Why Are Liberals Still Angry?
The liberals were crazy angry while George W. Bush was president. Part of it was that for a time after 9/11, they were made completely irrelevant — when people are dying, who is going to listen to a liberal?
But another part of it is that it’s much easier to hate a person than to hate a concept — like conservatism. So they were able to channel all their hate into President Bush. And they were jumping-around-pooh-flinging-biting-each-other angry. I think a number of conservatives were secretly looking forward to the Obama presidency in hopes that liberals might just calm down a little. Maybe they’d even consider supporting the troops in their war efforts for a change. At least, maybe they would be a bit less angry.
Big miscalculation.
Now conservatives have more reason to be angry these days, with liberals in charge and all the spending and government takeovers. But with Democrats having complete control of the government, you’d think liberals could be dismissive of conservatives and be calm themselves. But no, they’re still crazy angry. Maybe even angrier than before. Biting-fingers-off angry. They’re screeching about how all the people opposed to Obama are racists and neo-Nazis and stupid, and they’re using sexual slurs against protesters and boycotting everyone who disagrees with them. They’re still nuts, but why?
See things from their point of view. The most fundamental principle liberals have is that they are all very, very smart, and everyone should listen to them. Nothing angers them more than something that challenges them to reexamine that core tenet. And that’s why they were so delighted by the election of President Obama and further wins in the House and Senate. For a moment they thought the American people had recognized liberals as their superiors and said to them: “Please! Smart people! Lead us and tell us what to do!”
Of course, it is quite obvious right now that that’s not at all what the election was about. The Republicans had been screw-ups for a while, and with the failing economy (people tend to vote for the president based on the economy, which is only a tad smarter than voting based on the weather, but whatcha gonna do?), most people just felt they couldn’t reward the Republicans with leadership again. Also, many people were tired of the hostility between conservatives and liberals (though I’m not sure why Republicans got the blame, since we could have had bipartisanship if at any time liberals had decided to stop being a bunch of screeching ninnies who mindlessly opposed whatever Bush was for). Then came along Barack Obama, who promised non-specific hope and change, and everyone was like, “Non-specific hope and change sounds like a great idea!”
But now we can see the problem. After Barack Obama was elected, he started doing specific things. Liberal things. No one voted for that, so Obama’s approval ratings have dropped faster than those of any president before him. And you can see why liberals are so frustrated. They had a charismatic liberal overwhelmingly elected with Democratic majorities, and even he is utterly failing to sell liberalism to the American people.

Constantly reminding people how smart they are ( don’t true smarts speak for itself?) and constantly hating our culture, history, and our own people in order to further delude people into accepting their drivel. Two hallmarks of the left.
Very funny …i love it!
This wise sage writes,
“Americans don’t like liberalism. Obama was only elected because Americans like people who say happy things, but it was in no way meant as an endorsement of liberalism. As liberals start to realize this, they’re only going to get screechier and angrier. So we might as well figure out a way to use that.
Who knows, maybe one day we can even figure out how to direct it against America’s enemies.”
You mean, like a Quran made out of bacon?
Water-soluble Burquinis?
The gray matter rustles…..
The liberals are angry for the reasons you cite, and for one additional over-riding reason: they are completely uninformed on all the revelations that have led to the mass of protesters. They don’t know about Alinsky. They don’t know about Acorn. They don’t know that Van Jones was an admitted communist. They’ve never heard of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. They never read any citicism of any of of the Adminisrations programs. They believe everything they read in the NYT and hear on CNN, and despise any other sources.
They are angry because they truly believe that FOX is making up “lies and smears”, and the Tea Parties are wild-eyed Christian fundamentalists putting “obstacles” in the way of the realization of their Great Leader’s programs for Change. They never hear a word from the conservative blogosphere, so they think all of us are stupid. Consequently, their contempt and anger is sincere.
The greatest problem we face is ow to break through the blanket of silence the MSM ha thrown over Obama’s disciples.
Even before 0bama’s polls were slipping the Demtards were spewing as if their side had lost. I often quipped here that ‘they’ seemed awfully angry for people who ‘won’.
Anger is the far Left’s emote-shun of choice. Most of their beliefs are anger based and guttural and aimed at any given target at any given time on any given day. They sometimes seem as if they are bipolar artists but instead of working with oils or watercolor it’s anger that is their medium of choice and the world (or any poor sap who will give them a listen) is their canvas to regurgitate all of their soul-draining vitriol.
In March there was an Anti-War protest in SanFran (not as big as ‘usual’ now that it’s ‘their’ guy of course) and this was when 0bama was still doing okay in the polls.
All of that anger at humanity, old people, fetuses, religion, meat eaters, white people etc. must surely take a toll on one’s coping mechanisms. If I thought like the far left did I’d be depressed as hell.
Liberal are angry all the time because it’s the only thing they know how to do to use up any energy. They don’t produce anything or contribute anything other than stirring the pot of discontent.
If you don’t believe this, just watch the trolls that will inevitably come in here and post today. Their posts will contribute nothing to the discussion, and will only be made in the endeavor to stir up discontent.
Another reason they are angry now is that the spotlight of accountability is squarely upon them. Look at the career choices predominantly taken by liberals. They shun whatever little responsibility associated with their career choices. Meritorious achievement is shunned, and rather they seek positions where they are protected (insert any applicable method of protection you like), and are not subject to the same risks and rewards as actual achievers and producers. This leads them to envy those people, and their envy leads them on their path to destroy everything in their path. For rather than asking themselves what they might do to earn those things, they seek ways to take it away from those that are successful…..all in the name of the “common good”.
It comes down to two things:
1. Liberals are convinced of their moral and intellectual superiority;
2. Liberals, in the face of all the adverse evidence, nevertheless want to be conceded to have been right all along.
And nothing can be done about either condition.
“But no, they’re still crazy angry. Maybe even angrier than before. Biting-fingers-off angry.”
Why not be angry?
There are several major organizations behind the ‘grassroots’ town halls chaotic protesters and the sheep marching to their orders on Tea Parties. One of them, FreedomWorks.
These are the behind the scene manipulators:
* Dick Armey
* James H. Burnley
* Matt Kibbe
* Thomas Knudsen
* Richard J Stephenson
* Steve Forbes
Their strategy?
Create the newest Banana Republic in the world.
Why are conservatives so gullible?
They don’t watch foreign news, so they don’t know what a banana republic is and how it behaves. Now they have the chance to live it!
Have fun while it lasts!
True Republicans are aghast at their countrymen’s behavior and thinking.

RE: Why Ask Why?
On the one hand, because they aren’t ‘liberals’. They’re latter-day Bolsheviks. There’s a marked difference.
On the other hand, even though they have the power, the goramm sons of whores in the ‘conservative’ camp keep pointing out their failings. E.g., ACORN as supporting child-prostitution.
On the third hand, sore losers hardly ever turn into gracious winners.

HEY Chuck(les) #9,
Excellent point on the Bolsheviks.
Please see my post #3.
Question for you: Can we make bacon out of vivo, or is there too much lard?
I’m thinkin’, if all else fails, we can always put him in a cheerleader outfit and sell him to a Nicaraguan child sex handler for export.
“the left is still throwing tantrums.”
Yeah, children do that.

RE: [OT] What To Do with vivo, Part 1 — Renderings
First off, I’m no fan of turning people into either food products or soap.
In the first option, vivo would probably taste on a par with crow.
I saw a recipe for crow in a famous cooking tome….
[1] Put your vegetables, seasonings and water in a pot.
[2] Put the lid on the pot.
[3] Put the crow on the lid.
[4] Put the pot on the fire.
[5] When the vegetables are cooked. Throw away the crow and eat the vegetables.
As for the ‘lard’ content. Don’t be fooled. It’s not ‘lard’. It’s another inedible substance, usually brown in color.
As for the idea of soap….
….you need ‘lard’ for making soap. Not that other stuff. Nobody in their ‘right’ mind would wash themselves with what vivo is full of.
RE: [OT] What To Do with vivo, Part 2 — Going to Market
You’re giving ‘cheerleaders’ a VERY bad image here. Their association might sue you for the very thought.
And I think the Nicaraguan’s would file with them.
However, you could sell him to some UN ‘piece-keepers’, tongue firmly in cheek. And THEY could probably pimp some deal with ACORN vis-a-vis child-prostitutes.

