head?

Could he be so fantastically naive, or so out of touch with reality, that he actually believes what he says?

Or does he think we are all so jaw- droppingly stupid and ignorant that we can’t tell the difference?

I am not sure I will ever know. The only thing I do know is that it is extremely inappropriate for someone like him to be in a position of power.

  4. Enjoy flying the Obama-airlines…

Things are getting quite peculiar these days. The Obama-security (CIA, TSA, FBI) failed to prevent a moslem terrorist from a nearly fatal attempt to blow up an airplane full of passengers. Notice that it’s not like the guy was f*king inconspicuous. In order to enumerate all the obvious signs which should have raised suspicions, I was required to make a long numbered list since I could not fit everything into one sentence. Each of the points in the list should have been enough to get this man an extra pat on the groin at the airport, and yet, he was allowed to promenade through all the security details as if he were wearing an invisible cloak, while the blond blue eyed 70 year old Norwegian women had to strip naked in front of the airport security to make sure they were not jihadists on a suicide mission.

I posted the entire article on my blog here:

Ideological blinkers. He can’t see because his ideology blocks out reality. That, plus, of course, the typical avoidance of responsibility typical of narcissists.
Anyway, the guy is just a con man, BS is his stock in trade.

By the way, what Obama & his team say becomes increasingly irrelevent. It will soon get to the point when no one cares or pays any attention to the empty words from the hollow man. Who wants to listen to a liar anyway?

  7. claudis, it’s the mindset of the left. They don’t see this as a major problem. It IS a series of isolated incidents, that happen in a vaccume…that’s being inflamed by the right in order to gain political advantage. The left in this country (and elsewhere) believe that in using law enforcement methods, those “isolated individuals” may be brought to the bar of justice and then prosecuted. They just don’t see this as Islam’s attempt to destroy the west, even though its a war that’s been waged since the late 1970′s.

Obama lied. That Abdulmutallab is an isolated extremist is not a true statement. Obama did not misspeak, he has not issued a correction: Obama lied.

Napolitano lied. “The system worked” is not a true statement. At least Napolitano later reversed herself but still at first she lied.

I hope no American lives are lost because of these liars. I would rather be able to say “Obama lied and luckily no one died.” I am not hopeful.

  9. Given the rhetoric Miss Rosett cites here and the recent decisions of which he’s approved, there is no longer any reasonable doubt that Obama is on the terrorists’ side — especially those unfortunate enough to be captured.

For Americans to be fearful of air travel, of converging in large buildings or stadia, or of passing over a bridge or through a tunnel is in keeping with a radical statist agenda. As Obama and his lieutenants are demonstrably radical statists from the social-fascist mold, it should strain no one’s imagination that they should want us to be as fearful was we can possibly be made.

  10. 10. David Thomson

    “…and offered a stage in a U.S. court).”

This alone is a huge incentive to the terrorists. They enjoy the added publicity and an opportunity to jack the American legal system. Barack Obama’s existential hostility towards white America threatens our peace and security. In many respects, on a subconscious level, he is on the side of the terrorists—the alleged victims of western imperialism.

  11. 11. howiem

Tcobb, please try not to be so naive. Obama has been bought off and has bought off others all his life. It is completely within his comprehension that this is the way he can amass as much power as we ,let him get away with. His world view has nothing to do with world peace, it is about power for himself and his cronies. It is not that he is ignorant about the ramifications of terrorism, it is that it is a nuisance to his other ambitions, not worthy of interfering with his golf game or other personal agendas. He does not give one thought to anyone but himself and the useful idiots he uses to achieve as much power as possible. He has surrounded himself with incompetent thugs who could care less about America or the people. He doesn’t condescend to Islamists because he cares, he does so in hopes that they will not make big enough waves to spoil his day. He is a greedy, arrogant, selfish elitist. He does not care about helping the poor do anything but remaining poor, because poverty means control. Hungry people are too busy worrying about their next meal to cause any problems. He does nt want a prosperous America, because that would result in dissension to his policies, we are seeing it every day. He has misused trillions of dollars and only expanded government, which produces nothing except problems. He is a-moral, a-ethical, and a-values. He has none of them, only greedy ambition. His “Healthcare” is not about health, it is about death, about reducing the number of people which makes those remaining easier to control. Even claiming that it is about health cannot be proven in the many bills, all of which have numerous sections stating that “The Secretary (HHS) will determine……”. This is a blank check for anything the administration wants to do. The only sure thing is that it will not be good for our health.

  12. Euphemisms such as ‘man mad disaster’ and ‘systemic failure’ are perfect definitions of the Cap and Trade Bill and the Healthcare Bill.
‘Allegedly’ does have some proper place in language. Two good examples are: 1. Bill Clinton and Eric Holder allegedly took bribes in exchange for pardoning Marc Rich. and 2. The GOP allegedly took a dive in nominating John McCain in 2008.

  13. 13. genghis

Today Obama announces that Umar has links to Al Queda. Isn’t that precious ? Do you think the Exalted one figured that out for himslf, or got tipped off by our vaunted homeland security chief. Meanwhile, in Obama-land, the perp is lawyered up and has the right to remain silent. So much for getting any useful information from this un-uniformed enemy combatant self declared terrorist. Had he been spotted getting trained in Yemen he would have earned a Hellfire missile. Now, caught while attempting to kill several hundred people, he gets read his ‘rights’. Such is the mindset of our esteemed highly intelligent president. And of course there is the comfort of knowing tht the TSA is ever on the job. First, after the bomb in the shoe, it’s barefoot throught the airport. Now, after the exploding panties bit, it’s lap time. What happens when the first exploding suppository incident occurs?

  14. 14. noreen

You can see the confusion on Obama’s face. The look of someone who has been convinced for all these years that terrorism is something Bush cooked up and invented up to score political points. A non issue invented to scare Americans and secure votes for Rebuplicans. Now that is obvious that Bush knew what he was talking about, Obama is going to need 3 or 4 months to regroup and figure out what to do. I don’t think he knows anybody in his world who is not a pervert a liar a crook or a tax cheat though

  15. It is my considered opinion, and you may take that for whatever value you may choose to apply to it, that the fundamental reason we are having greater and greater trouble self-governing in a responsible manner is that the children are taught wrong in school: government is not our universal provider of anything, most especially: guidance and teaching.

children should be taught and taught again: GOVERNMENT IS DANGEROUS

the remainder of our concept of liberty flows from that, most particularly that the power of the government must be restricted and controlled by the people

the thing I like about writing on PJ media is that none of you here will laugh at me for making that statement; rather, I will here: Yes, Mike, we know that!

you also know the children who come through government schools do no know it. at this point the best we can do is: teach our own.

Our Founding Fathers taught us HOW to be self-governing; it remains to us to “teach the children well”

If the TSA won’t use common sense in identifying high risk groups who might do damage, the American public will. My wife flies frequently and our family risk assessment when flying is the following:
    - only fly when absolutely necessary (we now drive when driving is 8 hours or less)
    - wait to board plane last
    - assess the nationality of fellow passengers
    - if large group of suspicious acting or suspicious looking people are on it, do not board!

I’ll let your imaginations run as to what suspicious looking or acting people are like.

