Indeed . . .

We castigate our leaders, and the intelligence agencies that are supposed to inform them, for not having connected the dots and prevented 9/11.

We cast helplessly about for “reasons” — dots to connect — for what underlay the horrific events at VTU in order to prevent a repetition (a comforting fantasy, perhaps, but scarcely a realistic possibility, given the infinite ways a nut case has to produce carnage).

And, in the case of Iran, we have dots a-plenty, enough to create an unbroken line.

And what do we do?