[We're talking SERIOUS lipstick-on-a-pig here.]
P.S. Sorry about misspelling your nom des blogs. Haven’t had any coffee yet…..
Great piece. I’d be angry, too, if I was part of the smartest cabal in the universe and the majority of the country was rejecting my brilliance. Too, they spent 8 years demonizing Bush and that is all they know how to do, now. Getting power was never going to restore their sanity. I think their “side” now having all the power is actually the current source of their anger. Nothing could ever make them happy.
These people have always been miserable cranks but now their crankiness and crackpottery have become their reason for being.
Anger is all that they are.Take away anger and all that is left(pardon the pun)is a blank wall,
an empty parking spot,a void. With out anger they become a faceless mass. They exist as rebels
without a cause.It is a:”Now what?” event.
Even Freud’s “Id” wasn’t a one trick pony like this.
I take it back. I was a lefty for 26 years and I do know how they think. 2 things could make them happy:
1. The complete capitulation of their ideological opponents, or
2. Our immediate deaths.
Yes, I am serious. I know these people.
The saying ‘Liberalism is a mental disease’ is much more profound than the ad-hominem slight it may at first seem.
There is something dysfunctional with the progressive mentality – egocentrism, denial, arrogance, grandiosity, self-righteousness,… all the above. It’s hard to say – perhaps those are only just symptoms of something much deeper and darker.
1. Indulging a spoiled child increases the number of tantrums.
2. Being really “smart” and losing every argument on the basis of logic has to be frustrating.
Mr. Fleming:
“Why Are Liberals Still Angry?”
If they weren’t angry, they wouldn’t be Liberals, they’d be Conservatives.
The very basis of Liberalism dictates a dissatisfaction with the status quo and an impetus to change it to your liking.
Any and all accomplishments and virtues of the present day need to be ignored, if not actively denigrated in the angry desire to remake government, society, and humanity itself.
A Liberal is the guy who, when you give him a free cold beer on a hot summer day, is pissed off that you ran out of cups to go with it.
Even if he himself got one.
SOMEBODY was denied a cup, dammit! It’s NOT fair!
No Justice! No Peace!
Mahvelous piece. I adore “liberals still have to run from their label and never dare say out loud the things they want, such as socialism and single-payer health care.”
I would, however, add one word to your list of reasons to oppose libs (besides our obvious stupidity and innate evil): RACISM!!!
Days mad because dere comes a point in time when Acorn can steal only so many votes.
Tim Geithner can skip paying just so many taxes.
Obama can tell only so many lies.
When Joe Wilson caught the Bama in a Whopper (what was it?) no illegals will be covered under ObmamaCare? What did the slave media do?
Check to see if Joe was right about the lie?
Did the slave media point out that the dems yelled “you’re lying” at Bush during many of those same kind of congressional speeches. Even booed him. No. They simply played lap dog for Obama.
The slave media did not question if Obama actually was lying at all. Once a slave always a slave journalist I guess.
So the slave media starts hounding Wilson, asks him when the next apology is coming.
Instead, day should have been telling the voting public dat Obama lied from the first sentence of his speech right to da last.
But not just in this speech. In many speeches.
“No earmarks” the B man said. Remember? So Obama signs a bill with the most earmarks in the history of America.
A transparent government Obama bragged he’d have. Which wasn’t to be.
The reality: Obama doesn’t let anybody see Stimulus I till it’s signed sealed and delivered.
Bipartisanship. Another whopper. Because Obama doesn’t let Republicans near where bills are written.
A post racial President OB promised TB. (to be). Then proceeds to stick the U.S. supreme court with a psychofant of a female who says loudly and proudly any Hispanic woman is intellectually superior to any white male. R word alert. One of the most racist statement of the last century.
Is that Post Racial? Maybe Obama was misquoted and meant Post Rachel President whatever that means.
Then a friend of Obama’s boils over like an old Ford one Cambridge evening and Obama proceeds to call one of America’s best and brightest cops a bitter racist. Without having a single fact to base it on.
As Imus said last week on his TV show, “The more I observe Obama, the more convinced I become that our new black President is nothing more than a nappy headed liar.”
Gosh, the other thing Obama said was to the effect he would consult with Acorn about his agenda. Well, Acorn appears to me to be nothing but a communist front organization, a corrupt one at that, which encourages prostitution business using 13 year olds from overseas.
If Obama denies this, he’s lying again.
Also lying because you can assume Barack knows after all those years inside and out that when Acorn teaches people how to avoid taxes and break all kinds of sex laws, and offers to help transport underage girls for the purposes of illicit and illegal behavior, Barack can no longer stick his head in the sand and say he he heard no evil, saw no evil and spoke no evil.
Like he didn’t hear Reverend Wright say a discouraging word about America after pewing at Trinity for twenty years. Only a Brooklyn Bridge buyer still believes Barack these days.
Obama used to be Acorns lawyer and he’s still so involved with them, you don’t know where Acorn stops lying and being corrupt and Obama starts.
And I haven’t even mentioned that admitted red, Van Johnson who Obama hired to be his right hand man at the FCC, then had to fire when it was pointed out that Johnson is a self admitted American hating Communist who makes Nakita Khrushchev look like a middle of the road Jerry Brown moderate.
We must not let another bill get through congress till we stop this continual, tax payer funded corruption. That lying piece of dirt, Acorn, in the last ten years has sucked out almost a trillion tax payer dollars. It’s got to stop. It’s taxpayer’s money.
The reason the dems are so mad these days is because they can sense they’re about to be caught. The jig is about to be up.
We American tax payers are no longer going to let our money go down a bunch of black holes, never to be seen again.
Obama and his Acorns make this the most corrupt President and communist front organization in history. I used to talk about Obama being led out of the white house in hand cuffs. With the level of corruption and graft and greed that’s going on, he and his cohorts are going to be led out in hand cuffs and leg irons.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama spends the rest of his days breaking rocks on the side of the road, making license plates and eating off of paper plates. That’s the level of corruption that’s out there to find.
We needn’t be afraid of the direction he’s taking the country anymore. He’s self destructing. He’s set his own minefields and forgot where he’s put them.
A good team of honest accountants checking Acorns’ and Obama’s books, and the only books Obama will be reading will be direct from some federal prison library.
Whoops! You included “racist,” big time. I should remember to finish articles before commenting, but who has the time?

Thank you so much for participating here. It’s so nice to have one of those “smart people” around to enlighten us. Being such a “smart person,” however, it is curious to see that you failed to notice that the anti-big government movement is as organic as it gets.
Everyday people took umbrage with the irresponsible porkulus package, rammed home in the opening days of this administration followed by every scheme to hasten our economic demise since. I know, the budget bill had the word “Responsible” writ bold on its cover, so that should have been enough to hoodwink the masses. But a funny thing happened. People looked past the cover and got mad at what they saw.
You may remember it was Rick Santelli in CNBC who gave that impassioned report from the trading floor who gave rise the Tea Party meme. The level of coordination has been minimal, consisting merely of announcing the dates and times for events and the naming of a few speakers. But that is all that was needed for folks whose anger stems completely from the ridiculous waste and power-brokering in DC to show up in huge numbers.
Don’t be angry. You had 8 years to be angry and you used them to their fullest. Now is your time to be joyful and bask in the warm glow of hope-n-change.
8. vivo: They don’t watch foreign news, so they don’t know what a banana republic is and how it behaves. Now they have the chance to live it!
LOL, vivo. I’m sure Steve Forbes really wants to rule with a military junta just so he can make less money with overseas arms (banana) sales. Yeah, making the US people poor so the largest consumers no longer buy is a good idea.
We conservatives remind ourselves often that liberals actually think they are doing the right thing trying to bring about an impossible socialist paradise; rather than malicious failure that they actually steer us towards. At least consider giving us the same benefit of the doubt.
Just to let you know, it wasn’t just liberals that were crazy angry with Bush and the cons, it was just over half the world. If you know anything about the world or history you will know that europeans hated us, the mideast…enuff said their, africa..u guessed it..and most of central and south america. Well, since the new Obama administration, it hasn’t reversed, but our image of are country has improved alot. Just wanted to add to your article. Thanks.
When you’ve got no facts to back up your assertions, what do you do? Get mad, act out, throw a tantrum.
It takes a talent like the president’s to keep repeating things that you know are not true as facts. Most so called liberals can’t do that.
As is usual in most disagreements, there are arguments to be made on both sides. Obama did inherit a deficit, and shame on the Republicans for allowing it while they controlled Congress. However, Obama to date has made Bush look like an amateur while the Democrats control Congress. I’m not interested in the “he’s first, he’s worse, it’s his fault” arguments. We have problems, fix them, do not make them worse. Blame is for losers. It’s my money and my children’s future these Blue and Red clowns are destroying.
It’s not just the feeling of moral superiority, although that’s certainly a significant component. For many liberals, political positions are moral stances; hence opposition to their views is an assault on their morality and not just disagreement. It’s hard to have a genuine debate when you start from the premise that your opponents are bad people.
Politics for such people is a form of psychodrama, a chance to display their self-righteousness.
I have anecdotal evidence on this. From time to time you see those cars with their rears plastered with bumper stickers. Almost invariably, the stickers support left-wing causes.
Now, having a sticker to support a candidate, promote a cause, or show one of those allegedly clever quips is one thing. No one can possibly read a dozen stickers on a car. That isn’t the idea, which is to use your car to demonstrate your righteousness and good heart.
I’ve gotten to the point Trey Parker of “South Park” summarized: “I hate conservatives but I f.ing hate liberals.”
Fleming identifies a key difference between liberal/socialists and conservatives. If you properly label a person liberal/socialist because they believe in, espouse, and vote for those policies, that person usually will deny they are liberal/socialist. Even though they repeatedly advocate that the state control the means of production and redistribution of products and services, they deny that what they believe in is socialist. They usually label themselves “progressive”. They constantly deny what they advocate for is socialist. President Obama is the perfect example of this, as he always denies he believes in demonstrably socialist policies even as he strives to put them in place. Socialists never talk openly of Marx in public. They cover up their mentors.
Conservatives openly embrace conservative principals and policies. They openly attribute their beliefs to the founding fathers, Friedman, Laffer, Hyeck, Burke, etc. They openly speak of Reagan as a leader of conservative thought. Conservatives are openly secure about their beliefs.
Ask yourself why one political culture is fundamentally open and honest and the other fundamentally obfuscates what it believes in and is trying to accomplish.
Also consider that “progressives” consider themselves to be perfect. (When was the last time you heard a progressive, including a few who post her, admit that they could be capable of error?)
One of the basic principles of socialism is that Man Can Be Made Perfect, If He Just Does As He Is Told By Those Who Are Already So. Meaning, socialists (who define “perfection” by looking in a mirror).
As such, anyone who disagrees with them is, ipso facto, not perfect. And therefore must be punished for the failure to do as the “progressives” say, and thereby achieve perfection.
Their failure to do so, equally of course, can only be due to evil- never due to an objective assessment that the “progressives”, and their grand plans, simply are not as perfect as they tell themselves they are.
And Evil Must Be Punished. To “encourage the others”, as the French used to say, if for no other reason.
Seen in this light, Obama’s egotism, narcissism, and arrogance are not unusual among progressives, except in that most aren’t as blatant (and, frankly, offensive) about it as he is. (Even Ted Kennedy, one of the most obnoxious progressives in prior history, wasn’t constantly telling everyone else, “I won, so shut up”.)
And then, of course, there’s the other reason that progressives are so angry at the rest of us, in spite of now Having It All. It’s because they really don’t, in their own minds.
You see, since they are perfect, they deserve to be worshiped. And we’re not doing it.
And, as with most deities in the various pantheons from Sumeria on down, when the gods think that mortals aren’t rendering proper obeisance, they start throwing tantrums. Followed by thunderbolts.

