Why Do American Feminists Support the Misogynistic Iranian Regime?
Today, I received an email from an Iranian friend excited about the fact that at last American feminists seemed to be standing up for the women of Iran.
I was truly surprised recently upon hearing that Gloria Steinem finally decided to get involved and after so many years of silence is considering speaking out against the human rights violations that Iranian women have faced for thirty years.
For decades we have campaigned against the atrocities inflicted on the people of Iran, but American feminists have shown little interest in addressing the ever-worsening plight of the Iranian women and children since the 1979 Khomeinist takeover. Their silence has been deafening.
As I read further into Steinem’s petition, I saw the name “Code Pink” and recognized the signature manipulations of that organization’s co-founder, the extremely wealthy Susan “Medea” Benjamin, who has been in bed with some of the most notorious promoters of the Iranian regime in the West.
I first met Benjamin in front of the U.S. Congress when she tried vehemently to stop me from entering into the Capitol building. I gave her one of my cards and tried to discuss with her the fact that women in Iran lack the most basic human rights. I told her if she truly cared she could help us Iranian women in the U.S. assist women inside Iran. And instead of being open to listening she gave me nothing more than the self-interested Code Pink prescription for Iranians.
A month later I heard Ms. Benjamin was attending a conference on Iran set up by the most ill-reputed Iranian regime lobby, National Iranian American Council, NIAC.
Meanwhile, to add insult to injury, we discovered that Code Pink had taken one of the better-known photos of a women’s group protest inside Iran from 2006 and photoshopped it, erasing the original slogans of human rights and freedom written on a placard and replacing them with their own self-serving, anti-American message. They put Cheshire cat smiles on the faces and mouths of these innocent Iranian women and added in dancing American Code Pinkos without hijabs, rather than leaving the original images of the protesting Iranian women.
Code Pink’s efforts to show Iranian women happy, singing, with a “choice” of hijab, and protesting against America (and not the dictators of Iran) were clearly and obviously disconcerting to say the least.
After a coffee and cake party in New York that Penny Pritzker (her family owns the Hyatt chains) had for Ahmadinejad in September of 2008, Ms. Benjamin and Code Pink co-founder Jodie Evens received personal invitations by the Iranian president to travel to Iran as his guests. A few months later, while the members of Code Pink were merrily having meetings with the members of the ruling clergies and Revolutionary Guards Corps and sightseeing by private planes and special motorcades in Iran, Fatemeh Haghighatpajou was hanged to death for defending her daughter from a rapist.
In her reports, Ms. Benjamin had nothing but praise for her hosts. Not a single word about the treatment of women or the misogynistic laws by her host government. When she came back, she proudly announced that her travel agency would conduct historical sightseeing tours to Iran.
How disingenuous to pretend they are for the people of Iran while it is just a ploy by the Iranian dictators and the so-called American “progressives” to help extend the dictatorship of one of the most misogynistic regimes in the world!
Why is it that these ideologically motivated people in the West have acquiesced to the Iranian regime’s ploys to disregard all human rights? By coalescing with the Khomeinist dictators, these so-called feminists deny to the people of Iran the very same rights they claim to demand for themselves.
During the last 33 years, the Iranian regime has pushed Iran into an eight-year bloody war, murdering over one million Iranians (and Iraqis). They have isolated the Iranian people from the international community while their own children and relatives have grown wealthy and traveled the world freely. They have caused numerous economic sanctions on the people of Iran. While robbing the country blind, they have spent the rest of the country’s assets in the international market to buy missiles, nuclear materials, and terrorist attacks. They have destroyed all the manufacturing of Iran by gutting industries in order to secure the support of the Chinese. Is this an Iranian government or a foreign occupier of Iran?
Now we hear their propaganda through American progressives and feminists who are campaigning against the possibility of war, pretending they care about the people of Iran.

The answer is easy. There has been a Far Left-Radical Muslim alliance for a number of years now. They are political and spiritual bedfellows.

Benjamin’s a commie, lock, stock, and smoking barrel who views Islam as a truncheon to wield against Western Culture. She of course believes herself, like all these faux activists of the left, to be eventually part of the ruling class that gets to decide what is good for everyone, while she lives on in opulence. I have no tolerance for these dogs.
Just like the PDPA in Afghanistan, the Communists are sure they’ll be able to control Islam after the glorious revolution. They won’t, but that won’t change them. However, to answer the question of why radical feminist women’s groups step over misogynist dollars trying to find another Christian dime, it’s because ideology trumps the stated cause, which is really nothing more than a facade.
Notice how quiet Code Pink has been since the anointed one took office?
If you watch Glenn Beck, then you already know that the Democrats have an alliance with the communists, anarchists, unions, women’s groups, and Islamists. They want a revolution against all of Western Civilization. As he says the revolution will be bottom up (OWS, etal), Top Down (military, bureaucracy – O’Dismal commands them all), and inside out.

