What Else Is Wrong with Obamacare?
With the Supreme Court’s decision to review the constitutionality of Obamacare’s individual mandate, that feature of Obamacare has been getting a lot of attention. The individual mandate is the requirement that essentially every American buy government-approved health insurance under penalty of law. The Obama administration claims that because Congress is empowered to regulate interstate commerce, it is also empowered to compel interstate (or, more often, intrastate) commerce — which is a rather novel interpretation of the Constitution.
Moreover, the news from the Court comes hot on the heels of the passage of an anti-individual-mandate measure in Ohio. The measure was approved by voters in all 88 counties of that crucial swing state — and by at least 20-point margins in 81 of those counties.
In light of these developments, it’s not surprising that the individual mandate has been getting plenty of attention of late. But is the mandate really the only thing that’s wrong with this 2,700-page de facto legal code that’s masquerading as a “law”? Hardly.
Here’s a partial list of the myriad other objectionable features of Obamacare:
It’s 2,700 pages long. Legislation of such unconscionable length is not only complicated to a degree that’s hard to fathom — this chart from Sen. Jim DeMint helps to some extent (you have to enlarge it to see it) — but it also severs the link between the law and the average citizen. It makes it essentially impossible for the law to be something that the citizenry can know and understand, even to a reasonable degree. A complicated monstrosity like Obamacare is a vehicle for government by bureaucratic and lawyerly “elites,” not for government by the people.
It would cause millions of Americans to lose their employer-sponsored health insurance and be dumped into Obamacare “exchanges.” These exchanges would be heavily subsidized, which means that much of the burden of health coverage would be shifted from employers to taxpayers. Already, 4.5 million Americans have lost their employer-sponsored health insurance since Obamacare was passed, as the overhaul offers plentiful financial incentives for employers to get out of the business of providing health care for their employees. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) had estimated that from 2010 to 2011 six million people would gain employer-sponsored insurance — so the CBO’s estimates are already off by more than 10 million people. If Obamacare goes fully into effect (in 2014), far more Americans will lose their employer-sponsored health insurance.
It would loot Medicare. The CBO projects that during the overhaul’s real first decade (2014 to 2023), nearly $1 trillion would be siphoned out of Medicare and spent on Obamacare. The decision by President Obama and the then-Democratic Congress to fund much of Obamacare by pilfering from Medicare was an act of unusual political brazenness — one that voters in Florida aren’t likely to forget. (Most of the rest of Obamacare would be funded through tax increases.) The resulting lower reimbursement rates for Medicare providers — which the Medicare chief actuary says would soon fall below even the reimbursement rates for Medicaid providers — would mean that Medicare patients would either find themselves getting rushed through their medical visits, or else having fewer health-care providers be willing to see them at all.
It would cost twice as much as the deficit commission is trying to “save.” The CBO says that Obamacare would cost an estimated $2.5 trillion during its real first ten years, at a time when the deficit commission is trying to come up with $1.2 trillion in “savings” over ten years.
It would raise, rather than lower, health costs. The Medicare chief actuary says that Obamacare would increase health costs by hundreds of billions of dollars by the end of this decade.
It would massively expand Medicaid. At a time when our national debt is $15,000,000,000,000.00 and is about the size of our entire gross domestic product, Obamacare would provide a colossal expansion of Medicaid — expanding it to cover portions of the middle class. In fact, the CBO projects that fully half of the newly insured under Obamacare would be people dumped into Medicaid at taxpayer expense (see Table 4).
It would establish the grisly IPAB. The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) is a sort of poor man’s (because less powerful) British National Institute for Clinical Health and Excellence (NICE), the British rationing agency that so many of Obama’s nominees are rather enamored with. The IPAB would be charged with keeping future Medicare spending below a specified level. The dictates of its 15 unelected members would have the force of law and couldn’t be overruled even by a majority vote in both houses of Congress and the president’s signature.
It would politicize medicine and amass unprecedented power and money in Washington at the expense of Americans’ liberty. Alexis de Tocqueville warned democracies of the extraordinary dangers of the consolidation and centralization of power. He warned:
A democratic republic … in which … administrative centralization [was] accepted by custom and by law … would become more intolerable than in any of the absolute monarchies of Europe.
It may easily be foreseen that almost all the able and ambitious members of a democratic community will labor unceasingly to extend the powers of government, because they all hope at some time or other to wield those powers themselves. It would be a waste of time to attempt to prove to them that extreme centralization may be injurious to the state, since they are centralizing it for their own benefit.
The individual mandate is only the tip of the iceberg. It’s time to repeal Obamacare.

” It makes it essentially impossible for the law to be something that the citizenry can know and understand, even to a reasonable degree. A complicated monstrosity like Obamacare is a vehicle for government by bureaucratic and lawyerly “elites,” not for government by the people.”
Mean While – Ignorance of the Law Is NO Excuse!
When “the laws” are so arcane and convoluted, when the laws approach some 3000 pages in length and even the individuals passing them don’t know what the hell they say (Pelosi: “We have to pass Obamacare to find out what’s in it”)…then, ignorance of the law is an excuse.
Lawmaking, especially at the federal level, has spun out of control. There are so many laws on the books these days that no single individual, including all the lawmakers themselves, could possibly name them all or tell you for sure what they all are or when you might be breaking one of them.
It.Is.Insane.
Which might be Holder’s chief and only line of defense.
(snort)
Eric Holder has at least one other defense: Eric Holder is part of the DNC’s plan to steal the next election. And Obama can pardon whomever he pleases.
Wouldn’t the law actually be more than 3000 pages, with all its references to other laws, tables, charts, etc? You probably couldn’t get through a paragraph without having to reference some other text. Ignorance is built in.
Not only is such a law impossible for the common folk to understand. The problem is that will a law that complex and large it gives those in power ultimate flexibility in how to screw over those they don’t like.
It wasn’t meant for us to read or understand. If we heard Queen Pelosi right…
They tried to pull the wool over our eyes, but thank God people are reading, and interpreting it properly for us to understand.
Forget the citizens, they’re on the back end of the deal.