As President Wee Wee leads us into the second Great Depression, some liberals will figure out that basic economic principles mean more to them than their socialist fantasies. A few might even ask why the Dems concentrated on bankrupting the country instead of creating a recovery friendly climate for small business. Wait, that couldn’t happen because to question Obama is to be a racist. Or one could still talk liberal nonsense with friends while gaining a new appreciation for the secret ballot.
#9 Chuck-
Good point. These are not “liberals” in the classic sense, but Bolshevicks, neo-marxists, left wing statists.
A classic liberal would say, “I may disagree with what you say, but I would fight for your right to say it.” A modern day leftist says, “If I disagree with what you say, I will fight until you are dead (or your reputation destroyed) to prevent you from saying it.”
I am seeing a disturbing trend in leftist debates these days, an unfortunate byproduct of “post-racial” Obama’s race: if you disagree with him or criticize him, you are racist. You can recognize this word for what it is in this context: a toddler throwing a tantrum who calls you a “poopy-head.” Unfortunately, being called a racist today is akin to being called a pedophile, heretic in the middle ages or a witch in Salem: you are on the defensive now, and the consequences can be disastrous. On second thought, leftists have a lot of sympathy for a pedophile, which is why we see a pedophile rapist released by a liberal justice system only to kidnap a kid to be his sex slave for almost two decades.
“…the left is still throwing tantrums.”
Yeah, shouting down town meeting speakers, yelling at the president…. Ooops. Never mind.
“Well, since the new Obama administration, it hasn’t reversed, but our image of are country has improved alot.”
Because, it’s really important to be liked and popular, right? Not offend anyone…sit by and watch people get slaughtered in the streets and not say anything. We used to be a country that stood for freedom and democracy – not anymore.
But, what’s your evidence that our image has improved? That dictators like us more? I would argue it’s Obama they seem to like…they still hate America.
“26. Poor Citizen:
Just to let you know, it wasn’t just liberals that were crazy angry with Bush and the cons, it was just over half the world. ”
Hmn, I am reminded of the time half the world hated FDR.
Our image has not improved one bit except amongst a bunch of elitist left wing loons over there in the E.U., but then that is probably all a left wing loon over here cares about anyways.
Who cares why liberals are still angry? Let them fume, they are their own worst enemy.
Instead of filling up space in Pajamas Media with useless articles like this one that waste time and energy by throwing brickbats at liberals, let’s have a little more discussion of what needs to be done. Its time for more articles about deconstructing this monstrosity called the federal government and returning liberty and freedom to the people and the states.
Oh wait, but that would be contrary to the republican agenda of the past 50 years and the tea partiers can see right through it.
you are pitiful, bibio, just pitiful. When the lefties do these things you are all for it, when those on the Right finally fight back, it is more than you can stand. Go blow your nose, wipe your eyes and go eat your breakfast- I hear your mommy calling from the kitchen. You need to GROW UP!!

You turn on the TV, all you see is a bunch of angry old people yelling at town halls, carrying Obama witch doctor and nazi posters, joe wilson, death panels, glen beck, rah rah… I don’t get why you’re talking about angry liberals, and unfortunately for you, neither does anyone else.
Poor citizen:
Do some traveling. The rest of the world has only been fond of us while we save their asses, otherwise not so much. As far as hating us when bush was in power it wasn’t anything like what the MSM portrayed. There is a difference now that obama is pres but as far as improvement instead of despising us they laugh at us as we go down the crapper.
Firstly, there are no more true liberals. A true liberal, for instance, might have opposed the Iraq War for legitimate, rational reasons, but once it was well under way and al Qaeda flooded into the country, they would have recognized the good in freeing 25 million people from under the boot of a brutal dictator, and relished the opportunity to eliminate from the world the true enemies of ALL humanity (jihadis).
They care nothing about such things. The only thing a modern liberal cares about is his political tribe, which in the case of liberalism is simply the cheapest, easiest way to pose as something he is not: intelligent, compassionate, wise, and competent. In short, he’s more interested in telegraphing his support for a label (“for the children”, “social justice”, “progressive”, etc.) than he is in anything’s actual effectiveness. Who cares if something is effective? What matters is that somebody else gives you unearned status merely for ‘supporting’ something.
To a modern liberal, politics are a pose, a mask he wears to cover for all his myriad faults. Most liberals, if you notice (and this is the tell), do not just hold political positions, they fold their politics into their identity, and for this reason they have extreme difficulty changing their politics when information comes along exposing faults in their positions. After all, it is FAR more difficult to change one’s identity than it is just to say, “Whoops! Screwed that up! Guess I’ll adjust my position and move on.” They simply CAN’T change positions as the facts merit because you’re asking them to change their heavy investment in their identity as fahbulous, hyper-wonderful individuals. To attack their politics is a personal attack on them. It’s why they can’t stand any disagreement whatsoever.
So in the case of vivo, for instance, he defended completely Van Jones, facts be damned, up until the point Van resigned at midnight on a Saturday. He says there is nothing wrong with ACORN, even though the Census Bureau has already severed ties with the organization, and 83 Senators voted to defund it. To him Joe Wilson calling out Obama on his immigration claims was itself a lie, even though Congress has now removed provisions that would have allowd illegals to qualify for the public option.
In short, the one common element in such individuals is mindless defense of the tribe. It’s all they care about (and their comically self-righteous role in the grand drama of Tribe versus Tribe).
Everything else is tertiary.
There are no liberals.
bibio44: The left is still arguing for Nationalization of healthcare when the people are against it. Without “Lying” they get lost in their own arguments. If healthcare reform, in the shape they want it,really was good for the country they’d be able to for coherent and convincing arguments to make it happen. I hope people continue to speak out in Town Halls and presidential campaign style speeches about the lies and misrepresentations.

[There's a storm coming. -- Sarah Connor, Terminator]
The constant anger of Liberals and Lefties comes from the simple fact that their problems with the world are not the result of a rational process, but of a chronic psychological disorder that makes them perennially vindictive, aggressive and destructive.
To advocate left-oriented change in society after almost one hundred years of wholesome and gruesome communist failure = paroxistical cognitive dissonance.
Incidentally, isn’t Van Jones’ communist hero Amilcar Cabral, a figure that well pairs Mugabe’s grandeur? And since here, was Van Jones’ presence in the WH an accident or just another attempt to slip in the system one more destructive mole?
We’re still angry because you’re still stupid.

“We can’t even defend our own proposal?” the president asked. “Why did we propose it, then?” This was not bold decision making. There were about a dozen people gathered in the theater to watch him rehearse, and all of us remained silent as the president looked at us for an answer.
The president walked over to sip some water from one of the bottles on the table near his lectern. “This speech is weak,” he said. He looked at me and Chris. “Frankly, I’m surprised, to be honest with you.”
There was more silence.
“Too late to cancel the speech?” the president asked into the air. He was joking…I think. Finally, Ed (who hadn’t exactly rushed to jump into the line of fire) explained that we had to make this change to the address because the proposal the president liked might not end up being the one he had to agree to. “Then why the hell did I support it if I didn’t believe it would pass?” he snapped. There was yet another uncomfortable silence.
Finally, the president directed us to try to put elements of his proposal back into the text. He wanted to explain what he was seeking and to defend it. He especially wanted Americans to know that his plan would likely see a return on the taxpayers’ investment. Under his proposal, he said, the federal government would buy troubled mortgages on the cheap and then resell them at a higher price when the market for them stabilized.
“We’re buying low and selling high,” he kept saying.
The problem was that his proposal didn’t work like that. One of the president’s staff members anxiously pulled a few of us aside. “The president is misunderstanding this proposal,” he warned. “He has the wrong idea in his head.” As it turned out, the plan wasn’t to buy low and sell high. In some cases, in fact, Secretary Paulson wanted to pay more than the securities were likely worth in order to put more money into the markets as soon as possible.
After finally getting the speech draft turned around and sent back to the teleprompter technicians, we trudged back to the Family Theater, where the president rehearsed. In the theater, the president was clearly confused about how the government would buy these securities. He repeated his belief that the government was going to “buy low and sell high,” and he still didn’t understand why we hadn’t put that into the speech like he’d asked us to. When it was explained to him that his concept of the bailout proposal wasn’t correct, the president was momentarily speechless. He threw up his hands in frustration.
“Why did I sign on to this proposal if I don’t understand what it does?” he asked.
The president was clearly frustrated with what was going on, but there was little he could do at this late hour. He went up to take a nap, saying he was beat. He looked it. I’d never seen him more exhausted. His hair was out of place and shaggy. His face looked drained and pale. Even more distressing, he was wearing Crocs.“
——————————
And now everything seems to make sense.
George W. Bush was the ORIGINAL Teleprompter President.
It’s not that he lied about the state of the economy, he just really didn’t have a ****ing clue what was happening, and just read the words that his speechwriter wrote.
It’s not that he lied about WMDs in Iraq, or an operation connection between Saddam and al Qaeda, he just clearly didn’t have a ****ing clue what was going on in Iraq, in any capacity, and just read the words that his handlers put up on the screen.
It’s not that he lied about torture, he just obviously had no ****ing clue what was happening to Iraqi civilians, but the words on the teleprompter read “We do not torture”, so he read them, thinking, “Well, gee that’s swell, I’m glad we don’t torture.”
And when it all turned out to be bull****, Bush was just as surprised as everyone else, because, from the first day he stepped into the White House, he just didn’t have a ****ing clue!
Thanks, Republicans, for screwing over America with your retarded cowboy presidency that bankrupted the country, both financially and morally.
Thank God you guys have been relegated to the position you all deserve – a ditch.
Let me quote myself as a response to Dale’s post:
“The only thing a modern liberal cares about is his political tribe, which in the case of liberalism is simply the cheapest, easiest way to pose as something he is not: intelligent, compassionate, wise, and competent.”
Liberals are angry because they secured the presidency not by a victory over ideology, but by forfeit.
Winning, when the other team fails to take the field, just doesn’t taste sweet.
Thank you Dale #49 for illustrating Frank J’s points quite nicely. Do you by chance work for him?
The Democrats are so inept, powerless, this ‘Resolution of Disapproval’ action reminds me of a kid who gets picked last for team sports. That child’s response is taking the game ball, his game ball, going home and telling Mommy.
I knew these pompous asses are petty, but this last action is so childish..

RE: Progressive?
They’re not, repeat NOT, progressive in the first place. It’s just another misnomer they apply to themselves. They’re the same latter-day Bolsheviks. Only the names are changed to confuse the unwary.
As for thinking themselves ‘perfect’. You’ve got THAT right.
I engaged a ‘progressive’ in a discussion at the local public forum on healthcare reform.
I asked her if she’d even READ the legislation. To which she replied, “I don’t care.”
Got that? They don’t care enough to READ the bloody bills. Why? Because they consider themselves ‘perfect’. So perfect that they don’t need to read up on anything.

“It’s not just the feeling of moral superiority, although that’s certainly a significant component. For many liberals, political positions are moral stances; hence opposition to their views is an assault on their morality and not just disagreement. It’s hard to have a genuine debate when you start from the premise that your opponents are bad people.”
I would add, that it is psychologically (and frequently politically) necessary for liberals to demonize; it’s how they rationalize the fact that at the end of the day their ideology boils down to theft and coercion. If the people you rob and constrain are “bad people,” then that’s OK.

