Shilling for Kim Jong Il: Why is the UN Development Program Advertising the Singing Young Cadres of Pyongyang?

Does the UN ever learn?
If only I were so optimistic as to believe that the problem with the UN is one of learning — as in, if they just understood, they’d correct their ways.
Alas, this is another one of those problems that is independent of education. It is a problem of values, and the UN and you (and I) are not on the same value page.
I’m so cynical that it’s crystal clear to me that they have learned — that they’re doing exactly what they intend to do. And my cynicism’s all your fault, Claudia . . . or at least mostly so
.

Maybe it’s time to rename the UNDP, which too often seems to function less like a development program than an agency for UN Dictators & Propaganda.
I’d love to see a resolution to that effect.
What fun it would be if John Bolton were still our UN ambassador, and could act with a totally free hand. He could call for such a resolution. It’d fail, of course, but it’d sure give me pleasure to see him argue the case.
How low have I sunk in the Pool of Cynicism?