Already the Health Care providers are in a firestorm of regulatory changes flooding their systems and procedures. They hardly are able to read and comprehend one blast, before, WHAM, another blast hits them, and most have unreasonable periods to implement. There are Advisory Boards that are supposed to meet quarterly that are meeting bi-weekly trying to slow the blasts.
But, the regulators could care less. We know them, and none have worked in the private sector and are only experts in writing complex federal regulations with no comprehension of their impact. Welcome to the world of socialism.
I got an email today. My employer is calling a company-wide meeting next Tuesday. The subject of the meeting is health insurance. I wonder what will happen to my employer-subsidized Blue Cross Blue Shield coverage.
“The IPAB would be charged with keeping future Medicare spending below a specified level. The dictates of its 15 unelected members would have the force of law and couldn’t be overruled even by a majority vote in both houses of Congress and the president’s signature.”
Death Panels. This was the very idea that Sarah Palin was ridiculed for many months ago, yet here it is. If Obamacare passes in the Supreme Court, this will be our future. They will tell you what medication you can have, what medical procedures you can have, what access to doctors you can have, and, worse, when you reach a certain age, what medical services can be denied to you. So if you’re about 80 and you need a heart by-pass operation, you’re going to be out of luck because you’re simply not worth it. Or if you need special cancer treatment at age 65, too bad because you’re just too old to be worth saving. This is what is being done in England right now and this is what is going to happen here. How much is a life worth? Well apparently not much to these people. And worse, nobody ever elected any of these killers, nobody ever had a say in what they would be doing, and certainly nobody in the public ever approved of their massive, overreaching powers. THAT is why the election of 2012 is so very important. Even if the Supreme Court overturns part of Obamacare, it is still on the books and MUST BE repealed. If not, like Rasputin, it could come back from the dead an be implemented by the next Democratic Congress.
This is the line in the sand. This is where Americans have to take a stand. Do you want an all-powerful central government to literally have control over your life, or do you at least want to have medical coverage where you have a say on whether or not you live or die? The choice is really up to you, which is why the election of 2012 is the most important one we’ve ever had in this country. Stand up now and throw the Democrats out of office, or watch your life be terminated by a small group of people nobody has ever seen, let alone elected.
Don’t let this happen to you or your family. It may sound trite, but your medical future is literally in your hands next November.
Sad, but when the “slaves” are no longer productive ( paying taxes and fees ) it is time to get rid of them. Obama and the new US.
And so many Americans thought Obamacare was a great idea. Ignorance is bliss.
“…nobody in the public ever approved of their massive, overreaching powers.”
Except the fruit loop left. Those people who see nothing but problems and rather than resort to a free-thinking, free-will of the free market kind of solution, they prefer to have it handled by someone who they think will “fix everything” so it’s all “fair” and “equal” without any regard to the possible downside of what such a mental process can bring.
It’s all part of the mental laziness that has propagated since at least the 1960′s.
MarlnLevin had a neurosurgeon call in about a meeting his group of doctors had with
The government group and basically was told if their 70 or over just give them comfort care only.
Also referred o the person as a unit not even a human being.
This bill has to be stopped
Every modern country has decent social medicine. If I lived in the states with my illnesses I would be dead. And this is little Israel. Social medicine is a right, like air and water. All you care about is the American dream – which has been long buried.
In order for you to get medical services, somebody else has to provide them. So it is not like air and water.
What makes you think you have the right to the labor or property of someone else?
Doctors, nurses, hospitals, drugs and medical equipment…
All government can do to provide you with this “right” is to forcibly take from someone else at the point of a gun.
If it’s working great in Israel, then keep it there. We do not want this here. We are not government subjects.
Dear Mr Omar,
We are living the the 21st century. Those can pay taxes – pay. Those who can pay a lot of taxes should pay. Not for all – for you. For your roads YOU use. For jails YOU lock away dangers to YOU.- for police to look after YOU. And yes for hospitals and doctors when you need them. You CANNOT be sure your kids can be protected by your wealth when you are gone.
My brother was a surgeon in NY my sister in law also a specialist. They put their earnings into the most secure pension scheme. They were almost wiped out (it was as if they worked for 40 years as slaves curing people.) His one child suffers from Bi-Polar – He could get no insurance for her anywhere. Last time they were hysterically trying somehow to build a fund for her.
I on the other hand suffer from PTSD and other stuff and I am taken care of in every possible way – I use about 2000 dollars of meds a month – I pay about 150 dollars. My six ops – 0. (The IDF also pays to fix my head but this is another story). Diabetes – 0. Specialists – 0 etc etc
And we have mainly Jewish doctors – the best!
Give me a break. Which country wins on health!!
Thanks for ringing the bigot bell as well here, Shame.
You fail to understand our Constitution where it allows free Americans the right to provide for themselves and yes, to FAIL at same. It was never the intent to have the government, at the expense of all others to provide medical care to those who hadn’t enough gumption to take care of themselves.
At the root of the costs of medical care is the government itself, in part by prohibiting interstate commerce of healthcare insurance providers thereby hampering the free market and competition.
And no, you can’t be sure your kids are protect by YOUR wealth when you are gone and in what universe should that be a guarantee anyway? One takes care to teach and educate one’s own children how to fend for themselves, not provide for them for all eternity. You have some pretty heavy socialist ideas that most Americans don’t care for.
You also say those people who can, pay taxes, if I understand you correctly but the truth is between 47 to 51% of American citizens DO NOT pay taxes and expect the rest of us to provide for them. Why is that, do you think? Would the government’s own desire to have a dependent state have anything to do with it? Even by your own estimation I would assume that you somehow find this “unfair”. I work for a living…yet I stand behind people on a regular basis at Walmart getting hundreds of dollars worth of food with their food stamps while chatting on their iPhone, wearing designer clothing..and in one case I even noticed they were driving a fairly new Cadillac. I can’t afford an iPhone…wouldn’t want a Cadillac but I certainly can’t afford one anyway, and I wear off-the-rack at from…Le Tarjay (Target budget store) or Walmart. The most expensive clothing I own are my Wrangler jeans that I wear to do heavy work in because they hold up and don’t get destroyed.
You have some very unusual ideas to present at such a blog s this. But perhaps not so unusual for a die-hard leftist who thinks it’s the government’s job to provide cradle-to-grave ease-of-life.
