Hollywood actor Tracy Morgan told PJ Media that he wants President Obama and Congress to “get rid of guns.”

Actress Kate Walsh and Actor Tim Daly told PJ Media that more gun control will not take away anyone’s constitutional rights.

The celebrities made their comments over the White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend in Washington.

Morgan was asked if he is disappointed that Obama’s gun-control initiatives have not been passed by Congress.

“I mean, if we could get guns under control, if we could get rid of them, I’m with all of that. I’ve had a lot of friends that have died violently from guns. Of course. I hope that wasn’t a booby trap question,” Morgan said at a Creative Coalition event launching White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend.

“Of course I want to get rid of guns. My father fought in the Vietnam War and he forbid us to have guns when he came home when we were little, so yes.”

The Creative Coalition is a nonprofit organization “formed for the charitable and educational purposes of bringing together artists and entertainers to learn about pressing issues so they can better inform and influence the community and nation.”

Can we get rid of Tracy Morgan instead?

The purpose of entertainers is to alleviate the boredom of the rest of us. The best of them are obscenely well-paid for that purpose, so they shouldn't have any problem underrtanding what their place is. In the old days they were not the aristocracy -- they were the court jesters and whores. That's what they still are, and they should be reminded of that.

“No one’s taking away anyone’s constitutional rights. You know, the First Amendment allows us freedom of speech. We can’t yell fire in a theater. We can’t defame people. All of these things, they’re not an open book. There’s modifications to all our constitutional rights and the Second Amendment should be no different,” Daly said at the WHCD.

Right, stupid. You can't wave your gun around at people. You can't shoot people without an imminent threat. In other words, there already ARE limitations on the 2nd amendment.

In Shakespeare's time, actors were held in lower regard than garbage collectors. Now I understand why.

While we're at it:
With GPS-enable cell phones, we can now require all phones to stop working when they are traveling more than 10MPH therefore saving lives from being violently and mercilessly destroyed by distracted driving.

Then there's that thirty-something thousand people killed every year from drug (predominantly legal) abuse. I haven't heard much from Hollywood on that. Background checks, anyone?

Think about it: Entire families destroyed by space heater fires. Evil space heater owners should be ashamed. And to think you can walk into any Walmart and buy one. No background check. No nothing. Incredible.

There was a time when the press in this country believed it had a duty to protect individual rights and freedoms from an over-reaching gubmint. Now they seem to think their only duty is to kiss liberal politicians' backsides.

Why didn't the interviewer ask Mr. Moron, ...er, Morgan, how he would get the bad guys to give up their guns?

Right! That makes perfect sense. So now let's have background checks before a person can exercise First Amendment rights. You need a license, subject to arbitrary veto by the police, and conviction of a felony, even a non-violent one, can take away your First Amendment rights forever. In places where "one gun per month" limits exist, you can only make one public speech per month too. In places where magazines are restricted to 10 rounds, public speaking is likewise restricted to 10 minutes. Where "assault weapons" are banned, speech with unnecessary rhetorical flourishes can also be banned. (Why does anyone really need a bayonet lug these days? Is there a public speaker who really NEEDS to use dangling modifiers?)

Oh, I'm sorry. Is that not what you meant?

"We can’t yell fire in a theater."

Actually, we can - just as long as the theater is in fact on fire.

Smell that yet? It's the country going up in smoke....

Shouldn't the Press and the White House be eternal enemies? Shouldn't the Press always see the White House as a castle to be infiltrated, so the secrets of the elite will be shown on the front page?

I've come to admire Jay Leno, I don't really watch him, but I've seen some clips of him making fun of Obama. He knows it is his job to make fun of the people in power, too make the most powerful man in the world the butt of our jokes. Too many comedians simply refuse to target Obama. SNL is a great example, Obama is always the straight man playing off the buffoonery of the party NOT in power.

Why the F does anybody care what these Hollywood phonies have to say? They are a bunch of coke heads that have NEVER done anything to defend this nation and just like Jane Fonda, will prostitute themselves out for media attention. They have no clue on what it means to honor this country and defend it.

I've had myocardial infarctions that were more entertaining.

What was the cost of the canned laughter? And did it come out of Obama's pocket, or We, The People? Did you notice it was loud enough to drown out the gagging, groans, and farting?
