Yes, on Monday Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad plans to touch down in Turkey.  Seems like the Turkish and Iranian governments just can’t get enough of each other these days. This visit follows the Turkish-led furor of the past week over the Gaza Flotilla, complete with its terror-linked Turkish “peace activists,” dispatched with the blessings of Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a setup for a showdown meant to vilify Israel, no matter how it played out. That followed the sham uranium-swap deal in which the President Lula of Brazil and Erdogan & team of Turkey popped up arm-in-arm with Ahmadinejad in Tehran on May 17th, announcing a bargain that would effectively buy more time for the Iranian nuclear program, without doing anything to stop Tehran’s bomb projects.

And now, Ahmadinejad goes to Istanbul. The ostensible reason for his trip is a three-day summit of the CICA, or Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. What?! You’ve never heard of it? THE CICA is a forum first proposed to the United Nations in 1992, by President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan. It has 20 member states, including Israel, Iran, Russia, China, Afghanistan, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey. And its summit these next three days has all the makings of yet another round of beating up on Israel, while serving to further distract attention from the approaching June 12 anniversary of last year’s rigged presidential election in Iran, and the ensuing protests and Iranian government crackdown, with its bloody shootings, beatings, arrests, torture and deaths.

At this CICA summit, Kazakhstan will be handing off the presidency of the forum to Turkey — providing Erdogan with yet another platform to grandstand as a rising power-broker of that multipolar world which President Barack Obama is seeking for us all. Reuters reports that though Syria is not a member, Syria’s dictator (a.k.a. President) Bashar Assad “is attending as a guest.” A Turkish pro-government newspaper, Today’s Zaman, reports on its English-language online edition that “the agenda of the meeting in Turkey is expected to cover discussions over nuclear weapons.”

Anyone care to bet that this discussion of nuclear weapons  – a la United Nations Nonproliferation Treaty Review — will somehow manage to detour around the nuclear bomb projects of Iran’s terror-based tyranny, and instead focus on disarming democratic Israel?

According to Reuters, Israel is sending a consular official to the CICA summit. Sounds like body armor would hardly be enough.

The CICA shindig — Ahmadinejad, Assad, Erdogan et al – will be followed by, or, as Reuters puts it, “the diplomatic momentum will continue” with, a meeting in Istanbul on Wednesday of Arab League foreign ministers, coming to take part in the Turkish-Arab Cooperation forum.

This is the New Order now taking shape in the places where Obama has been at such pains to apologize for and ratchet down American leadership. Anyone feeling safer now?

Seems pretty obvious what the intent of this gruesome gathering has in mind.

  2. 2. tpitman

Smart power . . . as exercised by every third-rate dictator in the world. Did Barry see this coming, or was he too preoccupied with correcting his slice after telling the world that we’re not the world’s policeman anymore and for them to fill in the gaps?

  3. Somehow I get this feeling that we’re not living in 2010 but in 1939, when Italy joined Germany in a treaty (the infamous “Pact of Steel”) to assist each other in carving up most of Europe. I get this sad impression that Turkey has now decided that the west is done and that Iran is going to be the new power in both the Middle East and possibly even Western Europe. Turkey probably believes that it should throw in its lot with Iran now, while the getting is good, rather than after Iran gets nuclear weapons and becomes the de facto ruler of the Middle East.

You may not agree with that assessment, but it does seem a little strange that now, of all times, Turkey is getting so friendly with Iran. After all, they did just sign that agreement with Brazil to process nuclear fuel for Iran, a move that stunned Western Europe. Now Turkey is making overt noises regarding Israel about the blockade of Gaza and the Palestinians. Tell me, is there something Turkey knows that we don’t know? Is Iran about to become a nuclear power and Turkey wants to get in on the ground floor as Iran expands its power in the Middle East? Or is it that Turkey now believes that the West is a paper tiger, much like Turkey itself was during World War I, and is on the edge of collapse? Sad to say, but I think it’s a little of both, and we’re all in for rough times ahead. Don’t you feel real safe that we have someone like Obama representing us right now? Lord help us all.