By removing the right to fail, all a country will have is a bunch of failures for citizens.
I cant work as I was screwed up in battle – what would you good hearted capitalists in America do – throw me like a beaten dead war horse into the gutter. For the life of God – pay your taxes. Give me social welfare and Obamacare anytime.
With all that is wrong here – we all take care of the other. That is why Israel is so strong and America is… well, where America is.
I have a prophecy for Mr Shame. The day will come, and it may be soon, when the only living Jews will be in America. 6 million Jews in Israel vs 180 million Arab Muslims in surrounding nations — Egypt, Syria, Lebanon. I don’t like the odds. Time for Jews to abandon Israel and move to America, where they will find safe havens, before it’s too late.
I on the other hand suffer from PTSD and other stuff and I am taken care of in every possible way
You receive medical care as part of your contract with the U.S. Military, not as a social right. Not all military members receive this care, only those that either retire from the service or are wounded in action. This is only possible because: A) there are relatively few military members requiring medical care relative to the size of the population, and b) military pay is so low (compared to comparable work outside of the military).
There are some very considerable problems with trying to provide even this level of care for the entire population. First of all, of course, is the cost. it is simply impossible, even if we somehow managed to keep this care to the bare essentials. (Even with vets, they usually have to purchase augmentation insurance). Keeping the care at this level is, of course, politically impossible; people are always trying to burden Medicare and Medicaid with things like sex-change operations and birth control costs.
Secondly, there is the question of how much control we want to give the Federal Government over our lives. Every place that has government-controlled single-payer health care (including U.S. military care) cost always takes precedence over patient care. With private insurance, they must live up to the signed insurance contract, and you can always pay the doctors yourself if insurance won’t cover it (on the installment plan if necessary). This is not an option with government-run health insurance.
So when Obamacare bankrupts the United States and we are confiscating all the monies of the rich to pay our interest who will provide Israel with the billions of dollars in foreign aide and donations from the religious right and jewish community here? Without the aide and donations, the Israeli Government will have to come up with the monies that support your defense forces, and provide on it’s own for it’s poor. You are benefitting from the labors of the American people and you don’t even know it. See what happens to your healthcare when we stop sending you our money.
Now I know what our $3 billion+ that the USA sends to Israel pays for. If your country wasn’t getting this foreign aid, Israel would have to turn the cancer-striken oldsters who have outlived their usefulness into suicide bombers, and send them after the Arabs.
It would seem that Shame is a Jewish National Socialist…along the lines of Soros, I guess.
A “JeNazi”.
Isn’t irony ironic?
On the other hand – how wonderful it would be to have our defense privately insured and have cheap imported soldiers (maybe from China!)
We don’t need cheap imported soldiers. Obviously, you’ve never seen an American soldier’s paycheck.
Oh Eva,
Our soldiers paycheck is life for themselves and for all of us. So many times they get kaddish instead.
And yet on the *other* hand it would perhaps be nice of Israel to pay, entirely, for it’s own defence.
Then we’d see how long Israel would have the wonderful socialist healthcare system for.
Apart for 15% we do! 15% has to spent in the states. We provide the states with amazing technology incld Drones whic we developed. ‘Raincoat’ and a gamut of other stuff. I believe the 15% is the best investment America has ever made AND STOP ISRAEL BASHING.
STOP America bashing! You are a typical socialist, can’t stand a little criticism, and oh so hypocritical. I fear for Israel if you are any example.
Did you know that the USA has something called the Veteran’s Administration that helps take care of its soldiers? It would be good to learn about something before you criticize it.
I’m an American Jew and consider myself to be very pro Israel and I have to say I find your attitude toward this country perplexing.
Imposition of “healthcare” in a tiny state like Israel is a wildly different proposition than in a country with a population around 310 million with 50 separate states.
If you would be dead if you lived in the states, how is it that so many individuals come to the United States for treatments and a level of care they can’t receive elsewhere ? There was a story just yesterday on the news of a Norwegian man who desperately needed a procedure that socialized Norway refused to fund, and monies were raised on Facebook to enable him to come to the US and get the operation here.
Many of the “modern countries” you favor over the US, notably Canada and Britain, are up to their ears in healthcare funding fiascos that they cannot adequately fund through the state. Canadians that can afford to seek treatment in the United States.
I don’t know about your facts – what I do know that anyone uses Americas medical services comes home bankrupt.
I do know that our doctors treat African kids brought to Israel for free. I do know our doctors were the first into Haiti. Our doctors set up camps outside Sudan in Chad.
Arabs from the most Israel hating countries are treated here as are Palestinians from Gaza (often shot by us).
I once went to a private hospital here – the public one (Ichilov TA ) was twice better in all ways (except for having no internet – which being mainly semi- conscious didn’t bother me)
Well, my facts are facts.
And it seems to me that if anyone from Israel who gets treatment in the United States comes home bankrupt (your claim), that no one from Israel would be seeking treatment in the United States.
Maybe you should familiarize yourself with some of the extreme rationing and payment dilemmas of countries larger than Israel that have socialized their medical system, like Great Britain and Canada.
You can’t generalize from your own personal experience into some diatribe on “America’s Shame”.
“And it seems to me that if anyone from Israel who gets treatment in the United States comes home bankrupt (your claim), that no one from Israel would be seeking treatment in the United States.”
What he won’t admit is if you get treatment in the US you actually COME HOME…which is why people make the choice in the 1st place. They want to stay alive.
To wit above, Shame says “And we have mainly Jewish doctors – the best!”
Besides being a totally bigoted remark, he shoots down his own argument by admitting that fellow Israelis come to the US for medical care.
Plus, he goes on about how much meds he takes every month for “free”. Yet…SOMEone has to pay for it. Collectively, through taxes. If he doesn’t work at all, then he’s a bleeding cyst on the “free” medical system.
Sorry, shame, but what you are saying isn’t quiet correct. Most of those “free” operations are not free. The doctor may donate their time, btw most American doctors do so also, but the rest gets paid for generally by donations from caring people. I know because I as have a myriad of others have spent our own money to see that some of those operations take place.
So what is your solution – kill off the poor? I guess that would create a fairer country. I hope the best for your family to pay for their health and lead full lives.
