I have posted this comment on another thread on PM, but I posting it again here becasue it seems very relevant to this thread, too.:

I happened to see an interview with Imam Rauf last night, and this tool basically threatened us “unbelievers” here in the U.S., by saying that, since he and his Muslim backers have proposed building a Mosque at/near Ground Zero, any action taken by us here in the U.S. to stop its building would now cause a violent reaction by Islamists, violence directed both at our troops abroad and us here at home.

In other words, “do what we say or you’ll get hurt.”

Thinly veiled threats like this may work today in Spain, or France or England, but I doubt that they will work here just yet.
