All residents of the building where I live, distinctly and practically every day, hear a Turkish mother beaten up by her husband to the point to at least lose her head-cover! I might also mention that the neighborhood confronts such turbulences by the massive arrival of Moslem families from all nations.
…I live in France and thought was far from fanaticism. Iran is resisting alone the virus. Let’s hope Iranian people win this UNHOLY war for YOU, empty-handed!!!

If Turkey goes Mr.Rubin, so goes the US power in the entire middle east! mind as well pack up and leave now!
If Turkey goes so will the state of Israel as we know it.
It will not survive an entire radicalized block from afghanistan to Iraq; for that matter nor would anybody else!
If Islamic nationalism replaces nation-state nationalism as (Turkish nationalism) the whole Western world needs to worry!
If Ataturk abolished the caliphate and Churchill said we defeated this force that threatened Western Civilization by our sheer technological military might in the turn of the century; the entire West needs to worry not concerned!

From 669-718 the Umayyads, under the banner of jihad, mounted a series of sieges against Christian Byzantine Constantinople all of which failed during the first period of Islamic Jihad conquest under the first Caliph, Abu Bakr, the first Muslim ruler after Muhammad. Since the Muslim understanding of jihad demanded that successful conquest, as ordained by God, must be inevitable, it eventually was! Although Turkey, on paper, has been considered a secular state, anyone of the remaining Christians living in Turkey that hasn’t been murdered yet will tell you that long ago, the Muslims have been running things from the street level to the military. Hence, discussing the political future of Turkey in terms of when it will become a one Religion state seems fruitless since it’s only a matter of time before the Islamist take political control by force or by numbers.

I think that the army should draw a line in the sand: the president must be solidly secular, or the government gets replaced for a year or three with guys in uniform. Inshallah.