Most modern countries that have socialized medicine do not have a pop. of 320 million.
you didn’t do so good in maths in school
Just a short warning from the Holy Land. If your rich get any more rich and fewer, and your poor get poorer and more – you are, without doubt going to get a revolution – and from the outside it seems closer than ever. Wealth is not only measured by money but well being ie health
If you were in a battle- were you a soldier? There is a network of veterans hospitals in America. There are also veteran old age homes. There are groups of people that make care baskets, or donate money or supplies, or visit. Veterans are not thrown away. There has been exactly one shameful decade where soldiers were sneered at- during the late sixties and early seventies. That’s it. It was a national disgrace.
Right now- my father has about half a dozen life-threatening conditions, and he’s cared for by military veteran doctors. He’s lived longer than any other patient. He gets, free of charge, an experimental medicine. Each shot costs north of $1,000- he gets it each and every month.
Israel has a fairly homogenous, unified population with a small geographic footprint. That’s the sort of population that can, collectively, collectivize a section of the economy. America is not homogenous, and not small geographically.
And- it has a de facto open borders policy. My former neighbor had her house cleaned, and repaired, by illegal immigrants she steered through the hospital. Not- she sent them home to whatever country they came from- but, she obtained care for them- and helped them register their new, born on American soil, infant- she’d then steer them through getting government housing, and education, and food.
I don’t think any American objects to supporting our soldiers. I think every American objects to supporting the entire Illegal Immigrant Complex. and, well, women who were foolish enough to have children out of wedlock. and, gang-bangers, who need such complex surgeries after they shoot one another over foolish slights to their pride.
What a typical Socialist you are Shame. Willing to spend spend spend until you run out of OTHER peoples money.
man you got believing you are who you say you are.
good job, usually a lot harder to fool people here.
So you have a right to have someone else pay for your healthcare? Just because you breathe? Not in this country. We believe folks should actually pay for the stuff they receive, including healthcare, or ask for it as charity. They don’t have a “right” to take money from other people.
That chart you link should scare the bejesus out of anyone
That macabre infrastructure is what Kathleen Sebelius’ minions are building, night and day, as we speak.
De Tocqueville certainly knew what he was talking about.
How many of those new agencies and “grant plans” are going to discriminate based on race or gender?
If they follow Zeke Emanuel’s (Rahm’s brother) plan, your doctor will be calling up some IPAB bureaucrat in Washington DC to be told where you fall on Zeke’s QALY schedule in terms of how much and what kind of treatment said doctor is allowed to give you.
Dr. Zeke dreamed up this bureaucrat’s wet dream of Quality Adjusted Life Years which, as I vaguely recall, if you’re younger or older than about 40, your allowable treatment protocols are rather limited.
And a lot of other bureaucratic gibberish.
From what I’ve read, treatment options begin narrowing when one hits forty. This is the age when men start to become vulnerable to heart attacks.
Most white men wait until their later twenties to marry. They wait at least two years to have a child. Then they have at least two children, within a stable marriage- the sort of children who reasonably aspire to college. Their father, at 50, has a heart attack- right when they head off to college. If he receives treatment- their lives continue on in an upwardly mobile fashion. CEO’s tend to be in their sixties.
David Landes posits that one technology shift- eyeglasses- helped to double a master craftsman’s working life- he could see the fine details of his engravings or wireworks or weavings- past the time his eyes began their middle-aged fading.
Cutting off white-collar lives at their midway point, when they are at mastery levels, and then blighting the prospects of their children——is economic foolishness, and evil of the highest order. It is also so outside the mainstream of the Western tradition of work, innovation and improving life through technological extravagance, that I wonder why anyone entertains it as a notion.
Westerners- have both clock-towers in their towns, and pocket-watches. We all have eye-glasses, at all price-points. We have magazines for health advice. We have–HAD- raging medical innovations- delivery, research, everything.
I wish he’d go back to the third=world dictator-riven hellholes he crawled out of. and take his fellow-travellers with him.
I am “anonymous” above
Anyway, it seems to me that under Obamacare, age and stage in life will be larger deciding factors than race and gender.
Obama is the guy who, after all, told a woman that her 80 something mother should just take a pain pill (!) for arrhythmia rather than go to the excess waste of a pacemaker.
He’s also the guy who made highly false claims about his own mother’s insurance (he claimed she didn’t get coverage, when she in fact had coverage for her battle with uterine cancer) and other claims about surgeons yanking out tonsils and lopping off limbs for profit.
(over and out)
And Mr Obama seems to be living in a bubble of his own making with such a remark. I sincerely hope that when he turns “senior citizen” and his emphysema is giving him fits (all those years of KOOL menthols) that someone in the death panel will decide he just needs an aspirin instead of some complicated and expensive medical treatment.
Also, say bye-bye to any medical advances for a long time to come. There just won’t be the money or incentive to do any medical research. But, I guess the left figures that since the invention of Viagra, thus allowing them to screw anyone, anytime at will, no further development in medicine is needed.
I don’t disagree with you, but I was thinking less of Zeke’s algorithm* and more of the racial quotas for medical school admissions and programs that give grants based on race.
*I still expect race, or at least ZIP code as a proxy–will be part of the algorithm in the early stages; if they start killing off black urban pre-term Medicaid babies (and the grandmothers who’d have to raise them if they had lived) at the same rate as white middle-class pre-term babies (and grandmothers), they’re gonna lose their base. Obama and Co are morally bankrupt, but they’re clever.
Obama is the largest recipient of Planned Parenthood funds, ever. Sebelius clawed her way to power with bags of money from George Tiller- the third-trimester abortionist. Maafa 21 is a heartbreaking documentary covering what the entire abortion industry has already done to the black population, and what it intends to continue to do.
I don’t think O’s base is black. If it is, he’s more stupid than I thought. Black women in New York already kill 60% of their unborn children. He hasn’t once mentioned that maybe, just maybe, choose life might be a good idea.
Obama’s base has seven pillars. (1)The racial minorities (2)The working poor (which overlaps with #1) (3)Upper middle class and rich liberals (overlaps with #6) (4)Trial lawyers (5)Wall Street and Banksters (for now) (6)Unions, and especially government and healthcare unions, and (7)Enviro-wackos (which overlaps with #3 and #5).