As for the Code Pink Fauxtography, Leftists in general see no problem with manipulating, distorting or outright inventing the “news” as they wish it to be. Problem is. they really aren’t set up to deal with losing the hearts and minds of the society until they (Leftists) are firmly ecsonced in power and have all of the guns.

Iran Inc. controls opposing views, but I don’t think they believe in both. (Or maybe they do!) Anyway I can see how interventions are sometimes justified. Where it ends, and who decides what cultures need “democratizing” is still very concerning to me.
What really scares me is that the general public doesn’t look at this alliance between the American Left and Islam and think, “Something weird is going on!” The Christians ESPECIALLY should take note of it and be suspicious! Two sides that hate them and should, by all measures, hate each other are sitting down to have lunch and whispering. Doesn’t that spell trouble?
It just shows that hatred of Christianity is trump card for feminists AND Iranian fundamentalists. The rest of the issues are just details to be hammered out later.
Like Stalin and Churchill, who disagreed on everything else, agreed that the number one priority was getting rid of Hitler. All other differences are put aside until the completion of the primary task. With feminists and radical Muslims getting rid of Judeo-Christian influence is number one priority.
I’m sure both parties know they’ll go their separate ways once “evil” Christians are vanquished. It’s a temporary alliance of convenience.
You assume Christians are not already Communists (or marinating in a stew of Social Justice socialism). There are A LOT of churches who preach collecitivism.
There’s a good reason for that. Marxist collectivism comes directly from the Bible, specifically the Acts of the Apostles.