  17. 17. jdg

It doesn’t matter whether Jihadists act in concert. In fact, it’s worse if they succeed without assistance. That would make their efforts all the more dangerous. What matters is that terrorism against the West is mainstream in Islam, and yet too many in the West call Jihad a fringe movement or. worse, a spiritual internal struggle. Too few will even call it Jihad or Islamic.

One things for sure. We can’t make up rules fast enough to impose upon oursevles while fighting a civilization that refuses to abide by any rules but pure expediency.

Unless we are willing to use the full power of our military might to win, women in the West should get ready to start wearing the hijab and men will need a pray rug pointed to Mecca, which is not a holy city in my book.

  18. There is, of course, always the possibility that they know full well that there are connections, but don’t want to tip their hand by saying what they know about them. After all, information is far more useful when they think you don’t have it.

Can’t honestly say I believe that, but such a situation would be virtually indistinguishable from the current one.

  19. 19. David B.

I agree totally about the “Newspeak” coming out of Washington. They obviously think we are all fools who can be reassured with benign blandishments rather than action. I fear the coming wake-up call on this – I’m afraid many people will be killed before this rhetorical nonsense comes to an end.

One thing that has me wondering a lot along this line is the determination that the unsuccessful bombing is a domestic crime best suited for a police response. Consequent to this, the bomber (oops, “alleged”) is arrested, Mirandized, and allowed to “lawyer up.” No interrogation allowed. At the same time I’m reading that we’re considering some sort of retaliatory strike in Yemen. To follow Washington’s logic, how could an international military action be considered as a response to a domestic crime? Are they planning to start carpet bombing bank robbers hideouts in Cleveland? This disconnect is striking to me – how can this incident represent a criminal act by an “isolated extremist” and still require an overseas military response? If he was “isolated” who is there to bomb?

Again, I can only believe that they think we’re all fools.

  20. 20. misanthropicus

[...] Obama finally spoke up [...] one of the most staggering phrases to roll from his lips was “isolated extremist.” [...]

And right he was – because that guy wasn’t really part of some legions marching frontally against the western civilization.

And here’s the problem, too – legions marching frontally can cause damages, yet “isolated extremists” can bring enormous damages, too. Rarely, rarely a single soldier kills 300 enemies in a war – yet Farouk’s failure WAS AN ACCIDENT, and could have easily succeed, and it doesn’t take that many of “isolated extremists” to inflict enormous and lasting damages to this or other country -

When one can be comfortable (pardon the expression) with the accommodating notion of “man-made disaster”, that means that that person is already prepared to accept Bakersfield be wiped out by an “isolated extremist’s” portable atomic bomb –

Donald Rumsfeld once came with a good illustration of this (approx): “terrorists operate in a pretty safe environment, they don’t really need luck – we are lucky when we catch them” -

But this type of asymmetry is unacceptable by Obama’s view of the world – so, expect more bad news -

  21. 21. FairWitness

What’s staggering to realize is that the mindset of President Obama and his political Brethren remains unchanged and unaffected by the deaths of thousands of innocent victims. These “Progressives” just don’t give a damn that civilized, decent, productive human beings, the world over, are being murdered by evil Islamists. All that matters is their onward march to achieve absolute power. The godless ideology of Communism is alive and well in the Obama Administration. God help us all.

    The Former Administration-

I have heard all the rhetoric.

He still uses these carefully worded sentences to extend his political existence.

If we have a ‘man made catastrophic’ car, airplane, or school bombing in 2010 Obamas words

bring “an end” to “Overseas Contingency Operations,” a risk that an “isolated extremist” might “allegedly” attempt to bring about a “man-caused disaster.” the “suspect,” if caught, will be treated as a common criminal

won’t be worth a pile of ‘warm spit in the voting booth.’

His administration of ‘Czars’ and lap dog Congress will come falling down like the ‘house of cards’ it has created.

That doesn’t bother me as much as Al Qaeda and other fanatical groups recruiting and bragging that they can cause a
‘regime change’ even in America through the use terror.

    Have a safe 2010.

  26. 26. new utopian

It may be as simple as this. Obama does not want to be tagged as the first post-9/11 American president to have a terrorist attack on his watch. He’ll do and say anything to deny reality.

The unicorns and sugar plum fairies of the Obama administration, except if Obama is too tired and not getting his rest.

  28. 28. Sebastian Shaw

President Obama is a radical Leftist, a Communist, in his thinking; therefore, the only terrorists he sees are Republicans, Middle America, & Americans in general; this past Summer, Obama, in his usual emotionally detached manner, sent out his SEIU Purple Shirts to disrupt the Tea Parties! He also in his gall or immature delusions really campaigned against we the people of America as he droned on about ObamaCare, as each campaign stop made more people against the health care fiat!

To Obama, America is the enemy. However, reality ever intrudes in ObamaLand; the terrorist was not an “isolated extremist” if the British reports are true. Obama is lying again. I expect more escalations & more blaming of President Bush. Shiftless, spineless follower that Obama is cannot lead since he is an incompetent narcissistic boob.

  29. 29. Supreme Allied Comander

    great essay Claudia.

    — there’s quite a debate going on right now about which comes first, the sloppy thinking or the willful misleading.

This sentence can be applied to the modus operandi for the obama administration. a real collection of scary freaks.

  30. 30. eon

    Orwell has several quotations which seem almost scarily prescient when applied to this President and his minions. Among them are;

“In our time political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible.”

“Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”

“So much of left-wing thought is a kind of playing with fire by people who don’t even know that fire is hot.”

    This last one is, I believe, particularly applicable to this President and his enablers, notably Janet Napolitano;

“What can you do against the lunatic who is more intelligent than yourself, who gives your arguments a fair hearing, and then simply persists in his lunacy?”

Although I seriously doubt that Napolitano, or The One, are nearly as smart as they believe themselves to be. See “Day of the Moron” by H.Beam Piper.

Excellent article and a good summary of where we are on the terror list(both with the bad guys and the “good” guys). I just have to commend you on “…the administration is emitting squid ink….”. That statement creates a mental picture that should help us through the murky waters of politicized pressers which lie ahead and seem to flow endlessly from the mouths of this bunch of political hacks.

  32. 32. Wolla Dalbo

First, a perusal of what little is known of Obama’s actual history shows that his biological father was a Muslim from the predominantly Muslim Luo tribe in Kenya, and that—although denied during the campaign by his spokesmen and campaign website, and denied, too, in friendly magazine articles, which portrayed Obama’s paternal grandmother, for instance, as being a Christian—she later was quoted in the New York Times as saying that she was a Muslim and “strong in Islam”–all of his Kenyan relatives but one are Muslims, and some very militant ones at that.

That Obama’s step-father, Lolo Soetoro, was a Muslim, that Obama spent the years from 6 to 10 living in his step-father’s Muslim household, in the majority Muslim country of Indonesia, was registered in school as an Indonesian citizen (at that time, the only way he would be allowed to attend school in Indonesia), that Obama was also registered as a Muslim and, thus, took mandatory religious instruction in Islam and the Qur’an, and that his Indonesian classmates and friends reported–to the few curious people interested in going to Indonesia, tracking them down and talking to them–that Obama, then named Barry Soetoro, also took the extra classes in reciting the Qur’an in Arabic (mengaji) that only the very pious took, and that Obama was observed going to the Mosque with his stepfather.

