Claudia Rosett has done an important service by eloquently distinguishing the critical difference between the late Ron Silver and the smug, self-satisfied, supercillious minions of an entertainmentn industry which has become an icon for glib fecklessness.

It wouldn’t bother me so much to be imposed on to hear the puerile views of Brad Pitt, Ben Afflek, Tim Robbins et al had any of these people troubled to ask even the most evident and obvious questions of the regnant orthodoxy, rather than revel in self-righteousness following recitation of the hoary mantras they intone with such overblown affect.

Too bad Ron Silver is no longer around to, by and for his living example, put in sharp relief what hypocrits these glorified idiots really are.
