Its not the waste or fraud in UN peacekeeping operations that concerns me. I expect large amounts of waste and fraud in any govermental/UN operation. I’m certain there was frightful waste and tremendous fraud in US military procurement during WW2, but we WON the war.

What concerns me the most about UN Peacekeepers is the total lack of any sucessful operations against in the places that matter to us most…Hamas was able to arm itself for years with large, (truck transported!) Syrian/Iranian missiles that went right past the “peacekeepers” patrolling southern Lebannon. Peacekeepers who’s presence and explicit purpose was to PREVENT such arms transports, as per the deal to end the ’83 war with Israel…They’ll stop kicking terrorists A**es, if you (the UN) enforce an arms embargo.

Well, we all saw how well THAT worked a couple years back, right? No shortage of Hamas missles in that splendid little war, was there? It only ended with yet another UN agreement to oversee prevention of weapons shipments in exchange for Israeli restraint. Same story with Hamas in Gaza. Everyone knows the’ll agree to anything to stop the (righteous) kicking of their terroristic butts in exchange for the hollow promises of “peacekeepers” to “monitor” things. But we all know when the UN AND the terrorists have no intention of stopping anything.

Remember,UN peacekeeping “boots on the ground” are Either :

A) from 3rd world countries that sympathisze with the terrorists, or:

B) From the so-called “armed forces” of Europe, which, unfortunately, consist of little more than Generals and/or and Marching Bands.

I would tolerate the waste and fraud among the “peacekeepers”, if they actually acomplished a real mission, but they never have.