Then, there was Obama’s incautious March 6, 2007 interview with New York Times reporter Nicholas Kristof, during which Obama chanted the Muslim call to prayer in perfect Arabic, and told Kristof that the sound of the call to prayer “was one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset” (see the NYT article here http://select.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html?_r=3&oref=slogin&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin, plus more very revealing info, including the text of the call to prayer–which includes within it the Muslim confession of faith, that many Muslim scholars say, once recited, makes one a Muslim forever, here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuXxtg4M_z8).

Then, there was Obama’s little Freudian slip, when Obama used the term “my Muslim faith” during an on camera interview—quickly changed after prodding by friendly Democratic interviewer George Stephanopoulos to “my Christian faith” (see the end of the prior video for this incident).

There was the fact that a former Black Panther and radical Muslim, Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour, financial advisor to Saudi Arabian multi-billionaire Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, was apparently instrumental in getting Obama into Harvard Law, and was raising money for Obama’s very expensive tuition there (http://www.jihadwatch.org/2008/09/the-obama-mansour-connection.html).

There is also the fact that the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s white-hating Black Liberation Theology spouting pastor of 20 years, who—until Wright’s “God Damn America” sermons hit the Internet and it got “inconvenient”–Obama used to portray as his very close personal friend of 20 years, Obama’s “mentor,” and his “spiritual and political advisor,” had formerly been a Muslim. Then thee are the facts that Obama had been very good friends with Palestinian activist and Jew hater Edward Said, and is still a close friend of “former PLO operative” Rashid Khalidi.

So, you tell me, as between Islam and the Muslims who are trying to kill all us “unbelievers,” and us “unbelievers”–us Christians and Jews, Hindus and Buddhists,Animists and Zoroastrians, Taoists and Atheists here in America–whose side do you think Obama is really on?

  35. Sloppy and reality-denying thinking is a big part of this, granted. But the deeper cause is a “Coexist”-bumper-sticker-mentality that refuses to acknowledge that the world’s second-largest religion has justified and indeed mandated violence against non-Muslims for 14 centuries, and continues–when read and observed literally–to do so today: http://hnn.us/blogs/78.html#121307

We have a President that gets more concerned about the Cambridge police arresting a friend for disorderly conduct than an “isolated extremist” trying to blow up a plane full of people. Why on earth would our country’s enemies fear the current CiC? Good grief, we are at two attacks by terrorists in his first year, how many more by 2012?

  39. 39. Wolla Dalbo

In addition to my comments at #35 above, let me also add information about another major connection of Obamas to Islam and Muslims; the fact that while Obama was a sitting U.S. Senator, he and Michelle traveled in 2006 to Kenya at taxpayer’s expense on a “fact finding tour” and, while there, Obama campaigned for several days for his fellow Luo tribesman, his “cousin,” the Marxist and Muslim Raila Odinga (http://contributors.blogsome.com/2008/10/10/brand-new-video-surfaces-connecting-barack-obama-with-the-butcher-of-kenya/); an interference in Kenya’s internal affairs that led to an official protest to the U.S. by the Kenyan government.

Odinga is a Muslim and Marxist educated in Communist East Germany before the Wall fell, who had tried and failed to stage a Marxist coup in Kenya in the 1980’s and was imprisoned for several years for it. Odinga was a candidate for President of Kenya in 2006 and nicknamed by some the “Butcher of Kenya” for the murders and bloody attacks carried out by mobs of his machete wielding—mostly Muslim–supporters. After returning to the U.S., Obama was quoted as saying that he kept in contact with his cousin Odinga on a daily basis (http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=77508); all these events a story very little reported by the MSM in the U.S., and one that just faded away.

During the campaign it was reported that Odinga had signed an agreement with the leaders of Kenya’s minority (10%) Muslim community, stipulating that if they delivered the Muslim vote for Odinga and he won, he would impose Islam and Shari’a law on majority (90%) Christian Kenya. Odinga denied there was such an agreement or that he signed any agreement, but Muslim leaders gave the original of this agreement, signed by Odinga and Muslim leaders–containing Odinga’s pledges to hinder the practice of Christianity, and to impose Islam and Shari’a law on Kenya–to Kenyan newspapers, which published the document (http://iperceive.net/odinga-abdi-obama-which-islamic-mou-is-real/).

Odinga lost, but in the process his followers—among other atrocities–burned down a Church full of Christians, incinerating 50 some men, women and mostly children (http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2008-01-01-kenya-elections_N.htm), and after his loss, violent mobs of his supporters caused so much violence and turmoil, in which a reported 1,000 Kenyans were killed and 350,000 Kenyans displaced by violence (see http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=71383) that Odinga was bought off by the Kenyan government by being given the position of Premier, which he occupies today.

what drivel. get with it: terrorist attacks in the hundreds have been occurring for the last several decades. in the u.s. we’ve had plenty: the unabomber evaded the feds for decades, the oklahoma city bombing was a home-grown event, we’ve had plenty of others shoot doctors doing abortions and blowing up abortion clinics. you need some perspective. one little reality check for your minimal brain power: a terrorist attack is INEVITABLE in the U.S. – either from within by some fellow Americans convinced they are “right” or from without by some fellow human beings convinced they are “right.” Terrorism is going nowhere. And no president is going to stop it, no matter if it’s a Rambo-like nut strapping on guns and hand grenades to chase them down. It’s simply a matter of time before America is attacked successfully again: Simply. A matter. of Time! This is not a warning or a threat, it’s simply being realistic. Why are Americans being so naive about their government? Did the government prevent the financial crisis? Has it stopped poverty, malnutrition, man-made calamities of whatever stripe??? What planet are you living on? The government cannot protect us 100% and even if it does a 95% job with insanely exhaustive security checks, one terrorist will get through. So, the question is not how we will prevent a terrorist attack. The real question is, how will we respond when one occurs? What will we do? Will we go on witch hunts, elect some crazy populist demagogue (remember, Hitler came to power after a “terrorist” attack on the Reichstag!), get neighbors to spy on neighbors and rat each other out on some phantom charges a la the various totalitarian regimes of the world? Americans had better start thinking now about their response. Because an attack is really inevitable. Unfortunately, extremism is not isolated, true. But the greatest fear I have of extremism is not from some nut jobs who might get through – it’s from the very extremists living in this country who will insist on all sorts of craziness to “protect” us and the meaning of America will disappear forever as a result.

Charles Krauthammer, like Claudia, another voice of reason in the dark fen of the MSM, justly and hilariously compares Obama to another wartime POTUS, FDR (from Townhall blog):

“More jarring still were Obama’s references to the terrorist as a “suspect” who “allegedly tried to ignite an explosive device.” You can hear the echo of FDR: “Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — Japanese naval and air force suspects allegedly bombed Pearl Harbor.”

  43. 43. Theo Goodwin

It seems to me that the explanation for Obama’s sluggishness in addressing the Christmas Bomber is very clear: Obama is not governing this country. Other people are. Obama was sluggish in Hawaii and since because the actual governors had not gotten their act together and given him something to say. Obama is a front man who specializes in speeches. To expect more of him is utter folly.

Responsible journalists would investigate not “what Obama knew and when he knew it” but “what Obama was told to say and when he was told it.”