      LS46,

Instead of 1939, how about June 1914? I agree with your assessment. There have been too many cozy contacts (or alliances?) made in the last decade between dictatorial countries. China has toured the globe and spreading its ‘soft power’ (Africa, Central and South America, and the Middle East). Russia and China are sharing technology giving China’s military a boost and Russia some hard cash–these two countries are our primary concern. And then there is Iran playing its hand at developing an second tier of antagonists (Syria, the terror organizations Hammas and Hezbollah, Turkey, Venezuala, and Brazil). Egypt is on the edge of turning and North Korea is somewhat independent of this second tier block (they are still China’s wild child). I believe Russia and China are just patiently waiting for the big event to make their moves.

There is a sense of weakness eminating from the United States and it didn’t start in 2009; it is however exacerbated by the current administration. Our foreign policy has been inconsistent and presidential administrations since 1990 have failed to develop an effective post-Cold War strategy. Unfortunately, I believe that we will be forced into adopting one in the near future that is not our choice . When the @$#! hits the fan all the goons are going to come out of the woodwork to collect what they want from their neighbors. This time, I’m not sure the West has the fighting spirit to do anything about it.

sooner or later it’s gonna start dawning on people, though… the whole holocaust/israel/samson option song-and-dance is great cover for the biggest looting operation in history.

you got to admit that it’s been one of the most successful propaganda operations ever: support for israel gives you immunity from criticism, because criticism of any jew anywhere can be spun by the propaganda organs as “antisemitism”.

kids in a candy store, turned loose without supervision.

it’s just too bad that israel’s actions are so damaging to the cover story… but given the underlying philosophy of zionism, how could it pan out any other way?

and the looters have probably had it figured out from the beginning… it’s likely they’ve been planning this operation, including something like 9/11, since american oil production peaked in the early 70s… your PNAC buddies were stupid enough to admit they needed “a new pearl harbor” in september of 2000… and then they were installed into positions from which they could make their new pearl harbor happen and manage the investigation.

    slick

anyhow, to feel safe, we have to figure out who’s a believer, and who’s only using israel, the holocaust and jewishness as a cover for the looting operation… and if it’s true believers that have their fingers on the samson option trigger, we’re in trouble.

in the meantime, israelis are gonna start realizing that the looters are damaging israel’s protection, which is, basically, the american economy that supports the israeli american army.

looks like a losing proposition, all round… and there’s no cure for it, unless some genius comes up with something to replace the oil.

    • Turtler

Typical anti-semitism: act through code words, make vague allegations, and back up said allegations with absolutely NOTHING.

      • flickervertigo

        Typical anti-semitism

        i rest my case.

        • You have perhaps one of the most incoherent list of ramblings accusing Israel of most of the world’s ills, including 9/11. In case you haven’t noticed, it is not Israel but their enemies that constantly bring the holocaust into every political discussion imaginable. I could point out the obvious, but hey; you feel that calling someone out on anti-semitic rhetoric should be out of bounds, no matter how compellingly deranged it is. I’ll skip it then.

I would like to know how many hours a day they let you on the computer at the clinic, exactly?

        • K.T.

          “I rest my case.”

          ——————-

It is unfortunate you even tried to make one – it folded like a cheap kite in a light breeze.

      • Ruebacca

        what loot?

The English mandate in Jordan was a sewer in the 1920s just as Gaza and the West bank are today.

  5. 5. Adina Kutnicki, Israel

I have a theory, but it may very well be based on the reality unfolding before our eyes.

Consider the timing of the latest (there have been many others of late)Turkish terror flotilla provocation, coincidence, I think not. Iran is about to be hit with another round of sanctions.Toothless as they will be, they are still a crimp in the wheels which spin the centrifuges, and time is now of the essence, as they race across the WMD finish line.

Note, the constant shuffling back and forth between Turkey high level officials and Iranian counterparts. Is it possible, that at their various meetings, they cooked up a scheme, so brazen, so bold, that most would be shocked ! shocked by its audacity and simplicity?

Turkey has been moving into the Islamic orbit for years, however, as long as they were able to game Washington fantasists, Jerusalem etc they were fine with that. After all, money talks and military systems are very much needed. However, Iran is impatient to get them on board to make their final break with the west.

Enter the terror flotilla under Turkish auspices – the terror duo understood that Israel would be vilified in the docket of world opinion simply for responding to their aggression.Consequently, while the world is wagging their fingers at Israel, Iran is then able to slip into action by coming to the ‘activists aid’, under the guise of humanitarian relief,as the UN gathers for ‘sanctions’.A perfect distraction, an even more perfect foil.