ObamaCare is designed to benefit mostly #1, #2, and #6.
The only reason he is likely to be reelected is that #1 and #2 have grown so much with the influx of Hispanics, and #3-#7 make such large contributions to his campaign.
I doubt Obamacare is set up to discriminate against anyone but the eldery.
The plan improves the scope of care to low income/illegals/medicaid recipients by decreasing the care on working people and medicare recipients. It funds the replacement of medicaid standards by adding a tax to premiums.
We currently pay for organ transplants, open heart surgery, cancer treatment etc for millions of illegals,3rd generations welfare breeders and convicted murderers in prison.
Soon they will receive improved healthcare while ours deteriorates, our costs increase and we get new taxes. You will be able to insure your child until the age of 26 because they won’t be able to afford insurance.Best of all if you don’t buy insurance you can be fined.
Why bother working to pay for insurance premiums for reduced care and improved care for millions upon millions of non tax payers, illegals and serial killers ?
Too funny if it weren’t so scary–and sooooooo typically Fed Govt. Forget the Greek columns, they should display this in back of Obama every time he makes any sort of speech or appearance.
Hilarious chart, thanks for that.
But after five or more decades of an “out of control fractured and expensive” health system, most of the country thought something had to be done. Republicans refused to help fix the system and resorted to fear mongering (death panels and prison for those with private insurance) which got them votes and Congress but America had to pay the price for their decision. Who knows? maybe if “one of theirs” gets elected next year they will try to fix the flawed reform bill that passed a couple of years ago. But then, maybe not.
The takeaway quote: “The dictates of its 15 unelected members would have the force of law and couldn’t be overruled even by a majority vote in both houses of Congress and the president’s signature.”
Perhaps I have misunderstood this sentence. “…the force of law…” Congress made the law the last time I looked. How can they not be permitted to modify what they passed??? This provision comes with the smell of rotting human corpses!
Congress made the law the last time I looked.
You might look again. All kinds of non-legislative bodies, all those commissions, most notably the EPA & the FCC, are making all sorts of regulations and requirements that, it is claimed, have the force of law.
Completely outside the legislative process.
More weakening and compromising of our system of governance.
Wouldn’t it be easier to (and shorter) to simply write an article on what’s right with it? The whole thing stinks on steroids.
There are three characteristics of an ideal health care system: Accessible, Affordable,High Quality. Nobody has figured out how to do better than two out of three, including Obama. Looks like he may get one right at best.
And which one would that be? Healthcare will only be “accessible” to those who are deemed necessary to the workforce. It won’t be “affordable” because the cost of such a system will cripple the nation, as it has in the UK and Canada. And high quality? Already many of the best doctors are quitting the business and what you’ll get instead are less well-educated doctors because the incentive for becoming a doctor will be gone.
The healthcare package is so large and so unwieldy I would seriously doubt anyone has a true ‘handle’ on all of the implications. In other critiques I’ve read, there are also several states that are exempt from the package for one reason (deal) or another. I have been surprised that the issue of the bill not applying equally has was not brought up. I guess its just better to be a citizen of some states versus others now that federal laws don’t apply equally.
I was speaking with the CEO of a hospital. He said, they still have no idea of all the new stressors Obamacare will place on the hospital. What parts they do understand, are driving up costs and cutting services.
This conversation was 3 weeks ago. Darn close to 2014.
If there is a “right” to healthcare, does that mean there is a “right” to food? Does that mean the government ought to nationalize and take ownership of every farm, grocery store, and anything else involved in food production and delivery?
No thanks. I don’t want to see people starving to death.
We have a 2nd amendment here, which actually is supposed to guarantee the right to keep and bear arms….so where is my government subsidized M-16 with my several crates of 5.56 ammo and magazines?
Actually, the 2nd Amendment was rendered entirely moot by the Civil War. It is about as relevant to modern America as the 3rd Amendment.
There is no faster way to doom the health care system than to nationalize it. The onus of one’s health and the responsibility towards that positive goal then becomes the work of politicians, bureaucrats, statisticians, and lobbyists.
Legally, the flagrant unconstitutionality of Obamacare in in the Independent Payment Advisory Board which forbids elimination or amendment of its powers by any future congress and judicial review of any of its decisions.
In the meantime, before the SCOTUS decision on the individual mandate next March, the bureaucratic gears are in place to implement changes towards electronic record keeping as a fiscal stimulus, and the control of Medicare. It has been projected that even if Obamacare was undone in the court, it would take over a year to undo the momentum of the costs of the new regulations.
One good way to find what else is wrong about ObamaCare is to determine who has been excluded or waivered out of parts of it. For example, Congressmen, their families and staff are simply too good to be covered by the same program that covers the riff-raff taxpayers.
This administration is so crooked that there must be whole sections that do not apply to the FoBs (Favored of Barrak).
Reasonable people can disagree as to whether the intent of ACA is to intentionally muck up our health care system so thoroughly that a single-payer plan is the only way out. But whether it’s intentional or not, that’s the long-term effect that it will have. We’ll end up with an NHS, only one that’s 3-4 times the size, markedly less efficient and hugely more expensive as a result.
And the corporate favouritism of the health care system will be sickening. Like the woman who’s the CEO of the largest electronic medical record software firm being on the committee to recommend which EMR will be forced on providers. The ultimate value of that decision is going to make Solyndra look like a casual tip at a diner.
As most people who are covered under various nation health schemes knows, those systems are great for routine and incidental care, but where they scrimp and save is on the big stuff. Plus, when you hit retirement, you become a second-class member of the health system because a) you’re no longer productive, and likely not contributing much any more, and b) because you’re entering the phase of your life in which most of the health care expenses occur.
My mum is English, and had six siblings. Over the course of my lifetime, I’ve watched from afar at how the NHS has cared for my grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins. I’ve watched her brothers and sisters die off, one by one, at the hands of the NHS. My mum, who’s the oldest of the lot by the way, has survived breast cancer and several other potentially life-threatening health concerns and she just turned 90. Of course she moved to the States with my father immediately following the war and has lived here since. About a year and a half ago, my last auntie (the youngest of the group) died from breast cancer after a short battle with the disease.
It was a short battle because the NHS essentially chose not to fight.