Poor citizen: The rest of the world always hates us (except when they have their begging bowls out). There is no “Miss Congeniality” award. This country was founded, after all, on the premise that Europeans were pretty much wrong.
The “Rest of the World”, as embodied in the UN, just proclaimed Fidel frickin’ Castro a “World Hero.” The approval of such as these we can do without.
Hey look – Dale gave us an actual example of the ‘nothing but anger’ crowd. Who puts everything in bold – a form of shouting – unless they’re out of their gourds with rage.
Moreover, the only real Americans most of the elitist liberals have ever encountered are the ones who empty the trash and sweep the floors in their campus offices.

Anyone getting the ‘picture’ here? Firing parties. Ditches. Mass graves…..
All those paper mache heads in the closets, collecting dust, and nothing to protest. It’s enough to wee wee up any hippy.
Many thoughtful comments. My ramblings…
I lived in the SF Bay Area and worked in San Francisco for a number of years. Yes, I had many “liberal” friends and acquaintances. Maybe I missed it in the article and comments, but something I observed was the need for modern liberals (I differentiate between modern and old school liberals) to be liked by their peers. Most of us want recognition, and want others to react to us in a positive way, but I must say, many of the modern liberals base their self esteem to a large degree on how others perceive them.
I remember having conversations with several liberals (together) where I might be on the “wrong” side of an issue. There would be the normal back and forth, points made, points taken, and many times I observed the type of reinforcing behavior that you might see at a college football game. That’s ok, the home team is the home team, so be it, there will be the instinct to band together. But the issues were much more serious than if Cal beats Stanford. Yet there were the same elements of groupthink working.
Sometimes, later, one of the participants would approach me, or I might be just having a conversation with this person (I was not totally ostracized), and they would tell me that they agreed with much of what I said. The question arose, why didn’t this person speak up? The most common answer in general – they might lose friends and their social network. Nothing new, many human groupings work like that. But this is a bit different, the liberal dogma was so rigid, so pervasive, that most times I would be sworn to silence. There was an element of fear. Seems ridiculous, but this is true.
This behavior could be descriptive of conservatives as well, however, my personal observations over some years has shown it to be much more pervasive in modern liberal circles. I not advocating that every liberal is a closet conservative, it’s just that I have rarely seen it go the other way. That is my experience.
Vivo, Moho, Dale, Now and Then, bibio44 and others who have presented a somewhat liberal bent here at PJM, I have a proposition for you. Next time you’re at a modern liberal party (party as in… Party!!!), position yourself in the middle of the crowd and loudly announce “I like George Bush and Dick Cheney!” Pick your topic. (I know, you may need some Dramamine). With the knowledge you have gained here at PJM of the conservative mind, you should be able to put together a fairly good argument in favor of conservative principles.
You only live once. It will be a most illuminating experience.

We’re still angry because you’re still stupid.
We have a winner!!! Let’s nominate it for the ‘quote of the day’.
Very Bad Citizen @ 26:
You appear to regard those nations that opposed George Bush very highly. If you are so enamored with foreign dictatorial, socialist and Marxist governments I’d advise you to emigrate and leave our country and constitution the way it was. We sorta liked it that way.
And to continue on this vein, how could anyone be so @#$%&* stupid as to give a rat’s ass what the leaders of corrupt, despotic foreign governments think of us? Isn’t moral relativism great?
And Mr. Fleming: Great article, but I find the criminals now running our government to be anything but “liberal”. Leftist, Marxist, Communist, Fascist I could agree with.
Vivo, why the hate? Didn’t you actually look at any of the video from the march on Washington. These weren’t people paid to come or that had transportation paid for them. These people took time off work, they paid their own way and they didn’t trash every square inch of the the area they marched. These were actualy citizens with actual concerns.
Oh that’s right, MSM didn’t cover it except to say that there were about 60 or 70 thousand. (don’t believe that, any objective count is 7 times or more that number.)
Suck it up bud, this was as large and as commited and serious as anything the left has put out there in since the sixties.
Mr. Lucky,
Your observation about liberals craving social affirmation and acceptance is the opposite of the individuality they claim for themselves. Conservatives, in the liberal mind, lack creativity because they’re so stuffy and moralistic. Conversely, liberals perceive themselves as wildly creative, thoughtful and unbound by past tradition or morality.
Where do these self-perceptions come from? And, how can a group become convinced that it possesses traits and qualities it plainly does not have?
Government schooling may provide a clue. Kids are taught to think as part of small collectivities, not individuals. They’re frequently divided into “small groups” to work on projects. Homework is collaborative. Private schools, to some degree, have bought into the group-think meme, too, sadly. Home schoolers, though, are extraordinarily individualistic and self-motivated.
The left would say that home/private school kids “don’t know how to work with other people … a life skill,” to which I’d respond that group-think kids truly believe they’re being creative when in reality, they’re nervously glancing at each other, crab-wise, seeking affirmation and acceptance.
The next generation of leaders will never come out of schools that stress groups more than individual achievement, for these are tomorrow’s liberals, not leaders. Liberals cannot lead … only mime. Individualists lead.
You mean, like a Quran made out of bacon?
How dare you defile a great work of the Holy one like that!!!!
Bacon should never be defiled in such a manner as having the Quran printed on it.

You should change your moniker from “Poor Citizen” to “Poor Fool”. The Europeans have disliked the US for quite a while. We’re made up of a multitude of people they generally look down upon, the Irish, Polish, Greeks, Italians, Germans, etc. Despite what your believe in your fantasy world the people of Europe are quite racist/tribal, and old rivalries still linger. The intellectual elite of Europe has always looked down upon us as uncouth mongrels who lack history and sophistication. They also resent their loss of influence and status in the world. France, Britain, Spain, Germany, Turkey, and Italy were all at one time world powers and they resent the loss of that.
Despite their claims to the contrary its their socialistic and Marxist governments that have lead to their decline. Without US military support they couldn’t even defend themselves against an attack from a nation like Iran or Iraq (under Saddam) let alone Russia or China. They shelter under our defensive umbrella and behave like spoiled ungrateful children. The “disease” that infested Europe after WWI & WWII, one of anti-nationalism and self loathing has made its way to our shores and we are suffering the current administration because of it.
Envy is the root of “American global dislike” and until we’re on their level economically and militarily they won’t be happy with the US. Who then will protect them from the big bad Russians and the Chinese?
How is having a ‘speech code’ in the Congress compatible with the First Amendment? If you believe someone is lying, then you must be allowed to say so. Furthermore, it becomes your duty to do so. Wilson should appeal his censure to the Supreme Court, if there’s a way to do it, and get the prissy speech code junked.
I think that the Liberal angst can be summed up by this simple thought:
With the election of Obama they thought they would finally be able to stuff everyone (who dared disagree with them or who in any way offended or made them uncomfortable) into an oven – and the toasties would have gone cheerfully recognizing the need for their demise.
Only one quibble, I wish you’d stop calling the terminally intolerant, liberals.

Chuck @ 57:
Pardon me if my memory of history or my Russian cause me to be in error, but by my recollection:
In the Alexander Kerensky-led 1917 Russian Provisional (post Czar) Government there were essentially two rival groups comprising the Social Democrat Party, the Bolskeviks (majority) and Mensheviks (minority). But those designations were in fact erroneous, being the Bolsheviks were actually the minority in number and the Mensheviks the majority. The Marxist Bolsheviks were far more radical, violent and vocal than the greater-numbered, conservative Mensheviks.
And so it is in todays America. Radical, obnoxious, foul-mouthed leftists are actually much fewer in number than conservatives, yet consider themselves and their failed, twisted, morally bankrupt Marxist doctrines and policies to be ideologically pure and therefore beyond reproach. Just ask Maobama.
I think the answer for the left’s rage is a little deeper. Obama is a Mikhail Gorbachev-like character. He is the one last savior that can save the Left and it’s “ideas”. He will of course fail (most interesting how such smart people can fall for the most truly dreadful and stupid ideas – over and over). I think the Left truly has this in the back of it’s collective mind – This is their last chance and if they fail…The Leftist religion will die.
Good riddance.
You could add humorless to the list. Ever try to get a laugh out of a Lib? You can’t do it, because their entire world view is based on crisis and peril. After all, how you can laugh at a time like this?
It seems to me that the whole foundation of the Democrat party is “people are too stupid to know what’s best for them.” Isn’t it funny that, by voting Democrat, those very people are proving it? Maybe it should be “people who vote for Democrats are too stupid to know what’s best for them”.

Not particularly worried about who was named what and why.
The fact remains that these latter-day ‘Bolsheviks’ appear to be cut from the same despicable bolt of cloth as their predecessors. And, furthermore, being from such, they’re likely to be just a bloody-minded.
The only REAL difference between there and here is that US, i.e., latter-day kulaks, is all ‘armed’. Whereas the kulaks of that day and nation were unarmed.
The potential problem that US latter-day kulaks have in common with the Russian ones of the 1920s and 30s is that WE ALL HAVE JOBS. And therein, I believe, is what allowed the Bolsheviks to win their civil war in the early 1920s. The kulaks thought they didn’t have the ‘time’ to go away from their work-business-farm-home to fight the Red Army in the field. And therefore, for lack of manpower, the White Army of ‘democracy’, was defeated and the Bolsheviks won.
As a result, in the late 1920s and early 1930s all the kulaks were rounded up and murdered.

The problem with American Liberalism is that it is a state of perpetual dissatisfaction. It is a religion for people so spoiled that they have taken their (and your) freedom and safety for granted. Think about who these people are. Yes this is a generalization, but the exception to the the rule generally proves the rule. They were raised by parents who blew sunshine up their asses and told them they were the center of the world. They went on to college and got a vanity liberal arts degree to confirm that yes, they are right in all matters. They can prove it with the complex syllogisms, that their parents paid handsomely for them to learn. They are, in essence, the modern equivalent of the class of people who were guillotined en masse in the french revolution. They are shallow, petty, soft, and weak.

In short,(the liberal) is more interested in telegraphing his support for a label (”for the children”, “social justice”, “progressive”, etc.) than he is in anything’s actual effectiveness. Who cares if something is effective? What matters is that somebody else gives you unearned status merely for ’supporting’ something.

