So here we are two years later and Obama has continued fighting the war and has been at the helm for the deaths of Bin Laden and a bunch of other most-wanted terrorists. I assume you feel like a total douche for your silly, unsubstantiated tirade? Probably not.

"Yes, some people should be killed, but I meant not INNOCENT people..."

Yeah, that's the sort of stuff liberal Democrat types are always saying...then they drop an atomic bomb in the middle of a city.

Your response lacks style, cleverness, or any hint of sophistication. Unless we see some improvement in your prose, we'll have to ask you to leave.

98. Marvin Breggman:
101. rbell:

You got me confused with GW Bush.

105. Chris in Dallas:

“Killing people doesn’t solve any problems.”

You know the statement is generic. Yes, some people should be killed, but I meant not INNOCENT people, like genocides, terrorist acts, etc.

Mikos. I knew your uncle. He was a really terrific guy. Sweet. We had a 'thing'. The night before he flipped we were out to dinner. He seemed 100% OK. We were talking about the future, etc. Then, he got stangely silent. I thought it was the food (lamb carpaccio). He just pushed it around his plate. Didn't eat any. Didn't want to taste my souvlaki. Didn't touch his entree. Didn't even kiss me goodnight. But he did mention that he was thinking of giving me his condo. What do you think?

Jeepers Creepers:

"When the terrorist attack on Ft. Hood was carried out, as stated so well here at PJM, Obama should have apologized for it happening during his watch; for his failures."

Why him and why now? Why not the other him back then?

My uncle Yannos just snapped. One day, he was just a happy-go-lucky guy, earning a decent living, living in an upscale condo in a big city, and then one day, he just snapped. No warning. No strange behaviour. No subtle signs of mental anguish. He showed up for work every day. Put in overtime too. Paid his bills on time. No debts. No female problems. Excellent health. But one day he just totally lost it. Snapped.. So we had to put him down. he was my favorite unlce. I got his condo. I loved uncle Yannos.

"The reason the Obama Administration and his ultra-liberal base and the mainstream media will NEVER admit or acknowledge that Hasan is a terrorist and that Hasan’s shooting rampage was a terrorist act, is because that would then tell the American voting public that only 10 months into Obama’s presidency, we experienced a serious terrorist attack at home (and, of all places, in a military base)."

What are you talking about? The president came down here to Killeen and delivered a pretty emotional eulogy in which he did exactly that. I sat with my fellow soldiers and watched it in person.

Personally, I don't believe Hassan's attack was a terrorist incident any more than I believe that it was a terrorist attack here about 18 years ago in Killeen when George Hennard drove his pickup truck through the Luby's, opened fire on the diners, and killed 23 and wounded 20 more. Or the guy who went into that McDonald's in San Diego and killed all of those people.

Sometimes, people just snap. They are unstable to begin with (in Nidal's case, it has been documented that his fellow mental health professionals were worried about his stability) and they just snap. And there is no motive of terrorism behind it. It happens in free societies when enough people have access to enough guns. A certain small percentage, it seems to me, will snap and --- because the means of mass death are so easy to obtain --- other people pay a huge price. It's a price that we pay for not allowing an undue amount of restrictions on our personal liberties and freedom and one I am willing to pay.

But, having pondered the situation nearly every waking moment for the last 10 days or so and from being here on base and talking to people it seems to me that there was no terror (i.e. political motive) here but, rather, somebody who just lost it.

And yes, I am headed back to Iraq next month.