  44. 44. Paul

The flat and unpleasant but full truth is that he is unable, purely because he is unwilling to be anything but misleading, untruthful, unfaithful to vows he made to the nation and to the US Constitution, and more than willing to undermine… no, damage and dismantle the nation and its image in the global community. He is the worst mistake US voters have ever made, and I still maintain that the day will come when a huge majority of Americans will regret they EVER heard this con man’s name, and will be ashamed that they invited him and his ugly wife into the White House, to be the US spokespersons to the world (not that many already do… but this phenomenon will continue to grow; I could regret that such a day is coming, BUT I DON’T!!!).

How can we deduce Obama and his intentions towards America?

    1) His father was a Muslim; Obama was living with a stepfather in Indonesia as a young boy (10 year old) and raised as a Muslim; he went to Islamic school.
Abandoned by his father, Obama has had a lifelong yearning for him..and his ‘being’. This will include a refusal to confront his father’s socialism and Islamic beliefs.

    2) His wife was a committed member of a ‘church’ that is in reality a proselytizing rant against America and against Whites. Since leaving this ‘church’, the Obama family has, importantly, not gone to any church.
Therefore their involvement in this ‘church’ was due to Michelle Obama and her anti-American, anti-White focus. Not for any religious reasons.

    3) What was Obama doing in Kenya in 2006? Why was he campaigning on behalf of an Islamic take-over of Kenya?

    4) Obama, psychologically, is a malignant narcissist. He’ll be involved politically only in ideologies that give him personal power; this would be both Islam and Socialism, for both reduce the population to a dependent mass and reject the use of reason and individual activities and freedom.

    5) I’m going to claim that because of Obama’s malignant narcissism, he can’t be ideological; he cannot think about any ideas or theories of political national wellbeing. He is an intellectully barren person.

Therefore, he is NOT ideologically a Socialist nor a Muslim. BUT, he’ll be politically deeply embedded in both ideologies because they enable his psychological need for power to function.

AND – this also means that he will not confront Islamic fascism. Ever. He’ll reduce it from an ideology to individual criminal actions. This is what he’s done.

#43 – Joe – you bring up some good points. I have some more. I can tell you what we should not do:
    1) Not change the terminology regarding terrorist events. (“overseas contingency operations,” “man-made disasters,” etc.)
    2) Close Gitmo and provide civil courts to terrorists.
    3) Prosecute our Military for capturing or killing terrorists on the battlefield, or for giving terrorists bloody lips or noses.
    4) Blaming America while giving speeches on foreign soil.
    5) Extending an open hand to a fist that has been clinched since 1979.
    6) Announce a troop surge and exit time frame at the same time.

I’m sure I missed some other items. The inevitability (or likely potential) of a future terrorist act is not an excuse for the current leadership’s poor policy decisions.

So, what to do ? Some say impeachment – not likely as half the country is in full agreement with BO or are blind followers who would vote for him even if he slaughtered his dog on Pensylvania avenue in broad daylight.

What would the Muslims do with someone who betrayed their faith in the nanner that BO has betrayed the U.S. constitution and basic christian principles ?

So, again, rather than harping and whining where are the constructive ideas ? Waiting until the next election to vote Republican hardly seems sufficient as they were the crew who established the groundwork for BO supporters to take over.

Where to focus all of this frustration in a constructive manner ? This is what the Republican presidential wanna-bes are salivating over as we opine. Lets not be fooled again. Suggestions please.

Great article, great comments. I watched this video in disbelief http://www.californiaconservative.org/category/contributors/author-gary-gross/ , it displays exactly what you’re talking about.

BOLLING: Well, Tamara, I’m trying to figure it out. Is it a crime or is it a terrorist attack? Because if it’s a terrorist attack, you can be held as an enemy combatant and be interrogated.

Tamara HOLDER: No. You’re wrong. Actually, in March, Obama dispelled the word enemy combatant. There is no word enemy combatant. I don’t know why Hoekstra and Candace Miller and all these people are saying that he’s an enemy combatant. There is no such term in America anymore. Obama dispelled with that.

  58. I think the word we need to focus on is ‘extremist’. If you look throughout history -especially war- you will find that in one form or another it was an ‘extremist’ whom set the tone, or took hold of the direction for a period of time. It is not well enough to only be able to define these moments, people or groups… It is the very actions against them that will define how history will treat the ends justifying the means.

Obama and his advisors need to remember and understand that America and her sovereignty are not for sale, and are what we have relied on to become the greatest nation in the history of recored human events.

Next election we need to elect an old white man with executive experience as our president. While we are at it we can discard any Democrat or Republican who will not lower taxes, abolish the Departments of Education, Energy, and other useless entities promulgated by the left, and require voters to register and vote in person, with I.D. It would also be nice to get a new attorney general who would not base his prosecution decisions on the fact the black panthers and he are both men of color. If the KKK had done the same thing as the Panthers did, our present attorney general would have made this his seminal case. He is a racist, Obama is a racist, Jeramiah Wright is a racist, and the black Panthers are unabashed racists. Why do white Americans fail to see what is directly in front of their collective faces? These people need to be stopped. November 2010 may be your last chance to save our Constitution, and our country, Register and vote.

Obama initially characterized Hasan, the Ft. Hood shooter, similarly. On anything relating to terrorism, such kinds of views are the preferred “narrative” of this President, just as “white racist cop” was his implicit (and preferred) narrative in the Henry Louis Gates incident.

Somebody should tell this President that his viewpoints and “reality” aren’t exactly a match.

    Expanding on your theme:

  62. 62. joe

Let’s just leave labels out of this. I’ve never registered with any party, simply listing “independent” on my voting registration. But that’s really a non sequitir, isn’t it? I mean, I’m an American, a proud American with three uncles who defended this country in WWII, and a younger uncle who served in Vietnam. I would have served my country had the demand been made and my age was right. If you want to play games of “who’s most patriotic” well I can play that.

But that’s not the point at all. The point is, I see everyone looking to the government to do something IT CANNOT DO and HAS NOT A SINGLE CHANCE OF ACHIEVING. Inevitably, a terrorist attack will succeed in our country – AGAIN. So what is our response going to be? Remember, Hitler DID use a terrorist attack to come to power. That’s really the worst case scenario, in my opinion. People will use a new attack to push our dialogue into even more extreme territory. We will be told we need a new Patriot Act III, that more surveillance is necessary, that the enemy is among us, that impure thoughts are the reason for the attacks, etc. (Recall that Jerry Falwell blamed the 9/11 attacks on gays – I’m not fantasizing at how bad it could get in this country.)

If you really think Obama is that bad, good Lord, I don’t think you’ve seen anything. And look at the garbage that counts for “dialogue” here to begin with: he’s not a “real” American, he’s really a closet Muslim, etc. Frankly, this stuff is simply the tip of the iceberg – AND WILL BE EASILY AND FULLY EXPLOITED BY A DEMAGOGUE INTENT ON TAKING POWER. People really need to wake up here. I see Orwell quoted and again, I have to think, you’ve seen nothing if you think our government is Orwellian now. NOTHING. People thinking our government is fascist now ought to read some history. America has always been somewhat fascist (recall the robber barons) but we are a long way from Mussolini’s Italy or Hitler’s Germany. The media is still robust and diverse – yes, thanks to the Internet but also thanks to revived interest in real journalism (pray that the bloggers start to read journalistic ethics and stop simply playing the partisan stool). America is still the most irrepressibly dynamic country in the world, full of ideas and innovation, an amazing economy full of the most talented thinkers and tinkerers. Why am I reading so much doom and gloom here, end is nigh, End Times are here, etc.???

