34. rachel peeps:
Vivo,

I assume your addressing the post at #23. If so, here is what I offer: I (skeeziks) am not vivo. Nor am I moho. I have used other names in the past and will use other names in the future. But in the interest of extracting you from the certainty and insanity of ward residents like Mr Lucky and misanthropicus, I give you that truth to use as you see fit.

As for being on the wrong side, I have no love for Democrats or Republicans, extremists of any kind, but I find conservatives to be more odious at this moment in history. Why? Because they’re committed to a scorched earth policy of obstructionism. They have only one interest and that is to bring down Obama and the Democrats. Why? Because Obama is willfully trying to destroy America. Why would he want to destroy America? For power! That’s ridiculous. And yet the histrionics continue unabated courtesy of the Limbaughs and Hannitys and O’Reillys and Becks and Palins of the right wing media establishment – I consider them all to be 24-carat phonies. And yet their base of who I consider to be the willfully gullible lap it up like syrup. Why? Because they get to call each other “a great American.” Nothing more than condescending disingenuous pap. (My favorite of all time – Hannity volunteering to be waterboarded for charity and then backing out. For me, there is no more obvious example of their true nature)

So, in this zero-sum game, everybody has picked a side. I believe I’m on the side of potential and justice and compassion and innovation and trying to leverage America’s people and resources as we move into the global economy of the 21st century. And I believe the mess Bush left is undeniable, and far worse than any of us were led to believe 18 months ago. The Republicans are like a bunch of frat boys who throw a kegger and then complain that “somebody” else hasn’t cleaned the house by the time they wake up the next day.

From one Illinoisan to another, now you know.