In any case, I predict that a high drama on the higher seas is about to unfold, a cassus belle of sorts, the opening that Iran is looking for to ‘defend’ the aggrieved Gazans, all the while signalling to Hizbullah and Hamas to join in.
Think about it. For IF this terror duo (and their proxies) were able to amass world opinion in warp speed against Israel last week, how much more so (kal v’chomer) will they be able to scream “we were only defending the Gazans”, all the while starting a shooting with Israeli Naval Commandos?

Lest anyone dare to think that DM Barak will revisit the paintball fiasco, think again.Barak understands that his political life will be over IF he allows more Commandos to be used as PC pawns. Therefore, expect our High Command to give the orders to sink the boats coming with Turkish & Iranian soldiers, as the acts of war that they truly are.

A good indication of what is about to happen is in the response the same Shayetet Commandos had today, as they eliminated the Gazan terrorists sailing towards Israeli land for a mega terror attack.

    • Bear

Sadly, I think you’re correct…Been thinking that for a while and now the pre-text has arrived.

    • miguelj

Turkey can probably be deterred from starting a war by Western pressure + its own internal politics.
Iran might *want* to start a naval battle, but they would surely lose, plus they’d be handing Israel a pretext to bomb its nuclear facilities. Moreover, it’s a long way from Iran by sea. Shorter if they go thru Suez, but why would Egypt let them do that? They do have naval bases in Syria, but the Syrians must know that Israel, with its back to the wall, would destroy the Assad clique utterly. So the odds still favor a cold peace.

  6. 6. flickervertigo

basically, what it boils down to, is: israel and israeli america are simply too chickenshit to survive, and it looks like there’s lots of people in the world who would rather fight than become chickenshit, themselves.

the looters realize all that, they know a lost cause when they see one, so they’re concentrating on the main thing: money.

    like it or lump it.

but, to prove how virtuous you are, you israelis can blow up a few million people as you go under.

    good deal

    • Bear

Put alot of thought into that one, eh?

      • flickervertigo

chickenshitedness is in the eye of the beholder.

israel and israeli americans have lied america into one war, and are attempting to lie us into another.

the cause of this commotion was 9/11, which was most likely –once you consider motive, means, opportunity, character and prior convictions– a false flag, and that operation, whatever it was, so thrilled bibi that he said it was “very good”.

that looks like chickenshit to lots of people, and it’s not so surprising that they reject it.

you’re losing control, and it’s gonna be awful hard to put the genie back in the bottle if israel keeps screwing up.

but maybe the screwups are an indication of how desperate they are, maybe they realize this is their last chance.

meanwhile, the looters are sapping the strength of israel’s defense… and while looting is chickenshit enough, the samson option would be the mother of all chickenshit operations.

        • Larry in the Silicion

My guess is you are GL Marks, but there are enough of you that it doesn’t matter. However, it’s a good guess given that the feeling of being insulted is often enough for a coward like you to pick another screen name and go back to work.

If 9-11 was an inside job, then it was an American inside job, not an Israeli one.

Of course, monsters like you can not contemplate that your anti-Israeli President is actually anti-Israeli, because it destroys your theories.

Your constant mixing of money, looting and claims of Jewish conspiracies says it all…

The big problem for the American State and its government is whether the Obama should bow first to the Iranian leader or the Turkish leader. Bowing to moslem dictators seems to be the top of the list for the Obama government or maybe Hilary could wag her finger once more; finger wagging has been made an art in this Obama government.

  8. 8. Bill

I think its past time to get them out of NATO and the table their application to the EU, don’t you?

    • Old Soldier

The EU was probably never going to let Turkey in during the best of times. Now with most of their southern members on the verge of economic collapse, there is no way another weak economy (run by radical Islamics) is ever going to be admitted.

I agree on the NATO comment. If the alliance is going to remain relevant to the protection of the free-world, it should include Georgia and the Ukraine, and toss out the Turks. If you really want to stick it to Turkey – throw them out and admit Cyprus.

      • Bill

“If you really want to stick it to Turkey – throw them out and admit Cyprus.”