What about all that help with taking those Gitmo detainees? The world is just clamoring to take these guys in and give them a new home. Lets not forget the insult to Great Britain over the Bahamas thing either.
The Obama administration is basically a foreign (and domestic for that matter) policy nightmare which the consequences have yet to be felt. The best darn thing he’s done so far was allow the pirates to be shot. Afghanistan is going to become more bloody and an albatross around Obama’s neck. Oh yeah, if finding bin Laden was sooooo terribly easy and simple as the Left professes why hasn’t Obama (he’s the CIC remember) been able to find and capture or kill him?
I’ll make another point after posting at 29 above.
The Democrats have complete power at this time. They have huge majorities in both houses of Congress, the Presidency, and hegemony over the 4th estate, the MSM. If socialism is so superior to conservative thought why can’t they just impose their agrenda? Just pass cap and tax and Obamacare. They don’t need one Republican, once Massachusets abrogates prior law and appoints Mike Dukakis senator. The President will sign both bills. What’s the hold up?
The obvious problem is that there are Democrats who have not embraced socialism completely. Ben Nelson and Kent Conrad probably fit in this category, along with the Blue Dogs in the house.
The liberal/socialists are frustrated and angry because they can’t even convince members of the party they belong to to follow them. The primary obstacle to passage of cap and tax and HB3200 is DEMOCRAT opposition, not Republican. They believe that they have the perfect oppurtunity at this time in history to effect their agenda and can’t get it passed because the opposition has caused other Democrats to question whether support is a good idea.
This another reason why the liberal/socialists are so angry.
Liberals have a right to be tantruming, their 4 year plan for the Stalinization of the USA, is collapsing because their chosen sock puppet,is turning out to be an affirmative action boob, promoted way beyond his competence,by cynycal, guilt ridden liberals.Obama’s ineptitude at mendacity(the first requirement for a liberal politician), wiil soon excrete him on the dungheap of history. You know things are bad for Obamana and his Stalinist camarilla, when they have to drag Jimmy(mush from the wimp) Carter, from the historical dungheap,to vomit out , the rapidly self- discrediting, and worn-out racism trope.Obama’s only success, and it’s an ironic one,is the stimulus he has given to ordinary Americans in forming the infrastucture of resistance to his regime. This guy has been great for conservatism!
#94 BILLSLAYER about#97 DALE:Journalism” you mean like NYTimes proclaiming Stalin’s Russia a paradise,Eminem a “genius”? Or Maureen Dowd hearing voices? Or Dan Rather’s famous documents regaarding Bush, that were proven to be forgeries.Or CNN with their skewed polls? We know what kind of”journalism”you refer to Libtard, when you use the word it’s nothing but Stalinist agitprop, fit only to line parakeet cages, and rapidly disappearing .See above
Why are liberals angry?
Because they threw God under the bus, replaced him with themselves, then found out that they weren’t perfect after all. Strike one: Failure at being gods.
They denied God and his creation, including the story of Genesis, then tried to replace it with Utopia here on earth. They know Utopia can’t be obtained here. Strike two: failure at creating paradise.
They evangelized a make-believe world that is warming and needs greening up (again, setting themselves up as creators), but their theology is flawed. Strike three: failure at science.
Without God, they have no hope, so they set up a mortal as their icon of hope. He turns out to be an empty suit. Strike four: failure at discernment.
You can wrap it all up in politics if you want, but after digging through all of the layers, no God is what you’ll find in the core.
Why are liberals still angry? Because their tonic for an ailing country is making the patient worse. The liberals thought that they knew better than people who actually have worked in the business sector and managed people and companies. What loon would vote for someone who has no track record of running ANYTHING?
I would hate to be a mindless sheeple right now. It must truly be depressing knowing you’ve been duped by our community organizer in chief. No wonder they want to ban weapons. Imagine the suicide rate for liberals right now seeing their socialist Utopia dreams shriveling before their beady eyes?
The Left, in general, are angry, bitter people; they love their own misery & want to share it. Hence, their need to spread Statism into the United States of America which is antithetical to the USA’s founding. With a radical Leftist as their “leader” in President Obama, a radical San Francisco Socialist in leader, Nancy Pelosi, & the bumbling feckless leadership of Senator Harry Reid, combined with super-majorities in both Houses of Congress, the Left remains mad as hell simply due to their own rebellious, emotionally immature nature. The Left wants to transform the USA into another Communist state. Yet we are not. Capitalism lives. Freedom lives. Liberty is alive. And the Left remains an angry sack of rotten potatoes ready for the garbage bin.
Although the radical President Obama is trying his best to take control of 1/6 of the American economy is frustrated because of WE THE PEOPLE. He wants us to roll over & give our freedoms away to BIG GOVERNMENT. President Obama is in the middle of his meltdown as we speak. After this coming Sunday, I think Obama will crack when he realizes his already overexposed self is having a negative effect. President Obama–like others on the Left–is an angry, bitter, anti-American man. He is a personification of everything bad on the Left. And the Left will eat him alive when he does not deliver…
“It’s not that he lied about torture…”
LOL.
The same guys (liberal Democrats) who firebombed Tokyo, burning 100,000 civilians alive, are now bitching and moaning because a handful of terrorists had their heads ducked under water and were being forced to listen to loud music…which the liberal scum describe as torture.
Napalming Japanese babies…that’s o.k., causing terrorists mild discomfort…torture.
Whatever.
“The only thing a modern liberal cares about is his political tribe, which in the case of liberalism is simply the cheapest, easiest way to pose as something he is not: intelligent, compassionate, wise, and competent.”
Brother, you said a mouthful.
Obama was elected becouse half the electorat does not remember Carter. Clinton had to distance himself constanly from the left and never won above 50%. Perot saved Clinton each time.
We have large numbers of young adults educated by liberals and Carter is ouside there memory. I am 40 and Carter left office when I was 11. The arogance and stupidty of the democratic left has to be experinced to be belivied. When I am 70 we will elect anotherone.
Samizdat @ 29 & 101, you realize by being succinct and correct you inflame the Liberal/Marxist Passions even more. Shame on You!
Mr Fleming, I work in Ireland on occasion and I find the drunken Irish to be engaging and warm hearted.
The Progressive/Marxist takeover reminds me of a teenager that is about to address his high school and on the way to the podium, has a severe attack of dysentery. We have all seen how difficult it is for Obama to speak when he is carrying a load of crap in his trousers; somehow, it always seems to become apparent in his message. No matter how polished the delivery, a load of crap is still a load of crap. Some things in this life, you just can’t hide.
This probably explains why a Liberal/Socialist or a Progressive/Marxist holds his cards so close to his chest. You would to, if you were packing around a load of crap.
75. Dr. Laszlo: Obama is a Mikhail Gorbachev-like character.
I am intrigued at the idea. I don’t really foresee Obama supporting actual government or party reform. At least he’s bringing the truth of the Democrat’s policies to light.
I had originally hoped the Republican’s time in the wilderness might refocus them towards personal liberties, reasonable regulation and smaller government. At minimum we’ll get a lesson on why we shouldn’t elect Liberals.
95. Poor Citizen:
Do you really thing that you will win a p***ing contest concerning foreign experience bona fides with the folks on this board?
Your attitude is simply a common blind conceit that you are the only one who has ever traveled or worked beyond the sea to shining sea.
If you really are an “american[sic] that teaches overseas,” you would have to agree then that Obama’s inaugural tour was an abysmal failure. There were so many issues culturally, intellectually, and factually that would even embarrass an 18 year old with a Eurail pass and a copy of the Hitchhiker’s Guide (or simply access to Wikipedia).
–The UnPatriot
We’re not angry, we’re disgusted. We find your claims and practices to be reprehensible. Hey, did you hear that the ACORN woman all of Fox News was calling a murderer after she says she killed her husband? Guess what? He’s alive and well.
Yes, journalism is dead at Fox News, making truth dead in the conservative movement. Need proof? Easy. “2 million.”
RE # 111/The UnPatriot: Re/95. Poor Citizen: [...] you would have to agree then that Obama’s inaugural tour was an abysmal failure. There were so many issues culturally, intellectually, and factually that would even embarrass an 18 year old [...]
… and I’ll remind you a more recent, and highly significant one, that is Obama praising the Russians (when in Russia) for the Alaska deal. Now this guy knows how to make friends – the Alaska purchase is still bitterly resented by Russians of all stripes, and to bring up this issue as an American official in a speech in Russia is major proof of tactlessness (in Obama’s case, sheer ignorance).
As far as the long list of cultural and scientific achievements he credited the Arab world in his Cairo speech – that came twenty years too late after Monty Python’s last recording session.
It’s incredible how delusional, lie-making these pajammers are. FreedomWorks did an excellent job in shepherding these poor souls.
By the way, pork is delicious. Never hear of conservatives avoiding bacon, cheese and freedom fries.

The point here being that these wussies are ANGRY at US because we refuse to base our personal self-esteem on what our contemporaries and peers think of US. And therefore we will not give-in as they would to their associations.
And that enrages them to no end. Why? Because we don’t play by their self-imposed ‘rules’. And they consider that a violation.
Regards,
Chuck(le)
[I didn't make these rules. So I don't play by them.]
What we have here is the great privilege of witnessing the political version of the “Blue Screen of Death” on the part of the left.
They’re so overcome with hatred that they’ve crashed – all they can do is foam at the mouth, stomp their feet and spew a bunch of clichés that are older than Maureen Dowd.
Now they toss out the race card because all else has failed. (At least The Anointed One has the good sense to tell them to knock off the race-baiting.)
And don’t you love it when Peanuts Carter crawls out from under his rock to make another complete ass of himself — again?
And to those poor deluded paranoids who see a bunch of “behind the scenes” figures — you forgot the Aryan Brotherhood, KKK, the NRA, and Bruce Willis (to name but a few.)
The next 3.5 years are going to be hugely entertaining!
P.S. And I think this is quite apropos, considering the nature of these [il]liberals….
Hatred is the coward’s revenge for being intimidated. — George Bernard Shaw

So the string goes outside, twists himself around, and shreds some of his hair. Then he goes back inside and asks the bartender for a drink.
Bartender says, “Didn’t I tell you we don’t serve strings in here?”
The string says, “I’m a frayed knot.”