You can’t generalise about the NHS like this. There is excellent care to be had; there is also awful ‘care.’ It mostly depends where you live. We have a problem of a massive unlawful immigration into the country, as well as being part of the EU. It therefore means that it is irrelvant as to how much money is actually spent on the NHS. It will never be enough. We also have a ‘postcode’ lottery which means that if you live in a deprived area of the country, then it’s generally likely that the NHS services will also be deprived. Add to this mixture the immense problems to do with drug and alcohol abuse, services that should go to the really unwell, are spent on kids who abuse. Comparing the UK with a population of about 70 million to the USA with over 330 million, it appears highly unlikely that an NHS model could ever possibly work, unless more than 75% taxes go towards it.
Of course some people get good care on NHS – think about it for the briefest moment and you’ll easily deduce that if it were all bad, there would be a revolution against it. In my comments above, I really focused on one aspect of the NHS – their tendency to reduce the level of care effort expended on older people. Among most of the English people I know, this seems to be a fairly well-accepted operating principle.
For example, a couple of years ago I supervised a man who’d emigrated to the US. His mum had a heart attack and when he came to me to tell me he’d be away on compassionate leave for a while, unprompted, he commented that it was important that he fly home to see his mum, because she was in her 70′s and was likely not to get the care which would keep her alive for long. Unfortunately he was right. She was stabilised and discharged to home care in short order, where an opportunistic viral infection killed her within 10 days.
A few years ago, I served as the CHRO for a managed care company situated in the metro Detroit area. We had a contract with the state of Michigan to manage care for Medicaid recipients – public-paid medical insurance for those on welfare. We had about 250,000 Medicaid subscribers, so we were not a small company. At one point, the state Medical Services Administration, the agency which oversaw Medicaid, told all of its contractors that those who didn’t have commercial insurance offerings as well needed to develop them and be active in the commercial health insurance marketplace. Our company had been founded solely to work in the Medicaid arena, but we complied. What we found as we sold our commercial managed care plans was that we had a lot of individual sales from people who lived in Windsor and worked in the US. Almost universally, they saw being able to obtain care in the US as a great benefit to working in the US. I had heard many Canadian friends tell me over the years that there were problems with Health Canada, but I didn’t really understand the scope of those problems until we started selling those individual plans like hotcakes. People were willing to pay a premium so that they could see a doctor in less than a day’s wait. They were delighted to have access to specialists on demand.
Lest you think that I’m just a super-fan of the US system, let me disabuse you of that notion. I’ve worked in the health care sector since the early 1970′s and have a very keen appreciation for it’s shortcomings. The real shame of the ACA law is that we really do need reforms to our system – but ACA was all wrong in the way it goes about ‘reforming’. By and large, the legislation was a social engineering effort by one party, not a well-intentioned effort to rectify the very real problems with American health care.
What my fellow commenters must remember…when you are being boiled in the coup stew, it’s really not at all about you.
Look at what the folks at the Midwest Academy and Cooper Union actually have said they wanted to do to the free market….THEN…and only then…come back and look at what Obamasnare really is…and isn’t.
There never was an intent to “compete” for one sixth of our free market economy.
The Citizen/Labor Energy Coalition (think ACORN/SEIU) tried this same overthrow capitalism trick, led by Jan Schakowsky, the one time activist for Democratic Socialists of America. It planted a “competitor” into the energy sector…with the intent of killing the competition and overthrowing capitalism.
Obamasnare is based upon the same concept and has the same Midwest Academy goals.
The Midwest Academy’s “Citizen Action and the New Populism” outlines how to seize all the key industries, destroy the free market and impose Marxism.
And…to disguise ALL of it…as “centrist Democratic Party do-gooderism”. The small c communists were enraged when the “slow cook ‘em, don’t scare ‘em” Obama agreed to remove the public option, single payer death knell to liberty from Obamasnare.
Tom Harkin told the rabid left that sometimes you build the house with the intention of building all the additions later.
The length and complexity was a feature, not a bug. It eliminated any clear argument and debate…and was “rushed” through, before anyone could point out the accounting fraud necessary to suggest that it “saved” money or made an ounce of fiscal sense.
It doesn’t.
It is intended to assist the overthrow of the free market. AND…has the added benefit of “attritioning out” the elderly, white, rock-ribbed Republican voting generation through killing them softly with his song. Obamasnare got a two-fer out of this legislation.
Bill Ayers gets to wipe out the people he wanted to kill off or put in re-education camps. And…they got to seize one sixth of the economy and kill the free market …now…on to energy killing, auto killing, banking and finance killing, …and raping the job creators out of their wealth!
Using the warming hoax is simply a way to kill energy and the free market. Using the tax code to crush the job creators is more of the same. Using the Workers Party and their apparatchiks at the NLRB to kill manufacturing is more of the same.
You are in the middle of a coup. And you don’t matter a Tinker’s Dam.
The reason Obamasnare is not limited to health care snare…is because the small c communists don’t care about your health. Why do you think they were giddy to tank Medicare and Medicade…and trade off gutting half the military with the Stupor Committee?
The get to blame the Republicans…the Stupid Party…for not doing a deal…that the small c communists NEVER intended to do in the first place.
The Occupy Movement is a sham. It’s a head fake. It’s a pretend “left of Obamasnare” movement to make him look like he is being “attacked” from the left. He isn’t. You can’t get to the left of an overthrow architect.
Obamasnare has all of you in the net already. To get out…quit struggling against the wrong things.
Figure out what the Midwest Academy and Cooper Union have been plotting for decades. It’s the only way to understand the overthrow. We are in the middle of a coup. It has already started. Obamasnare is not just about one industry.
Perfectly stated.
yes.
Obamacare is just one front in the war that has been going on for decades without you realizing it.
Accept serfdom peacefully or by violence. It’s your choice.
Surely you’re not the only sharp knife in the drawer, CFB. Others who are in positions of power out there are onto this as well. Why is there a paucity of effort out there to do something about all of this?
Collectivism, overthrow, revolution, rebellion, state dependency, communistry organizing…all need mob action.
Rugged individualism, self-reliance, self-determination, pulling oneself up by one’s bootstraps…does not seek nor need mob approval or acceptance.