I can only think that people WANT another attack to succeed – in order to pave the way for a real totalitarian state that will make Obama and our current government look like choir boys.

I used to write similar things on the liberal web sites when they said such nonsense about Bush! So, I’m not taking sides here!!! I’d be glad to re-post those comments if I can find them and someone is so very bored…

Again, the point is: Let’s stop this nonsense of setting a ridiculous test for the government: No new attacks. If you are living in such a bubble that you cannot see an attack coming, you are on some serious drugs. For many reasons, people in various parts of the world want to see us dealt a blow. Success creates envy, I guess. But it’s true that we are not so innocent on the world stage and if we’re honest, we’d acknowledge that. Still, the fact is the U.S. is an incredibly positive force in the world. It didn’t help that our financial system collapsed last year, because, well, we designed that system after WWII. But still, most people around the world respect and admire the U.S. And they should! Penicillin, light bulbs, jet planes, democracy, freedom, moral progress – you could write all night about the wonders we’ve given the world, what great values we’ve pushed!!!

I think in a way we’ve lost our mojo, though. The comments I read here, just as the liberals did under Bush, are shrill and hysterical. They are impossibly negative, unrealistic and, full of nonsensical statements that really do not address the issue at hand or explore it meaningfully beyond, “Run for the hills!!!” kind of hysteria. What good is that? What end does it possibly serve? We’re Americans and when I read this stuff here I think, what’s going on here? What do you mean the world is ending and our government is corrupt and scheming against us, that there’s some sort of huge conspiracy, etc?

I’m sorry, I just think that’s the talk of nutty people. And, to be honest, I think that’s anti-American. Where I grew up (Michigan), we are not running around, crying that the sky is falling. We have a little more sense than that and lot more faith in our neighbors, our abilities, etc.

The best course in difficult times is to GET INVOLVED. The greatest thing about America has always been what’s possible. If there’s a problem, we can solve it. I’m no fan of Obama, but I’m sorry, if you think he’s the end of our civilization, well, you’re losing me. But when people do start talking about The End, well, then yes, I do fear for the future. We are not ending, we are not lost, we are not on the edge of the cliff, etc. The more we say we are, the more we are likely to get to that point. My brother in law keeps talking about the end of the American way of life and I’m sorry, I just don’t buy it. The USA is the greatest country on the face of the planet. I’m sorry – for those who have no experience outside of the US you might just think I’m going on. For international readers, you may disagree. But for all our warts, we do lead the world. And we’re not going anywhere. No matter how many nuts you send to blow up our jets and scare us! Every time you fail, we get stronger. Just keep that in mind!

  63. From FOXNEWS online
    Latest obama speech:

“We know that he traveled to Yemen, a country grappling with crushing poverty and deadly insurgencies. It appears that he joined an affiliate of Al Qaeda, and that this group — Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula — trained him, equipped him with those explosives and directed him to attack that plane headed for America,” the president said.

    “Crushing poverty”.
He forgot that the “suspect” comes from a millionaire’s family.
And he is insinuating that poverty causes terrorism: that is the usual marxist-leninist crap.

    “INSURGENCIES”
    Obama never says “terrorists”, “terrorism”.

During the first few decades of the United States existence Muslim “Barbary Pirates” attacked this country’s absolutely vital merchant ships—stealing or destroying our ships, stealing their cargos, and selling their passengers and crews into slavery–and bled our treasury dry, forcing the Congress to pay them “protection money” (Jizya), gold that amounted to more than 10%, sometimes close to 20% of our entire National Budget in some years, for the 20 or so years (from roughly 1785 to 1805)it took to create the Navy and Marines Thomas Jefferson wanted, which he sent over to Northern Africa (“..to the shores of Tripoli.”) where, in a campaign covering the ten years form 1805 to 1815, our new Navy and Marines eliminated the Barbary Pirates as a threat (http://www.city-journal.org/html/17_2_urbanities-thomas_jefferson.html), although they have returned today.

Back in 1785 John Adams and Jefferson had taken the long and dangerous sea voyage to London to try to negotiate with the Pirate’s representative, Abd Al-Rahman, the Ambassador of Tripoli, and asked him why the Pirates were attacking the commerce of a newly formed country that had done them no harm, Al-Rahman answered by saying that:

“it was written in the Koran, that all Nations who should not have acknowledged their [Islam’s] authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon whoever they could find and to make Slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.”

Jefferson knew and saw Islam what it was, and fought it vigorously for many decades. In a delicious maneuver that I am sure the first Muslim elected to Congress, Congressman Keith Ellison, and all Muslims had enormous glee in putting over on all us clueless unbelievers and infidels, Ellison quieted criticism of his refusal to swear his oath of office on a Bible, by getting the Library of Congress to lend him Jefferson’s own copy of the Qur’an to swear on—a Qur’an that says—as all Muslims know and few unbelievers are aware of, and our MSM never bothered to point out–that all unbeliever’s nations and governments and laws are affronts to Allah, and must be destroyed, until only Islam, Muslims and Shari’a law remain, and “All is for Allah.” That is what Muslims mean when they say that “Islam is a Religion of “Peace,” for when “all is for Allah,” and all the nations comprising the unbeliever’s “House of War” has been conquered and incorporated into the “House of Islam,” there will finally be what they define as “Peace.”

And these are Islam and Muslims central motivations today, just as they have been for 1,400 years, and were back in the 1780s.

But, today the Muslims attacking us have an enormous and perhaps decisive advantage, the advantage that we cannot clearly see and comprehend that Islam and its core doctrines have declared themselves–and are–our eternal enemy.

Muslim inspired disinformation is everywhere—the Saudis have spent upwards of $200 million dollars to buy influence over American academic education about the Middle East and Islam and our Middle East experts (see http://97.74.65.51/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=31241 and http://www.campus-watch.org/article/id/4891), they have founded, fund and supply the fundamentalist Qur’ans and teaching materials for the over 2,000, mostly Wahabi administered/influenced mosques and other religious institutions in the United States, fundamentalist mosques that “certify“ all of the Muslim Imams who serve in our military, and in our prison systems—a great recruiting ground, full of self-selected, violent, anti-social recruits–and there are influential Muslims at the highest echelons of the Pentagon, who have successfully eliminated unbeliever experts who dared to offer a realistic picture of Islam and the Jihad (see http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/2621-pentagon-muslim-policy-set-by-senior-adviser-with-ties-to-terrorists.

The deeply deceptive mantra that “Islam is a Religion of Peace” is everywhere, the MSM largely repeats the Saudi line, very popular and prolific writer and Muslim apologist Karen Armstrong likens Muhammad to Gandhi, billionaire Saudi Prince Awaleed makes his latest donations of $20 million each to Harvard and Georgetown–and we are shot through with suicidal political correctness, and an unwillingness to face unpleasant realities.

Obama, apparently favoring/playing for the other side, is just the icing on the cake.

  66. 66. tanstaafl

And he is insinuating that poverty causes terrorism: that is the usual marxist-leninist crap.