So what if the rest of the world is angry at Bush? Let me remind you the rest of the world is just as socialist as Obambi and even worst.. so, obviously they are full of hatred too against Bush (additionally to be full of cr*p).
Since I have to live in Europe by now, I have my own test to detect stupidity in people: I just ask if they hate Bush, or sometimes if they dislike Israel, or if they like Obama.. affirmative answers confirm positive-stupidity always.
Journalism is journalism, regardless of the source. You confirm everything that the left wing believes about ignorant, know nothing righties when you automatically discount a news item simply because you disagree with the author/source.
You righties could stand to learn a thing or two from real journalists – especially regarding fact checking- after last weekend’s embarrassing “2 million at the 912 rally” gaffe.–Dale
Journalism is journalism? Your sentence does not make sense. Journalism is reporting facts only; however, the MSM interjects their opinions disguised as so-called reports. Reporting the facts is one thing, but bias by omition runs rampamt in the MSM. The editorial section is only for expressing opinions as well as informing your audience.
The MSM ignored the Van Jones story until he was fired & still did not give the real reasons for his firing. Instead the MSM played Van Jones’ defense. The same applies to the ACORN scandal. The real journalists are not in the MSM anymore; it’s dead. The real journalists are various bloggers & Fox News.
As for you example of 2 million 9/12 rally, you just have disdain for anything Conservative. Why are you so angry Dale? You might need to see a doctor about you blood pressure.
“liberals start to realize this, they’re only going to get screechier and angrier. So we might as well figure out a way to use that.”

They became liberals in the first place because hatred, self-loathing, envy and grudge-holding are what motivate them. They haven’t evolved into what they are, and what they are isn’t caused by anything or anyone. It’s sort of like asking why short people are short: it’s what they are and they are going to die short. Liberals are hate-filled and angry, period.
If all conservatives died off the liberals would immediately start hating each other. These are not decent people provoked; they are indecent people living their lives as they are coded to do. The rest of us need to stop trying to talk to them as if they are potentially normal. Forget it.
Very, very accurate piece.
I can’t tell you know many times I’ve been told I’m stupid or evil for not going along with whatever liberal agenda.
#128 and all others like this….it is so easy to put fingers on buttons and type out your hate…too bad we can’t meet personally…you might get shown just what true racism is.
The Uber leftist BDDers have been angry since Wilson couldn’t get their agenda through at the beginning of the last century. While their compatriots learned that socialism, communism, totalitarianism were bad ideas, here in America they didn’t care. They continued to push for their agenda and now with Obama they have it. The only problem is that the people are not with them. Nothing they have proposed is worthy of a great country like America, but the hatemongers do not care, they want what they want regardless of who gets injured or dies. That is the truth and you all on that side cannot see, hear or understand it. Live with it. Do your worst, but there are elections coming sooner than you want and we will begin to take our country back.
IMAO………Great job Frank. You know why liberals are angry don’t you though. They miss the 60′s and are furious they had to grow up wear underwear and work for a living (they’re all chaffed, makes them cranky). All that free love and mind altering substances cost real money.
Go figure.
The Left is quite mindless once you present facts of the real world to them.I spoke of what happened to a friend of mine about healthcare in canada where he had to wait three years for surgery on his colon because he had no health insurance. The dumb-ass Lib says to me and i quote “What does surgery have to do with health care?”.I logged off without saying a word.
It shouldnt be too hard for conservatives to take back America from the dumbo Lefties.Just do it quietly with logic and reason, and stop listening to the lunatic fringe on the right or the left.
Great article — he nails the Socialist Progressive Democrat anger perfectly. Why, we have a few angry, racist Democrats on here as well to further drive home the points presented in the article.
These Liberal Democrat idiots think that they’re smarter and more worldly than conservatives? They’re finding out just how little they actually know about the world around them, and it frightens them. All of the hateful emotions and whispy delusions that they’ve pinned their sense of self and purpose upon aren’t tangible unless they have an object for their hatred. It’s confusing and terrifying for them to discover that their vehicle of change is, ironically, providing the fuel for the profound dismantling of their cherished world views. All these Socialist Progressive Democrats have left to contribute are vitriol and derision — hardly worthy of merit except as an object lesson to those who are still on the fence about the side they’ll take moving forward.
It’s fairly obvious that these Komrades espousing the Socialist Progressive views here and elsewhere have come joined into the battle of wits completely disarmed. They have no argument with any shred of merit — only the flailings of emotion, innuendo, and accusation. In the days ahead, they’ll gather together in dark places to avoid the retributions that are sure to come their way as this country incrementally pivots back toward a Democratic Republic based upon individual liberties.
Angry AND ignorant is a pitiful way to go through life, Dems. Have some compassion the next time you see one of these intellectually lazy creatures & toss them a fact or two — they won’t thank you for it, but at least you’ll know that you’ve done something nice for a mentally disabled person that day.
So how much longer till Hunting Season Opens again on Libs? I still have my Terrorist Hunting License.
And are they going to increase the limit this year?
Wow this was right on. I hope lots of screechy liberals read it and go in to spantaneous combustion.
The logical side of my brain says the whole idea is a pipe dream, but the nevertheless the premise is brilliant!
Liberals remind me of drunks who won’t give up the car keys. “Come on , I’ll drive!” they say as the rest of us say “No thanks, I’ll get a cab.” and then roll our eyes and wonder if tonight is the night they kill themselves and a car full coming from the opposite direction. They are a menace/
Frank J. Fleming is part of the problem.
He still calls hard leftists ‘liberals’. That is effectively ceding the battle to the leftists. Why agree to call your opponents a positive, unearned, and wholly undeserved adjective? They are not ‘liberal’ or ‘progressive’ at all, but rather illiberal, thuggish, vulgar, fascist, and hypocritical.
No one who is truly ‘liberal’ would be so consistently angry and bitter.
But Frank J. Fleming is a typical unthinking conservative who is easily duped into calling his opponents the better word while accepting the less impressive adjective for himself and his group.
Hence, with friends like these….
The left is acting like a spoiled child. The more you give them, the more they want, and they want it RIGHT NOW!!
4. stuart williamson:
Amen to your comments. You are right. Speaking as a disenchanted Dem, it is truly amazing how one’s perspective changes when the scales fall. I should say I supported Hillary, not Obama and knew enough about his record or the lack thereof and his flip flops not to vote for him.
Another pointless cranial flatulence of a post, full of gross over generalizations and reeking of irony, that’s right this is PJM!
Spare a thought for the poor lefties caught up in all this bitterness and burning hatred for others; all this self-imposed anger will be doing their poor hearts no good at all. No wonder they want free health care for all that pumped up blood pressure they’re having.

Socialist Party of America presidential candidate Norman Thomas in 1948:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.”
The Libs are perennially angry because they are a permanent minority, which they neither will admit nor do they like. They must partner with some lower life form — Moderates or Conservatives, for example — in order to even get a seat at the table, and then inevitably find their dinner partners don’t like their menu.
They’re still nuts, but why?
Because of what they see when they look in the mirror.
The anger stems from a sense of entitlement writ large. Repesentatives, Senators, Presidents, are all frustrated by what they cannot do. No matter how powerful the position there are always limits, like that pesky constitution, or the opposition party, getting in the way.

He’s right. And, I would not put it past Obama and his mindless ‘Marching Morons‘ to resort to violence. Even more violent and widespread than what we witnessed last August with union thugs beating up people in the streets and other nitwits biting off the fingers of opponents.

P.S. Why do you think Obama supports a bill working its way through Congress to gain total control of the internet in the event of an ‘emergency’?
I suspect there could well be such an ‘emergency’ sometime in 2010. Before the general election that will remove the Democrats from power in the the Congress.
It’s just a matter of watching all the pieces move into place, as Jeff Goldbloom says in Independence Day…..Checkmate……
I think they are inherently angry and they were practically born that way. Some people just look at the world as they grow up and KNOW its all wrong. No matter how much better things are than they were 1000, 100, or even 20 years ago, things are still just terrible, and someone must be responsible. They never learn that the world is naturally a pretty cruel and unforgiving place, and that our society is a long term project that has suffered and learned much to get us here (which is MUCH better than there). Instead life is all about SHOULD. It SHOULD be easy to give everyone free healthcare. It SHOULD be easy to eliminate poverty. Nevermind that those types of things simply aren’t possible.
“Who knows, maybe one day we can even figure out how to direct [their anger] against America’s enemies.”
That’s what they are doing – because liberals think that America is the enemy.

P.S. However, as it is written…..

….they cannot ‘keep’ their tongue…..
Throughout all of this thread, and for that matter throughout most of the Bush and all of the Obama administrations I cannot help but be reminded of this post from September of 2004. It concentrates on the evils of Situational Ethics and morality and has always seemed to me to speak to the very core of what passes for Liberalism in the US today. In particular the following passage seems to encapsulate why the US shouldn’t give a damn what European intellectuals think of us:
The situation in Western Europe is far worse. The sickness of moral relativism (and that truly is what the less provocative phrase “situation ethics” means) has been virtually enshrined in the European mind. Nations that howled under the crushing boot of fascism some seventy years ago now pay homage to the sovereignty of butchers and tolerate the killing of Jews. Corruption in government is so widespread that it barely raises an eyebrow unless those caught out are somehow in disfavor at the moment. Two World Wars and a half-century of reliance on the sheltering arm of the United States for their security have thoroughly fractured the heart of once-great peoples. Moral relativism has turned justice in to crime, liberation in to imperialism, and patriotism in to nascent fascism. There is now half a continent of peoples who cannot recognize evil by its stench or its vileness. When the European Union collapses in to civil war they will be helpless to resist the resulting tyranny. Instead they shall welcome it, for tyranny shall be salvation and liberty an evil lie. The circle of “situation ethics” as the core of moral philosophy shall be complete. All that shall remain is to build the camps and fire the ovens.
The whole thing meanders about a bit, but in the end it seems to apply both to Liberals/Progressives and in a smaller way to why they are so enraged to find they cannot twist the meaning of words to render an unqualified ‘evil’ as something objectively ‘good’. The attempt to warp reality this way has to be daunting and most of them are not up to the intellectual challenge, so the fall back on the old stand-by: hate and anger.

This is a great article. Congratulations!
I particularly liked the “spite” bit. Of course. Obama wants to be president more than he wants to advance liberal ideas. So when the time comes he’ll ditch the liberals yelling “sellout,” give them the finger, and tack towards the center.
But the Left DOESN’T yet have all the power…..they don’t yet dominate my healthcare, Limbaugh is still on the air, and firearms remain in the hands of citizens. The tantrums, lying and drama queen acts are in response to HUMAN resistance to such consolidation of SOCIALIST power.
……now that I got that out, I’ll proceed from the headline to the article.