Liberty is a personal thing, totalitarianism requires mob rule.
When we finally…bobbcat…finally…discover that I must defend your liberty and you must defend mine, we will rise up jointly, shoulder to shoulder to throw off the tyranny of despotic leftism.
Until then, we will watch the slow erosion of our freedoms fall to the small c communists and their hidden plans to overthrow the free market. Aided, abetted and in conspiracy with our traitorous media empire, pop culture entertainment and our indoctrination machine academia.
That drawer of sharp knives has been hermetically sealed by peer pressure. It has been dulled by the threats of slander and reputation smearing, blacklisting and vicious personal attack.
We have been quieted, (although not completely silenced) by the Big Lie of leftism. For the most part…we are content to merely point at the propaganda, the seizures, the overthrow. We have not unsheathed our swords to save this land of ours from the assault. We ride on, saying that the Leftists Are Coming, the Leftists are coming.
But the Stupid Party makes for horrible message carriers. They fumble, stumble and bumble, pratfalling and freezing in the limelight.
We are leaderless. We need a hero and we get stumblebums.
Ezra Klein has proven that the propaganda machine has shed the mask. The revolution is on. And all the sharp knives are sheathed and buried beneath the corruption, rust and confusion. It’s a sad day coming, bobbcat.
We have to speak the truth plainly. We are in the middle of an overthrow. Who do you see to lead us from a position of strength, honor and intelligence to save our free market?
Ryan/Rubio in a brokered convention, is MY last best hope. Otherwise…we are in deep, deep trouble.
I was thinking Ryan/Rubio too. Also Jeb Bush. But he’s a Bush, not a good thing.
I am terribly aggravated by the rampant ignorance, complacency & denial. The thought that we are being conquered from within is just too much for most people to handle as a reality. But I remember as far back as the mid-60′s, as a child, worrying about what is now known as “small c” communism eating our country up from the inside out.
There’s an escape hatch written within the Constitution and ratified by the Declaration of Independence. Secession. When the fit hits the shan I’m predicting that there will not be 50 stars on Old Glory.
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated…” United States Constitution Amendment IV.
The Federal government is mandating, amoung other things, that we turn over confidential, highly personal, healthcare information to federal authority. An individual may have a proprietary reason for not wanting the government to know of such information. The patient-physician privledge would be compromised, but more importantly, I can not see how the government overcomes the 4th Amendment prohibitions. This is yet another aspect of Obama care that I have heard precious little about in discussion. It needs to be examined carefully. I think any compelling state interest claim is specious.
Samizdat: You have ahold of a brazen brass ring topic. In the first stimulus, the electronic health care records were mandated. There was some little talk of increasing employment, stimulating the economy, and making the health care system more efficient. Every hospital and clinic in the country, including veterinarians had to buy more hard and software, hire technicians and data clerks. The records of everyone in the USA had to run through a certified program and be available to you-know-who. I was told that our state level that only 6 persons had access to that confidential information.
Do you believe that only 6 people can keep a secret?
Without having to know the final security regulation of the final bureaucrat, the doctor-patient contract, which is protected by civil rights and privacy laws, becomes exchanged for medical reimbursement. That is, every doctor is being contracted into violating those rights and that privilege. The laws fail and good medicine fails.
thanks for writing this Mr Anderson.
Bad as the individual mandate is, it isn’t the worst thing about the monstrosity.
The worst thing is more government control over our lives, or stated another way, less freedom in the aspect of our lives where it is most important.
Even if the monstrosity was 100% legal, it would still be tragically flawed from concept through all of the details. It really is a war on freedom.
cfbleachers – When you say, “The Occupy Movement is a sham. It’s a head fake. It’s a pretend “left of Obamasnare” movement to make him look like he is being “attacked” from the left. He isn’t. You can’t get to the left of an overthrow architect,” I have to disagree.
In empty warehouses and union halls all across the country, Obama’s brown shirts (SEIU, Teamsters, ACORNers, Code Pinkers, etc.) are being secretly trained how to effectively oppose police. The Occupy Movement, TODAY, is simply the the cover for tomorrow’s hard rioters. The lefties will claim that it has evolved.
Think the police pepper spraying the useful idiots at UC-Davis. Visualize a phalanx of anarchists and SEIU thugs armed with shields and riot batons charging back and beating the cops, allowing another phalanx to attack and seize whatever the prime target was. These riots will occur before the election and allow the Kenyan to claim that he is the only one who can restore peace and tranquility.
Maybe, NCB…but, I don’t think so.
The newsletter for this movement is put together by two Communists. Zombie has taken pictures of the Communist infiltration and control.
This is all orchestrated, …it has ALL the earmarks of a communistry organized event.
Based upon the Midwest Academy history and playbook…the “movement” is designed to confuse the eye and ear of the masses.
The reason that nobody is “leading”…is because somebody is leading behind the scenes. The reason that they are not marching on the White House…yet, “occasionally” heckle Obama…is part of the head fake.
Obama did this with UNO, he did this against the banks, …it’s all in the playbook.
He personally stays above the fray…but, gives the “movement” credibility and moral support…while taking the rare “hit” himself. It’s a phony, set up, canard.
“I’m not one of them, they dislike me too…but I feel their pain and agree with what they are saying is wrong”.
It’s a sham. A con. “The people” want an overthrow? They want to destroy the free market? Kill capitalism?
The Midwest Academy and the Cooper Union folks have been spoiling for this for decades. Obamasnare is their vehicle. The OWS movement is a head fake.
One month and 7 days from now, any doctor treating a Medicare patient will have to agree to a 20% fee reduction. Already, doctors’ offices have managed to cover their Medicare losses due to doing lab tests. That will no longer be allowed. Most people don’t realize it, but under Medicare, the patient is not allowed to make up the difference between a doctor’s fees and what Medicare pays, and no insurance policy covers people over 65 without Medicare being the primary insurance. You are not allowed to accept social security payments without being in Medicare. It is all that Malthus could have dreamed of, and considering John Holdren’s and Paul Erlich’s ideology, all that the population control people have wanted ever since they managed abortion legislation 40 years ago. Holdren is our national science advisor. This isn’t our grandparents’ country anymore.