Obama hasn’t varied much from his observations one week after September 11, 2001.

Call me Chavez but I smell a rat. Nothing personal, just business.

I am amazed that just about everyone is convinced that our president is ‘highly’ intelligent. Sorry, but I cannot see why anyone would believe this. Away from a teleprompter he acts like a big dummy. Says stuff that doesn’t make sense, or is obvious to even a ‘highly’ non intelligent person. Is there an I.Q. test result available? Has he produced anything of merit to indicate his superior intellect. Surely he was a university standout; perhaps valedictorian of his graduating class. No way could he have written the 2 books about himself. Whoever wrote them was a talented eloquent author. Since he is a narcissist, he considers himself superior to other human beings,,hence his arrogance. Narcissists have average intelligence. It is a stretch for me to get him up to that level, and could be an affront to all with avg. I.Q.s. While I am on a roll; Al Gore, a consumate con artist did not invent the internet!

@ joe: Get used to terrorism

    Yes and no. :)

Yes, in the sense that one death,
or 20, or even 2000, can be absorbed
    by a nation of ~ 300M people.

No, in the sense that as technology
advances, and weapons of mass destruction
become available to terrorist groups, and
eventually to individuals, no nation can
withstand, and hence cannot allow, even
a single successful atack; The rule will

    See also “CoDominium”.

  71. 71. WRJonas

There are some simple truths to be derived from the Presidents behavior.
First among these is his blindness to the fact that people can tell by his words and behavior that he is lying. He is comforted by a self delusion that we cannot ascertain when he is lying.
I say self delusion because lying is a sin that reveals itself in liars. He lies casually from a conviction that his lying is superior to other liars . The devils own deception one could say.
There are serious lies and casual lies and half lies . They all however are still lies and are an abomination issuing from the mouth .
Liars do not generally inspire trust and Obama seems to generate loathing in people by his disregard for the truth.

  72. I’m sorry but nothing, absolutely nothing is going to be honestly done about preventing another attack on our soil by this administration. Diddly.

Those that are stopped (and there will be) will only occur because those on the scene and in the field will do something, not because anyone higher up will “put the pieces together.”

I’m afraid that even if we lose some more plane loads of people we will still treat terrorism as criminal events. It won’t be until we lose a CITY or maybe even two that American will wake up. Though by then it’ll be far far too late.

  73. 73. PaulM

The President is the Commander in Chief. Instead he acts as though he were some administrative official who will somehow, at his convenience, get the facts. Although he took three days before he made any comment, by which time even Janet Politano had to admit there was a foulup, the President continued to use his hackeneyed phrase “isolated extremist” “poverty” and similar terms which clearly indicate that he does not understand, or more likely, is unwilling to admit that we are at war; that Islamic extremists, are the enemy aided and assisted by Russia, Iran, North Korea to name a few. He is inadequate and each day provides more proof of his inadequacy.

  74. 74. ETAB

    Several comments:

    1) Because Bush took six days to comment on the Shoebomber incident, which took place on Dec 22, 2001, shortly after 9/11 can’t be compared to Obama’s three day lapse after the Xmas Day attempt. That’s because the full screening programs weren’t in effect (removal of shoes was one result of the Reid attempt), and the US pushback against Al Qaeda hadn’t begun.

What we have now, after 8 years of extensive knowledge about Al Qaeda and jihadism, is a president who denies the reality of both. His delay was not due to a lack of information about the Al Qaeda agenda but to his own personal rejection of that agenda.

    2) I maintain that Obama’s rejection of the actuality of Islamic terrorism has incited them to attack the US – to prove their existence.

    3) Obama not only has refusesd to recognize their reality with his renaming the ‘war on terror’to the empty ‘overseas contingency operations’; and terrorist actions to ‘man-caused disasters’ both of which removes Al Qaeda intentionality…but he rejects Islamic jihadism completely.

He rejected it at Ft. Hood; he’s rejected it on the Dec 25th attack, with his telling us it was ‘an isolate extremist’. He is now, because of public pressure, forced to admit that it was an Al Qaeda action, BUT, he’s diverting its nature to Blame Bush.

    4) His radio address informed us that Al Qaeda has been carrying out terrorist attacks regularly over the past 8 years. Ahhh…Notice what he’s doing? He’s trying to tell us that Al Qaeda, under Bush, was still Active.

Yes, it was. Bush PUSHED AL QAEDA back into the Middle East and Africa. Those attacks took place in Muslim countries. Not in the USA.
    Bush kept America safe.
Under Obama – Al Qaeda is moving back into the USA.

And the cause of that is Obama’s open and public provokation of them…by denying their existence, AND, importantly, by choosing to go after and demoralize the CIA, and the intelligence communities…who are now demoralized and afraid of being prosecuted by Obama’s administration for ‘bias’ against Muslims…AND by his definition of terrorists as ‘criminals’ rather than war agents.

How about a majority of Governors taking a unified public stand against the BO economic plan of spending, debt, and cost shifting to states ? Silly me. They too are trying to get those Wash DC $$$$ and jobs.

The only slight glimmer of hope is the public’s recognition that BO is not to be trusted (#76). Too bad the alphabet media and NY Times is running cover for this guy. Arthur, you’re playing the fool again. President Bush acknowledge the War on Terror with aggressive moves in Afghanistan & Iraq; whereas, President Obama acts like war does not even exist in the his language. With Obama we get “man-caused disaster,” an Orwellian term for terrorist. Obama will not even say “terrorist,” but says “isolated extremist.” An extremist is not necessarily a terrorist. He certainly is not isolated given the British reports. All Obama says are LIES, LIES, LIES.

Where I grew up (Michigan), we are not running around, crying that the sky is falling. We have a little more sense than that and lot more faith in our neighbors, our abilities, etc.

    Isn’t Governor Granholm making y’all a little crazy ?

If you really think Obama is that bad, good Lord, I don’t think you’ve seen anything.

    Probably not, joe.

“it took former president George W. Bush nearly two weeks to acknowledge the shoe-bomber incident in 2001, while Mr. Obama was criticized for waiting two days. we need to be united to protect the country we dont need the dick Cheney type of ignorance.”

Arthur, I know you mean well, but you are way off, son. After 9\11, Bush ramped up our military and created DHS at full speed. By the early Spring, there were thousands of dead Taliban in Afghanistan. The Shoe Bomber event happened less than a year after 9/11.

So, here is the difference. Bush knew we were at war and he acted quickly and effectively to kill our enemies. By contrast, it seems that Obama is not only unwilling to kill our enemies but is unwilling to call them enemies. We would like Obama to tell us that he is on our side in this war and that he intends to prosecute it vigorously, which means killing as many of our enemies as possible as quickly as possible.

Yeah, those isolated violent extremists, they’re just isolated all over the place … together, no less.

And there’s nothing worse than having a whole team of isolated violent extremists plotting to raise hell.

  82. 82. myth buster

joe, you’re missing the point. It’s not that we believe terrorism will ever cease this side of the Second Coming, it’s about the fight. We can’t do anything but react to the lone nutcase, but we can do something about a war that is being waged against us. In WWII, we weren’t delusional enough to believe victory would end war for all time; WWII itself cured us of that delusion. However, the immediate threat did have to be neutralized- the Nazis and the Japanese Empire had to be defeated, and the prize was peace and prosperity, not forever, but for a time. That is what we have to deal with today.