He won’t go for the ‘center’, as he is not merely your run of the mill poll-watching politician. He’s a Bolshevik. I think he’ll do as Lenin did in the late 20s when the kulaks rebelled against his shoving socialism down their throats…..
….he’ll have mobs go out and hang these latter-day kulaks from every lamp-post they can find. Or maybe what Stalin did in the early 1930s, when he had all the remaining kulaks sent off to Siberia for ‘re-education’. Few of which survived the training experience.
And this is what Ayers, Obama’s political science mentor, suggested needed to be done to these latter-day kulaks. Shipped off to the American Southwest for ‘re-education’. A number around 25 million such latter-day kulaks was mentioned as likely to need such ‘training’.

Now is the time for every man to take his purse and buy a sword.
P.P.P.S. I notice that in August there were over 1 million guns bought in this country. Up 12% from a year ago. And ammunition is STILL hard to find…..
Guys, be easy on the leftist cultist. They don’t hate all americans. Only americans that are christian or white. Which leaves 25% of America they do not have a problem with.
They served as an Obama campaign wing. They got him elected based on his radical socialist agenda and that “change” they desperately wanted. He’s grabbing private industry, corporations, and banks in accordance with his socialist policies. Isn’t that what they wanted? A government crackdown on ‘evil captialists’? Instead of letting the free market determine who was financially fit to stay in business, they wanted a dictator to take control of even the most unworthy—as long as it benefit the disenfranchized poor—in the name of ’social justice’. He’s shredded the Constitution without so much as a peep out of the Left.
They wanted a ‘president’ that would improve America’s ‘image’ by presenting a conciliatory posture towards the offended world; for all past transgessions, real or imagined.
He schmoozed with Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, and Evo Morales on his Latin-America apology tour, only to get lectured on American “imperialism”. He’s trying to ‘make up’ for the Great Satan’s insolent reprisals for the atrocities commited by Islamofascist countries on our soil. He bowed to the Saudi king and plays patty-cake with Iran, which might content his adoring hometown crowd, but the goons in the Middle East aren’t satisfied yet.
He did backtrack on GITMO. Even an idiot like Obama has second thoughts about releasing unremorseful jihadist cutthoats back out into society. He’s also reneged on the “immediate pullout” from Iraq and Afghanistan, because he doesn’t want to fold the winning hand passed to him by George Bush.
And for that, the Left is perfunctorily outraged.
He ran as the ‘people’s candidate’; a ‘community organizer’ with a Leninist ’spread the wealth’ agenda. Having that kind of political package wrapped in dark skin was a plus for the fawning Left.
Save for a few glitches, the Left basically got what they demanded. They have a majority in Congress and Senate, as well as an apparatchik in the White House.
I said at the beginning of Obama’s regime that they will only get their panties in a wad if he doesn’t fulfill their leftwing expectations. All of them.
We have about 3 1/2 years remaining to see how many more of Obama’s worshipers turn apostate.
There is no way around it. For the looney left to be truly and forever defeated, it will be necessary for a full-out reputation network to exist in which *all* relevant information about the general past and personal backgrounds is immediately available in condensed form, regarding *any* person who runs for political office. When the average person sees how truly crazy are people like Obama and Pelosi, they will turn away in revulsion, especially after seeing the relevant historical documentation of the millions murdered in the Russian and Chinese Communist revolutions and why they were murdered. These frothing cauldrons of barely hidden hatred really do believe in their hearts that their opponents deserve to be dead.
95. Poor Citizen: Sorry guys, but I was only adding some truth to the article. By the way no. 41 “macko” Im an american that teaches overseas, so I would suggest your the one that needs to find your local airport, ok son?
Oh, please. You might need to move out of the circle of elitist snobs you seem to be exposed to, to actually get a real understanding of what the people of other countries are like. Sounds to me like you are in another echo chamber. And what and who do you teach?
My mother is Dutch. I have lived on 5 continents and different so many different countries I lose track of it. I took the time to learn many of these languages, people’s cultures and customs, and their interests and thinking, despite choosing to follow a technical career. I have relatives and friends scattered across the globe. We often get told how tribal African and Asian nations are, but the fact is that’s even worse in Europe. Want to see racism? Pick any European country you want and talk to the people about their immigrants. Nobody beats them for intolerance. Not even the Middle Easterners.
Indubitably and generally without exception, I have found that the people that profess a dislike for America do so out of jealousy or a deep seeded need to paint America negatively, to prop their own culture or country up. It is about envy. They are indoctrinated to think America is not so great because of their own insecurities. Whenever I asked foreigners I knew well if they had a choice to move elsewhere to name the place they would go, 4 out of 5 would pick America to come to. For a country they dislike and look down upon such a revelation is telling.
And do not confuse the people of other countries with their leadership. Many of the common people in every country I have had the luxury of visiting actually like America. Even when they might disagree with things about it. But it is practically always amongst the elite and the leadership that you find the preference for democrats in charge of America, and then precisely because they are weak and willing to give up American interests to curry favor. These are the people that liked Obama the most and disliked Bush so much.
How I did not rain too hard on your parade. And that was not “truth” you added to the article. It was drivel.

You know your analysis will be read like this by the intended ‘audience’, right?
“….liberals….democrats…vitirols..progressives…hate…..socialists….”
Liberals are angry in part because they do not believe us when we say we believe in less government and individual rights.
When you view government action as an inherently good thing, the question becomes how best to direct that action to ensure the most just and fair outcome. Since really believe in using the power of government to order society properly, they assume that their opponents do as well. Thus for them the struggle is not between advocates of social control and libertarianism but between two competing visions of an ordered society — one a beneficent nanny state that cares for its citizens, the other a George Orwell “1984″ one that oppresses them.
I think that’s why they get apoplectic when confronted with those that try to block their programs. To the people who believe that “If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem,” and “The personal is political,” anyone not down with the idea of using government power to “help” must clearly hate those the program is designed for. It never even occurs to them that conservatives and libertarians might actually mean what they say — that government programs designed to help usually do more harm than good and that the less government, the better. Lets not forget — both “Brave New World” and “1984″ were visions of socialism. Guess which one today’s “liberals” wish to implement?
Fun article, but the comments are even better, I love the libs popping up like a Greek chorus, spouting their lines. Tragedy/comedy.
A story about a lib (my cousin): My aunt (age 84) forwarded an email about the negative financial aspects of illegal immigration to my mother (79). Mom, not knowing that Cousin was a big lib, forwarded the email on to him. He immediately fired back an email that boiled down to calling them both racists, and smugly claiming that he didn’t want to be associated with racists.
Mom wouldn’t tell me for a long time what his answer was, I knew it hurt her feelings, and my aunt felt the same, plus the humiliation of her son insulting my mother, her sister. My aunt told me that months later she brought it up with him, and he said, ‘oh, let’s just put that aside…’ So there was never any apology or explanation. The impression I got was that he was being kind in putting aside their ‘racism’.
What would cause someone to hurt two elderly ladies without a racist bone in their bodies, who love him? A threat to his identity and worldview might do it… Anybody with a little maturity might have considered whether it was worth it to offend them, considering the relationships, their ages, that neither is politically active, etc. etc.

I am switching slightly, re: ACORN revelation.
What if turning over a small rock, instead of the normal worms and cockroaches scrambling to deeper darkness, we find a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike?
Whatever the ‘emergency’, ‘crisis’ before 2010 had a long time coming, who(s)ever behind it had a long time agitating and fermenting the foul brew.
As the ACORN scandal escalating, (I believe there are a lot more materials, inevitably trace back to Chicago), they would have to unleash the crisis, don’t you think?
I think Mr. Fleming is wrong about how we can maybe force Obama to a more centrist position. Obama is, and will always be, under the narcissistic delusion that the sheer power of his personality is all he needs to get what he wants accomplished. No amount of failures will convince him otherwise. After all, look how easy it was to go from nobody to President in 3 years.

You do understand you have not the slightest bit of proof of these silly assertions, right?
By the way dum-dum, if all of this is being “organized” by the GOP, why is ObamaCare stuck at 42% in the polls?
Don’t worry simpleton, you can’t answer…

Without a doubt. The problem *I* have is…well…think of pre-election time. Think of posting during the last two weeks before the election. Think of the INTENSE “white noise” (to be generous and diplonatic) created by these Leftist interlopers. Think of how it was near-impossible to continue a discussion through the nonsensical prattling of the Axelrod-ish party-crashers….
These b*stards do NOT have “debate”, “discussion”, “civil exchange of ideas” in mind…
…ONLY:
distract, divert, disunite
with their near-mindless heckling.
While that may be on “entertainment” to you (…and, admittedly, sometimes for me, too), there are too many legitimate posters here (be they conservative or independent) who seem to be unsuspecting, less-skeptical and all-too vulnerable-to-the-siren-call of these Obama-Team cheerleaders. And, even for those who are able to ignore their cyber-diarhea, it nevertheless becomes most difficult (see paragraph 2 above) to communicate and develop argumentation.

RE: [OT] The ‘Emergency’….a.k.a….The Siege
Speculation on the exact form the ‘event’ would take is just so much mental wargaming. It could be anything from another OKC Bombing to a series of assassinations [think the original Manchurian Candidate].
I’m more interested in general aspects such as:
• Who would be openly blamed for the ‘event’.
• What actions the federal government would take to ‘resolve’ the potential for future ‘events’.
• The exercise of the Bill of Rights under whatever the federal government actions were taken.
There are STILL some necessary ‘legal fig leaves’ to put in place before the ‘event’ can happen and the federal government hope for any success in their ‘follow-through’.
One of which is the passage of that bill which gives the president the ability to shut down the internet. This to let no other message but their own go out after the ‘event’.
The other is the further restriction, if not the outright banning of the ownership of personal firearms.

The questions become:
• Who was committing political violence in San Fran in the Late 70s?

Three guesses?

Liberals are angry because nobody’s buying what they’re selling. They can’t win an argument on substance because they’re wrong on every issue. Hence, the continued use of Bush, racism, etc. whenever they’re backed into a corner. They should have been born in Europe and they can’t figure out how they wound up in the US. Does anyone here see the irony of these posts….the article is about the angry left. All liberals…over and over again what kind of comments are being made about liberals? ANGRY, VERY ANGRY COMMENTS. Sorry, just struck my funny bone. # 190…you are right, I don’t believe that most conservatives want less gov’t and more individual rights, because that only appears true if the individual rights are ones the right morally approves of. Best example is the Terri Schiavo case. In Oregon, the federal govt tried to interfere with our Assisted Suicide Law. The right generally has been deeply involved in that as they don’t morally approve. I do agree that when it comes to fiscal matters the conservatives generally want less govt. but to me, they appear to want to legislate morality…their morals, of course.