        Or better still, Armenia…

Hey, it’s all Bush’s fault! Obama will be the first President re-elected in history for simply inheriting all the mistakes of a past president and studiously spending a whole term in office correcting those mistakes, and making the errors worse. It’s like it never happened before–a previous president who got everything wrong replaced by a saint who gets everything right. It’s not the Obama presidency! It’s the Obama anti-Bush presidency by proxy! It’s President Right versus President Wrong while meeting the liberal’s highest ethical form of racism: right color, wrong man for the job. If it were not for Bush, Obama would never get anything right!

  11. 11. Old Soldier

I keep telling anyone who will listen – never show weakness to a Muslim, or anyone else in the Middle East. They see opportunity and will pounce. They do not share our western ideas of mercy and justice and it is foolish to act like they do. Given the opportunity, they would dance and cheer while killing Jewish children.

They understand strength. They understood the Bush’s were fairly strong and they know Obama is pitifully weak.

If you want to be strong, screw with the Iranians. I think we should drop updated Liberator pistols anywhere there is resistance to the Iranian government. Get the revolution going and blow a hole in this unholy alliance. Alas, this President does not have the guts – so the bad guys will go as far and fast as they can for the next 2 and a half years.

  12. 12. tanstaafl

This is the New Order now taking shape in the places where Obama has been at such pains to apologize for and ratchet down American leadership. Anyone feeling safer now?

Given the demonstrated personality characteristics of this President, John Bolton sets out a plausible thesis for much of this US administration’s public posturing on Israel.

    Letting Israel Hang

“There is equally little doubt that Obama himself is susceptible to these kinds of foreign pressures, especially when withstanding them might cause his own international image to suffer. Here, Israel is merely collateral damage in guarding the cult of our first post-American president.”

    • flickervertigo

given the support obama got from goldman sachs –the main looter outfit– it could be that the big money guys have written israel off… which would explain why they’re content to loot even if it damages israel’s chances of survival.

About 2,130,000 results on a google search of obama campaign contributions from goldman sachs

      *shrug*

  13. 13. Ruebacca

The Arab royalty failed to destroy Israel in the 1947 war and were deposed. Monarchies in Egypt, Syria and Iraq fell. Then the nationalists failed to destroy Israel in 1967-73. Now it is the age of the clerics, the religious leaders are have promised to do the job.

Israel you will face a nuclear war. You need to accept that fact and get ready. When it comes you need to utterly destroy the Arab world. No one will deserve destruction more than the hate filled lunitcs of Islam.

  14. 14. flickervertigo

anyhow, here’s a sketch of what seems to be happening…

global oil production has apparently peaked… production has been flat since 2004, despite horrific increases in the price… so either there’s a problem with production, or somebody has repealed the law of supply and demand.

so, if oil production has peaked, and america is fatally dependent on cheap oil, and israel is fatally dependent on american protection, that means that both israel and america are goners, so you might as well loot while the looting’s good.

all that’s left to do is to manipulate the markets and the economy to maximize opportunities to loot, while making sure you avoid a global nuke war that would screw things up for everybody.

as usual, the deathwish christians and deathwish samson option israelis are the wild cards.

Turkey getting into bed with Iran is a scenario, that if I was an arab leader, would be very nervous about. Turkey is trying to re-establish itself as the Ottoman Empire and all its accompanying glories. So you have two non-arab states controlling the Middle East. I think the arabs, as limited as they are in common sense, still have less than fond memories of being under Ottoman control and what that meant. The cheering in the arab bleechers will soon come to a stop.

  16. 16. flickervertigo

if somebody had been plotting for the last 80 years to discredit radical jews, they couldnt have come up with a better scheme than this situation: israel, the samson option, AEI/PNAC zionists, peak oil, and israeli control of american congress and media.

you got to wonder how so many smart people got sucked into such a bad idea.

What will the Moslem loving US President do about it? Will he come clean and tell the public? I mean at this point Bin Laden, Iran, Turkey, Israel et al all know Bin Laden is in Iran and only the American people do not know.

The mountainous town of Savzevar in the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan, that is where Osama Bin Laden lives under Iranian protection.

The USA is desparate to keep the dictators in Iran, that parade as religious, in power at all cost; The USA does not want Bin Laden…alive, he would spill some pretty ugly beans…