If you can’t see the difference between a few people choosing to live in a commune and a governement using military force to command everyone in a nation to behave as a commune, then all I have to say is: How’s that first year of college working out for you? Having fun? Did you get a copy of Kafka book and write “So true!” in the margins?
But that is the modus operandi of Liberalism in the USA (perhaps the world). Which is that for every good idea they think they have. It will only work as they want if they can force everyone to agree through political controls.
They think that it’s unhealthy to drink large amounts of sodas. They are not content drinking little or none themselves. They must FORCE everyone else to do so as well.
They think they should pay more in taxes, yet it’s not enough for them to just turn over massive amounts of money from their own paychecks. They must FORCE everyone to do so.
They think that women should have free birth control, but it’s not enough for them to pay for it, they must FORCE everyone to pay for it. And on, and on and on.
In this case you have some that think that it would be wonderful to live in a commune. And yet it’s not enough for those that do want to live in a commune to do so. Instead it must be FORCED upon everyone through some sort of sliding scale of communism/socialism/totalitarianism (they all tend to run together in the end).
That level of photoshopping should be considered criminal defamation. If a photograph is considered speech under constitutional law, then surely editing a photo to the point that the people in it are made to look like patsies for a regime they’re actually protesting would constitute libel.
“Code Pink” has never been about sticking up for women. Can we please stop referring to it as a “feminist” organization? It can call itself want it wants, but we shouldn’t tow the line in any way. May I suggest a new descriptive moniker? “Crazy People” or maybe “Very Sick Women”. Breitbart was correct: it’s not really about issues, it’s about culture. Benjamin and her Crazy People hate God, hate powerful white men, hate capitalism, really hate Jews, and so on. That’s what the left (and the far right) is all about. An astute author once wrote that the polictical spectrum is not a line “with a left and a right”. It’s really more akin to a circle, where the left and right actully meet. That’s how close their ideologies really are. That while Ulrike Meinhof, a founder of the far left and violent German urban guerrila group the Red Army Faction, tesified at a trial in the 70′s that the Holocaust was justifiable, because people “were angry that they didn’t have money, thus they were right to take their anger out on the people who did….the Jews” (paraphrasing). Leftist indeed! That’s why Horst Mahler, another Red Army Faction big-wig is now a member of a far right German Nazi party. It’s all the same sh*t. Hitler was not far from Stalin in basic ideology. So let’s not get angry or peeved that The Sick People of Code Pink aren’t really sticking up for women. They’re doing EXACTLY what the aim to do: destroy Jews and America. Sick people….make sure you keep your powder dry.
Somebody (like Media Matters) pays those Code Pink type chicks to go to Iran and yak with Arachnid-jihad.
The booted out nutcase Congresscritter Cynthia McKinney (state of Georgia) went to Iran and then proceeded to make some outrageous claims or other (relative to Israel ?) that surpassed even the outrageous claims that got her booted out of office in the first place.
She was sponsored and paid to travel there and then say some kind of garbage, just like the Code Pinkers.
Diane Sawyer scored a big interview w/Arachnid for which she donned a headscarf. The Spider guy basically mocked her for the duration.
Talk about tools, all these self-proclaimed liberated women are being used, like fools.
We learned once and for all during the exposé of Bill Clinton’s shenanigans that liberal women hacks (i.e., NOW) would never condemn a politician they viewed as in their camp, one fighting for their so called “issues”.
FYI: Penny Pritzker was a fund raiser for the 2008 Obama for President campaign. In addition,her family is the benefactor for the University Of Chicago Medical School and Pritzker School of medicine and the Hospital system. U. of C. Hospitals employed Mrs. Obama, who was instrumental in devising the patient dumping scheme to save money for the hospital and dump patients to other local hospitals.
Here in Boston, the Hyatt Hotel had big problems with union busting at the same time that Pritzker was National Finance Chair for Obama prior to the ’08 election. The Boston Globe failed to see the irony in this, with chambermaids with 20 years service losing their jobs while Obama claimed to be the savior of the working poor. These people are scum.
And yet I still support Cindy Sheehan for Congress because there’s no way we can get a Republican elected in San Francisco and she’s far less dangerous than Nancy Pelosi because even the Democrats know Sheehan is crazy.
Well, there’s an easy way to see how dedicated Susan “Medea” Benjamin is to the Iranian government. Take away her American citizenship and force her to live in Iran. I’m sure the current Iranian regime would embrace her with open arms. After getting a taste of how Iranians treat women for a few years, I’d like to see how a jerk like Benjamin feels after that. These useful idiots remind me of some Americans who supported Communism in the Soviet Union in the 1920s and 1930s. They thought it was the greatest thing in the world and many even went to the Soviet Union and were treated like celebrities by Stalin. Problem was, Salin was feeding them nothing but lies and these same Americans were supporting a regime that was responsible for killing millions of their own people. Sad how history always seems to repeat itself.
What is really sad is that these “useful idiots” as so labeled by Comrade Stalin were ALWAYS the very first to be liquidated when the Commies took power.
These Code Pink and other fellow travellers are so incredibly stupid and yet they and they their allies in the mainstream media treat them as if they were true visionaries.
“Sad” is not the first word that occurs to me. If things ever came to the worst, plenty of things would be sad. But the calamitous non-reward of those quislings who laid the groundwork for such disasters … both in the past and in the hypothetical future, my emotions can be more accurately described as “grim amusement.”
Hang on . . . she actually calls herself Medea? As in, the woman who murdered her own family for the sake of a man? Then kills the new wife of said man, and her own children by him to boot? The ancient world’s poster girl of betrayal and evil?
Um. Didn’t quite think that one through, did she?
Kind of fits, though. Medea Benjamin and her ilk are stabbing other women in the back by kissing up to the Iranian regime.
Easy, the left hates America and her constitution and the Iranian government hates America and her freedoms.
So it seems that code pink is more concerned about women’s rights being denied because post birth abortions are not liked by conservatives, but have no problem with women in Iran being denied such basic rights that all women in America takes for granted.
But that is code pink for you, attack America, and perhaps hope that we are taken over by Muslims, so that code pink women can then be forced into burqas, and relegated to second class citizens that they are in such countries.
Its the old ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend’ shtick all over again. FemiNAZIs are part of the Left Wing moonbat movement and the Left Wing moonbat movement wants to destroy Western Judeo/Christian civilization ergo the misogyny inherent and integral to Islam is simply overlooked to form an alliance to fight the common enemy. Maybe they are right. Maybe people as a whole have a bendover reflex for tyrants.
People in general don’t have a bendover reflex for evil tyrants. Only morally and spiritually bankrupt people behave that way.

This is the biggest mystery of our era. It’s like Jews supporting Nazis. It’s like Stalin supporting Hitler after the German invasion of the Soviet Union. None of the explanations given here really explains what is going on.
I was a leftist when the Shah of Iran was evicted. After hearing about what the Muslims were doing to leftists in Iran — namely, butchering them — I recoiled against everything Muslim. Strangely enough, the other leftists didn’t. I still have no idea why.
1. It’s no good saying that leftists have been allied with Muslims for some time now. See my comment about Stalin above. Once your ally stabs you in back, you abandon him.
2. It’s no good saying that leftists think they will take over once evil America is vanquished. We saw what happened to the leftist-Muslim alliance in Iran once the Shah was evicted. It was the Muslims who took over and butchered leftists.
3. It’s no good saying that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. That’s true up to a point, but when that “friend” starts butchering you, that’s when you abandon the friendship.
4. It’s no good saying that feminists really like a macho dictator, no matter what they say. I’m male, so that doesn’t apply to me. And so are plenty of other leftists, who nevertheless support Ahmadi-Nejad.
The best I can say is that they weren’t paying attention when all those leftists were butchered.