  83. 83. geoffgo

Where’s the outrage? The Once and his administration are neither “clueless” nor “incompetent.” In under one year, the Left has RUINED the US, with malice of forethought. Perhaps irrepairably. I’d say they’re supremely adept. And pathological liars. If it weren’t so damned dangerous it would be incomprehensibly sickening. If Obama’s long and getting longer list of misdeeds doesn’t add up to impeachable offenses, we are surely doomed.

Why do you think most of the Bluedog Dems will seek to retire? Cause at present, the only penalty to be exacted for what they’ve done is fullboat retirment on your dime, forever. They know there’s gonna be a revolt, and they want to distance themselves from the lampposts in WDC.

If we ever again get to be the majority in Congress, US folks had better be prepared to mete out JUSTICE. Swift and sure. What, we’re gonna let them run for office again?

They’re thieves who’ve stolen the future of the US.
It’s not like they and their thousands of aides and staff don’t know that what they are doing is patently illegal, unConstitutional, abrogating the Bill of Rights, and anti-American.

The only way to RELIABLY learn of their sedition, misappropriation (see: voting for bills without reading them), diversion of funds during wartime, payoffs, bribes, vote-buying, outright treason, et al is to promise to waterboard them and their staffs. Confessions will flow freely with just the prospect. Expand Gitmo. Put all of these crooks in the dock. This behavior by elected officials during wartime is worthy of the most severe punishment. If you think not, give it up cause you’re a kulak.

If we are not prepared to go “all in” at this juncture, then there is no reason for the remaining patriots to fight. So let’s declare UPFRONT, what’s in store for them. Might slow’em down a tad, on their way out the door with your money.

Licoln suspended habeas corpus. We’re at war, and we’ll need to do similar things to right our ship. Steel yourselves. There is no compromising with evil.

I agree. At some point we will start chartering our own “private” flights. I.E. .. Non-moslim flights.

This has two advantages. The first is obvious, no moslims will be trying to light their shoes or undies…. as there will not be a moslim on that flight.

The second advantage is that private/charter flights do/may/could bypass the stupid security of public flights where non-moslims are subjected to more scrutiny than the moslims who are the threat.

On a side topic.. do moslim undie bombers prefer tightie whities or boxers? And just how in the heck do they think they will use those 72 virgins in allah land when they blew their “junk’ up so’s to speak.

Ah.. didn’t think about that did you .. you moslim .. ah.. numbnuts.

Quisling, after Norwegian politician Vidkun Quisling, who assisted Nazi Germany to conquer his own country and ruled the collaborationist Norwegian government, is a term used to describe traitors and collaborators. It was most commonly used for fascist political parties and military and paramilitary forces in occupied Allied countries which collaborated with Axis occupiers in World War II, as well as for their members and other collaborators…Wikipedia

  87. 87. joeblough

I have noticed a strain of comment around the blogosphere to the effect, more or less, that more people in America die from traffic collisions than terrorism, or that one is more likely to be assaulted by a common criminal than by a terrorist, or that all sorts of criminality or natural disaster create more trouble in America than terrorism, and so on and so forth …

And therefore we should calm down and not take the jihaddi threat so seriously.

I am struck, when I read this sort of stuff, by the extraordinary callousness and the cavalier attitude toward both the death and suffering already accountable to the jihad movement, and toward the threatened destruction hanging over not only America but the world in general.

In point of fact, while we generally screw up to one degree or another, we bend every possible effort to avert, or repair or avenge the destructions wrought by the criminal and natural agents that, for lack of a better term, the anti-anti-jihadists cite in their icy hearted objections.

We do what we can against every sort of threat to safety and well being. Why, out of all the things that threaten American lives would we want to leave in casual neglect attacks by jihaddi raiders and assassins?

It is an odd sort of exception to make.

It is exceptionally odd, when one considers it in a global context. When we can see clearly, by simply glancing overseas from time to time, that there are thousands of deaths annually accountable to thousands of terrorist attacks. When there are millions if not billions of dollars of property damage inflicted by mohammedan fanatics and rioters. When there is a virtual genocide being conducted as I write by the jihaddis in the Sudan. When there is a catastrophic erosion of the quality of life wherever the jihaddists gain a fingerhold on power, even if only the power of street crime.

When there is an enormous lethal storm gathering just outside our borders claiming lives by the thousands, we are told “why worry? It’s only been a couple of thousand Americans so far!” — as if those thousands, and the dozens that have followed, were disposable items of no account.

And yet, were we to apply the same logic to an approaching hurricane just off the coast the world would in a single voice damn us for criminal neglect.

But really … don’t more people die in car crashes than hurricanes?

    Obviously, the “logic” is absurd.

I think we can expect to see the growth of an anti-anti-jihad movement, much as we once had an anti-anti-communist movement. And that using the same sort of sophistry and deception that their ideological antecedents employed, and for much the same reason.

I have to admit though, that there was a time when idiotic but well meaning people were taken in by the altruism of communism and its vocabulary, who mistook communist altruism for benevolence and imagined, at least for a while, that collectivism was going to produce a more humane world.

So, such people were opposed to the anti-communists out of sympathy and support for the communists.

But given what we know about the motives and practices of the jihaddis … ?

I cannot imagine any reason other than absolute moral depravity for opposing the resistance to the jihad movement.

You’re on the right track. We do need some ideas in addition to the venting. I disagree with you about the “waiting for the next election”. We have to hit them hard in 2010 and on both sides of the aisle. We’ve been too complacent for too long. We’ve let the agitators from both ends of the spectrum run things. It’s time for the 50% in the middle to get active. My question to the group is how? We can influence our individual vote and maybe those around us but is that enough? Thoughts?

Thank you Joe for your comments. Mostly this expository writing post of yours is mainly drivel.

Here are a couple of facts you have missed.

Islam is at war with us. BO says we are not at war with them. It’s a unilateral thing.
We should take any attack very seriously. It is apologetic to say that it is inevatable. That’s like a former advertisement of don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.

BO thinks that this is a police action. He has announced that US and the UK will set up a police force in Yemen. The AQ in Yemen are absolutely quaking in their shoes.

Will we be a police state? Only the liberals tell us that. They should know. Hitler was a leftist. Remember Volkswagen, the peoples car.

Well I’ve said enough. Thank God you are but one vote!

Contact every single GOP senator and tell them we need the GOP to speak out loudly, strongly, boldly on issues of national security.

Contact your elected officials and make the same statement.

Write letters to the editor and sound the alarm.

Be an agent of change in any groups you are a part of, whether through your place of worship or wherever. It is up to us to keep the issue of national security front and center and we need to find ways to shout about it every single day in any and all ways. Take action and inspire others to do the same.

Until more people lose their jobs, suffer in some way…there will be few changes made. We are a complacent people, unfortunately.
*** Much different than our forefathers. Also, they didn’t have welfare dependent society/people to contend with.

As long as the average person “gets theirs”…there will be no change.

we elected a man not on his qualifications, but his color, that is weakness of moral/ethical fiber, and just plain lack of common sense.
We elected a boy child to be king. He blames his failures on anything but his lack of experience, like the child he is. He will never succeed, or want to.. help our country to the success we were, could be. He surrounds himself with power hungry people. Power at any cost..
Also, to inflict airport securty with unions will be a hugehugehuge mistake.

