This would be considered a quaint, even risible, question in circles in and around the UN, but does Kofi pay taxes? And if so, where? And if so, there must be physical tax return filings. And if there is one trait that IRS types share the world over, no matter where they practice their dark arts, it is an insatiable lust for paper, both of the folding money variety, and the information imparting sort. The latter type from Kofi’s tax returns would make fascinating reading. Surely, there must be some enterprising souls toiling for Sen. Norm Coleman’s committee, or for the CIA, or for Treasury, who might try going after this paper chase, all quite legally, of course? And who then would share the fruits of their efforts with the Congressional Record? I live in hope, though hard reality chortles in my ear, tu rêves, ma chère, tu rêves….