I did not realize that the author is a humorist until the credits. I’m thinking many of the commenters don’t realize it yet. It continues to amaze me how the people on any side of any issue who write the strongest statements about the vitriol or stupidity or any other demeaning characteristics of the other side are engaging in the same. Thus, the above two quotes, one from Ray Stevens. The other from scripture.
On the point of supposed racism I think we need all to check our baggage now and then. We, black and white and Latino and Jew and everyone, tend now and again to assume things about others based on little beyond appearances. I do not think the leftist/liberals are exempt from this failing, and they may be more deeply and more often guilty of it than we American conservatives. My evidence for that is their utter hatred for some of the most gifted and intelligent people in America. At the top of their list is Clarence Thomas—followed by Condoleezza Rice, Miguel Estrada, and many other people of other than ‘white’ heritage, some of whom are imminently qualified to lead our country and would be enthusiastically supported by what the leftist/liberals like to call the racist right.
But the strongest evidence of racism on the part of leftist/liberals is their decision to suggest for the presidency a white Marxist in a black skin—that is the sort of crap they can get behind.
I’m glad the leftist/liberals are here to listen and learn, but there is no real need for us to reply to them.

I think you’ve nailed it. The comments here aren’t about how angry the left is – they’re about how much the right hates the left. I’ve only skimmed, but I don’t think I’ve spotted any comments that actually take on the question. Guys – even if you do hate liberals, isn’t it even a LITTLE bit interesting to know why they’re apparently so mad? Because you’re still going to have to put up with them when you finally do to obama whatever it is you’re planning to do – and they’ll be every bit as vicious as you are right now, plus a bit more.
Personally (and as an outsider) think american liberals are mad because they see their country being held back by greed and stupidity – and it’s not just the greedy and stupid who have to pay for it. And even when they DO win an election fair and square, they’re up against massive vested interests who are apparently able to convince millions of people that black is white, so the best of ideas are seen as anti-american. Congressmen then follow the votes and the money. I honestly don’t see anything that obama’s done so far that could make people angry enough that public figures would wish for him to be dead, or openly want him to fail as a president. Personally I think he’s on the right track, so I’m fascinated that a country that voted for him in historic numbers and supported the very plans he’s trying to implement now has turned around and despises the guy before he’s even done anything. Something’s not quite right with that picture.

I’m a Canadian, but I follow American politics because honestly, they are significantly more volatile and interesting than our own.
I’m finding the current demonizing of a social health care system to be mystifying. We’ve had that here for years, and all people can get the care they need. It’s fine.
I appreciate that Obama may not be the perfect force for change that many Americans wish him to be, but neither was Bush. They are men, and therefore are imperfect. But at least Obama is trying to make your country into something other than… scary warmongers who seem to want to dominate the world.
In the media, even the media that leans heavily towards conservatives, the conservative opinions are often coming off as rude, insane and scary.
Obviously not all conservative opinions are incorrect. Both parties have a strong grounding in morality and principles, but from an outsider perspective, it looks like the conservative party is trying its best to damage what is being built becuase it’s ‘different’.
sorry (canadians must apologize, it’s the law), I can tell that this is a conservative heavy thread, but from the perspective of another country, you would have more success if you would work together.

P.S. And where I say “honest commercial enterprise” (above), I do NOT believe that a monopoly—as in the AMA’s monopoly on medical care in the US—is either ‘honest’ or ‘commercial’. It certainly IS an ‘enterprise’ and a very lucrative one at that.
I seem to remember Enron giving quite a bit of money to the Bush family leading up to W’s first term. How is that not corruption?
And I saw a comment about Fox news telling the truth.. and that’s why libs don’t like them. How can anyone have a reasonable argument with someone who truly believes Fox is honest and unbiased?
Please let us know when Conservatives have a leader they can actually look up to and respect. Then perhaps there can be some fruitful dialogue. Until then, we’re forced to see the leader as being Glenn “Blame Acorn for the levees failing in New Orleans” Beck and the tea party protesters, many of whom complained afterwards about how poor the underfunded public transportation system in Washington DC was.
I never realized being liberal made me a “socialist”. I didn’t realized socialism was so black and white. They had the noble idea of providing a means for the elderly to supplement their livlihood, in the event that retirement just couldn’t cover their expenses. They screwed it up though, and we have Social Security and Medicare.
And some of their programs are simply laughable. Take affirmative action for instance: Never have I come across such a racist piece of legislature in modern time. Seriously, think about it. “Oh, poor Latino man, are you trying to get a job? Well, obviously you NEED the help, because you are just a poor man of Spanish descent, so we’re going to force someone to take you on, whether or not you are qualified; we’ll just assume you wouldn’t qualify on your own, since you’re a different color.”
“And you, poor little black girl, you want to go to college? Well, obviously, JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE BLACK, you need SPECIAL help, so we’ll single you out for acceptance, based on nothing but the color of your skin.”
Of course, it’s not racist if THEY do it; they’re just helping out those people that are naturally handicapped by their non-whiteness. And they call anybody who doesn’t agree with them racist. Makes me laugh.
They’re always so angry because they see their good intentions go up in smoke, and they don’t get why. It’s because in order for their programs to work, people have to fundamentally different, andthat’s just not going to happen.
And some times, they just screw up horribly. I mean, you can trace the vast majority of Middle Eastern hatred for the US directly back to Jimmy Carter and how he handled the Mecca incident of ’76 (or was it ’77? It was the same time as the embassy attacks back then). Way to go, you guys made the Muslims hate us, because we couldn’t keep our noses out of matters that didn’t concern us.
I’ve been extreamly turned off by all the political crap in this great nation since this all started with Obama . I really thought and still do feel that the man is fundalmentaly against this nation and will do anything in his power to destroy this once proud land . So I have been refusing to read this stuff on here , but I’m glad I read this today and I think no matter what your affiliation is that you are truly a learned individual and your opinion seems to me to be compleatly valid . truth is there was alot more to do with this election of Obama than what the people really wanted it’s called the old boys network the ones who actualy place our leaders, the electorial coledge . we should all learn who they are and get rid of them first then we can start to rebuild . we do have the right in this country to over through our government as long as we astablish a new government imeadiatly ,but while we would work on this we would still be protected by our parralel government(The N.S.C.). Just something for all of us to think about .
Can’t you just hate George W Bush because it’s embarrassing to be represented by a man who isn’t very smart? His parents are embarrassed of him for God’s sake. I don’t like anything about Obama, but at least he isn’t a moron.
You have to be corrupt to be in politics- that is the bipartisan system.
The argument between liberals and conservatives is ridiculous.
Anyone who EVER feels represented by this government scares me.
Republicans, Bush, they didn’t screw up at all. Remember back when Clinton was in office. He was rightly taking advantage of the Reagan’s success to improve things, and took good advantage of it too, and it benefited us all. But Clinton was a Democrat, and made cuts to our military and did other Democrat things.
Well, Bush, came in and suddenly had to contend with rebuilding part of the military, but Democrats, if you remember, Congressional Democrat supporters were already in full gear by like the 3rd or 4th month already trying to demonize the war. This made things difficult as Democrats were a rather strong force in Congress at the time.
Well, all throughout the Bush years, we had ups and downs with our economy that were exacerbated by the solid opposition that Democrats kept hassling Bush with, especially where it regarded the war and war provisions. Bush didn’t do a lot of tap-dancing with Democrats, which tells you something, Bush made sure that the bills he proposed were something Democrats wouldn’t give him too much trouble on. I
Now if you continue to remember, as time went on, Democrat opposition to Bush’s policies became more and more strong, media demonized the war more and more, and then it came to precipice in 2006 when Democrats and their media’s demonizing of Bush won them control of Congress.
Now remember, then Democrats proceeded to reject everything Republican, refused to maintain Bush’s policies, which were seeing an upturn, by the way, and then substantial revisions had to be made several concessions. Then we started to see a downturn in the economy that Democrats in Congress insisted on borrowing to recover from, and Bush played ball with his own revisions that he thought would work.
Then an unprecedented economic crash comes just as it looks McCain might pull ahead of Obama and just in the knick of time to win Democrats unprecedented success in all elections. What’s more odd is that those two companies who’s collapse made all of this happen were 2 very Democrat supporting companies who all liberals assumed based on their own preconceived baseless assumptions were Republican allies when in fact they were very very very much Democrat allies.
If Democrats in 2006 had actually worked with Bush instead of rejecting him and his policies to maintain the Reagan-style policies that were indeed working before Democrats took over in 2006, our economy would not have seen the crash that it did.
And I’m not entirely convinced it was coincidental either because it literally tanked the economy in a matter of a couple months literally just before election day. The most detrimental economic collapse since the Great Depression happens just in time to win Democrats unchallengeable control, and it was caused by companies who favor Democrats by hundreds of thousands of dollars more than Republicans because of obviously ridiculous and dangerous lending practices. You tell me that doesn’t sound mighty suspicious.
And lets remember one other thing, just as America was poised to demand off shore drilling due to gas prices, the worse oil disaster in world history happens just in time for Democrats to say “no” and still maintain their support. Even liberals recognize BP exec’s seeming unwillingness to deal with the disaster properly and in a timely manner. Those two coincidences are might mighty convenient. It’s almost like Democrats or Obama were possibly encouraged at the success that economic collapse brought and might have thought another unprecedented disaster might bring them more success in another arena that would in turn shovel much more money and support towards Obama. It could be very coincidental just like the rest of the world suddenly having oil leaks as well, roughly all at the same time, which is something else that’s never happened before just as people were poised to still demand off shore drilling despite the BP disaster. Sort of proved that it wasn’t an isolated incident having it happen in so many other places unexpectedly like that. Our science was supposed to be more sound today than a decade ago, yet we have an unprecedented amount of leaks all over the world. Maybe the structures 10 years ago were actually stronger and the science that improved them was just in error, or perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but come on, when do disasters ever spell success for leaders in power like just about all of them have for Democrats thus far? Things like this don’t just happen on this kind of scale, and even if they did, they wouldn’t happen just in time to give the current people in power more money and support from their constituents.
And just in time to convince the naysayers to change their minds and agree.