I believe Obama is a Muslim with a Muslim agenda.

Until this administration touches people “personally”, and not just their neighbor…no change..
As a family, we have prepared the best we can at this point.

We are at war with Islam..to say we are not is a lie.

Thanks to all those who offer suggestions rather than rehashing the problems or blaming others. Calling Reps. and Senators, lighting a fire under govenors, and as noted by “#98″ – “inspire” others to stand tall. All good !

Tragic to see our so-called leaders failing to create a strong and unified front against socialist oriented democrats. One might think that they/Repubs are actually in support of this direction ? While BO can’t bring himself utter the words “Islamic terrorists” or “war on terror”, the opposition can’t figure out how to organize and present a one page list of principles that we can all support. They each mention bits and pieces in random moment of TV exposure. On the other hand they were very well organized to get themselves elected and to continue finding funds for their next election.

I would think that most of those who bothered to take the time to express their thoughts in this comment section could in 5 minutes list and advance a more concise and rational set of principles to oppose the BO crowd than could our pathetic elected officials. So sad to have leaders who don’t lead. No point in keeping them in office.

    NOTE:

Lets have some feedback from “The Rosset Report” as to the nature of our comments. Yes, this is a test to see if Rosset is listening and to see if Rosset is capable of listing solutions vs. observations. Lets not have boilerplate. Please.

The Obama adminstration, the democrat congress, the czars, the entire machine who placed them in power is waiting for that “big one” so they can declare marshal law, suspend the Constitution, and flat out take over under the guise of “protecting us”. Trying to legislate total power hasnt worked out so swell, simply because the vast majority of Americans are beginning to smell that huge pile of dog crap eminating from Washington….and are not sitting back and hoping it goes away. It has just begun.
Sound far fetched? Then take a look at what has been going on for the past year, and it doesnt seem so unlikely, does it? It is going to get messy folks….real messy. And people will finally have to stand on one side of the fence or the other. No more PC, no more tolerance…this fraud of a government is going to make a grab for total control because people can still fight back. They will use terrorism to forward their own goals….it’s easier that way.

It seems silly, but is most likely a sad attempt at putting peoples fears aside. It does seem odd that anyone would call it an isolated extremist if he had already confessed to Al-Qaeda training.
If he trained with Al-Qaeda, then it obviously isn’t isolated.
Isolated is the weird guy you went to high school with who just got dumped by a girl and sneaks onto a plane.

  107. 107. rachel peepers

Apparently, Rachel Peeper’s comments have stepped on two many dainty, sissified, bombastic Obama followers’ toes. Because, within the past week and a half, one of my most vituperative posts has been rejected approximately 22 times here at PJM.

Actually, I’m not terribly surprised that my welcome here is wearing a bit thin because I’ve been dialing my attacks on Obama’s attempt to run this country into the ground to sky high levels of prickly pointed criticism.

Someone was bound to complain. I just don’t have the polite style of one of my idols here, CF Bleachers.

Of course, maybe it’s just an isolated extremist as Obama would say that has liquidated one of my most honest yet prickly narratives. Or perhaps somebody got up on the wrong side of the political bed. Or maybe it’s simply a result of overcooked potato as Dickens would say.

At the same time, the hierarchy here lets Miss numb nuts, a virtual Alice’s Restaurant full of poppycock and mindless missives dish freely amongst decent society; her neanderthal comments thrown around galore, littering up this place with the equivalent of Burger King refuse.

    What’s a girl to do?

Lil’ ole’ Rachel is simply trying to clean up after the Missy who gets herself, (let’s call her Alice) into such a tizzy. I simply and humbly try to set the record straight.

Oh well, perhaps this won’t get through the censors either. What’s put someone here or there into such a hissyfit I’m not really sure. However, if I’ve truly offended some Obamanoid gadfly who’s paid by the dark side (a Star Wars reference) to read stuff at PJM, do I have to tell you how truly sorry I am?

Should I apologize to some Miss McGillicuddy type who monitors things on conservative blogs much like Obama apologizes to tyrants around the world who are sworn enemies of this nation? I hope not.

When all is said and done, I simply expect a President of the United States who takes the oath of office to mean it. Is that asking too much? Maybe it is.

    King
    MacArthur
    Nimitz
    Dwight D. Eisenhower
    General of the Army
    Arnold[4]
    Washington
    Bradley
    Patton

And then there’s Obama. Sissified, puny, socialistic, bombastic puke of a punk.

How in the world do you expect Homeland Security, the FBI or the CIA to perform to its fullest potential when President Obama’s dearest wish
appears to me to be to prosecute any members of these organizations who attempted to the best of their ability to make this country safe from terrorism in the Bush years.

What is Obama if not a leader?

    I believe he’s a fraud.

On Jan. 20th, when he bumbled the words, “preserve, protect and defend the U.S.A. from all enemies foreign and domestic”, he’s lucky he wasn’t hooked up to a lie detector. Truth be known, I believe he uttered hardly one truthful word.

Think about it. To Obama, there’s no longer anything such as terrorism, foreign or domestic just like Fox is not a news station. Preserve protect and defend? Well, do it.

Obama’s high IQ, low, shoe sole low common sense level has not only sent the country into a financial tail spin of biblical proportions, but has, in my opinion, so compromised this nation’s security that we are virtually defenseless. Those whose job it is to keep up safe like the CIA know if they do their job with enthusiasm, courage and honor, that Obama is as likely to have them investigated as he is liable to sign an earmark replete bill, something we all know he pledged never to do.

At the same time, the post Bush security people, the Napolitinos and such, have no security experience and I believe bring to their jobs mostly the desire to cash a pay check and not to check terrorism. And let’s not forget the term, “man made disasters” which it seems only goes to show that Obama and his incompetent henchpeople wouldn’t recognize a terrorist if one bit him on the butt.

People, I believe you’re witnessing a leaderless country, the United States, trying to survive in the most dangerous world we’ve ever known. Letting this go on for another 36 months is, I believe, like playing Russian Roulette with your children’s lives. Believe you me, if a dirty bomb or nuke ICBM hit New York City, Obama might very well retaliate by giving a speech.

He’d probably make it clear that we weren’t sure who attacked us; that he wasn’t about to start an all out nuclear war. Let’s face it,
we’re sitting ducks (I believe) for terrorist attacks because Obama has either attacked the people sworn to defend us or has replaced them with psychofantic incompetents, bureaucrats with a school girl appreciation for how the world works. Janet Napolitano? Give me a break.

In my honest opinion, Pee Wee Herman would do a better job.

Barack Obama? Give me a break. Morris the cat would be a better choice.

How many isolated extremists does it take to make a terror threat? I don’t remember the number of killed , wounded or whose murders almost were committed by the Arkansas isolated extremist, the Ft. Hood isolated extremist or the underwear isolated extremist but it seems we are coming close to having an awful lot of people killed , wounded or threatened with death by a series of relatively young males with a similar Islamic madness as their motivation. Statistically , we are seeing a trend , not isolated incidents. Let’s take a look at all the pictures of all these same type of folks and look into their countries or origin and religion or other things they have in common. Post their pictures everywhere and lets all get familiar with exactly who makes up all these isolated threats.