I am always amused by the seemingly benign posturings of digusting socialists like Berwick. Don’t be fooled by him. He’s an advocate of health care rationing which is why Obama appointed him in the first place. He’s an advocate of the government determining how much and what quality of care you will receive. He stated in Biotechnology Healthcare in 2009: “society makes decisions about rationing all the time,“ and that the ”decision is not whether or not we will ration care — the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open, and right now, we are doing it blindly.”
He advocates policy-connected models for the evaluation of medical treatments. In other words a government bureaucrat determines how much and what health care you get. Good riddance to Berwick is just another one of Obama’s peeps.
The United States spends twice as much per person on healthcare (~$7500)than the next most in-efficient country (~$3500).
Health care costs MUST and WILL come down either by free market reforms – full user pays healthcare with disaster (car crash, cancer, serious injury) insurance coverage at FULL market rates or economic collapse forced rationing – if your old or sick get well soon or pray, you’ll be seeing God very soon. Failed states don’t have much in the way of healthcare.
YOUR FIGURE IS RIGHT if you average out all money spent – but you know as well as I NONE get to ones who really need it. Israel has the 5th highest-longevity in the world (Japan – 1. America not on the list I saw). I wonder why??
Fear not. Social welfare is the only system that works.
I spend 35 years in Socialist countries with “free” medical care. Free is free.
Nothing is free “American’s Shame”. BTW: most likely your “free” socialized medical care is paid by US taxpayers.
The most fundamental right is Freedom to Choose. My friend, who works at a nursing facility just told me that a new regulation was just published for nursing facilities “Not to spend on people after 65, just make them comfortable”, this is just slightly better than in Nazi camps.
2012 is a definetely a line in the sand. If amarican people choose Obama, this is the end of the “free world” and 1984 will start in 2012.
Its NOTHING like Nazi camps.
Dont insult us
Israel
Sorry to disappoint you, but we are one of the few countries surviving your Bush’s recession. We are STILL given about 15% of our defense budget – even this is to end in a few years and defense is obviously a huge part of our budget but still under 20%. I have heard this Israel bashing from the American left and right. In 48 the USA boycotted us. We stole old ww2 planes from junk yards and were given WW1 rifles from Romania. Now we are now a member of the OCED. We have trouble with our BB – in the USA he would probably be a teapartiest. We also have problems with our neighbors and atomic bombs.
MUST tell something – off subject.
In 48 we did have some Piper cubs. The Pilot would switch off the engine, open the door and shout orders to the guys on the ground. No connection with above – sorry
Shame, I have a sense that you’re the victim of some pernicious propaganda about the health care system in the U.S. The vast majority of us have enjoyed the best health care in the world. Even those of us who can’t pay are treated at hospitals. Some of the primary causes of the high cost here have been government intervention in the forms of market interference, having employers provide insurance (thanks to Roosevelt’s wage controls, and using insurance as a payment plan for routine health care. You may be happy with your care in Israel, and good for you. But you really don’t know the real story about healthcare in America. Socialism never works as well as market capitalism as has been proven over and over again. Never has, never will. Regardless of what you believe. You just don’t know any other way.
We also get Fox here. Its like the old Pravda – and u guys all believe it blindly.
Sorry – I promised myself to hold my horses – but reading this page I sometimes just go pow
You’re living in Israel, Mr Shame? Please find a way to emigrate to America’s shores before it’s too late. Just one Iranian nuke and Israel will be no more.
many of us immediately knew how bad it was when the lawmakers exempted themselves from it.
that alone, in a just world, would nullify it.
Many are missing another unintended consequence. There will be far fewer part time jobs. The retail industry, from dining to stores and beyond makes significant use of part time employees. The law requires healthcare to be offered to all employess who earn above a low minimum amount. The cost of annual healthcare premium to be paid by the employer is above $10K already. Employers using four part time employees working sixteen hours a week each will save considerably by using two full time employees working 12 hours a week of overtime – two less employees to cover. The employer has two options: consolidate and eliminate part time jobs or drop all coverage currently available to full time employees and just pay the additional payroll tax. This latter choice will save the typical employer $5-7K per year and is the reason the article is correct that millions will lose their employer paid program. The financial arrangements are inherently going to drive employers to drop their company health plans and we will have a single payer system much sooner than anyone thinks.
“…we will have a single payer system much sooner than anyone thinks.”
Such is their agenda. It was too politically risky to go for the single-payer system outright. So the next best thing, in their minds, is to get there by default, so to speak. This is why it is of the essence that Obamacare be repealed.
Man you right wing nuts are a bunch of losers. Get over it already. Obamacare passed two years ago.
BRENT… you may like soicalist medicine, rationed care, but as you see most of us DO NOT.
The Supremes will decide.
And I can hardly wait!
Down with Obamacare.
It will take another election like the 2010 “shellacing” to get a veto-proof and filibuster-proof House and Senate Republican majorities to repeal Obama-Care. In the meantime, the States are resisting as best they can with waivers and lawsuits. It may all come down to just one man: Justice Stevens.
Medicare (Advantage) has already been raided to the tune of $400 billion. the money is to be used to fund the state insurance exchanges and it federal counterpart.
The Medicare doctors reimbursement extension expires on 12/31 and will cost about $2590 billion for next year if renewed.
IPAB….. first I heard of this one. So, they will not be able to be overiden even by a majority in Congress…. Wow… something we need to think about.
Well, we’ll just have to wait for the Supremes to weigh in. In the meantime, here’s how I got screwed by Obamacare. Here is what Obama’s health-care reform law has done to me. Not FOR me; TO me.
BEFORE Obamacare, that is up until December 31, 2010, the family deductible for my company-paid medical coverage was $300…and it had been $300 for years.
AFTER Obamacare, that is on January 1, 2011, the family deductible for my company-paid medical coverage went up to $2,800. You can do the math. And because my company is self-insured, it was a take it or leave it situation.
Obama LIED when he said that if I liked the plan I currently had, I’d be able to keep it. He was WRONG. Instead, my company canceled the plan I liked and in its place substituted the aforementioned high-deductible plan.
Obama LIED when he said his plan would “bend the cost curve downward.” What he really meant was: “Bend over and face downward.”
Thanks, Obama!
The main thing wrong with Obamacare, besides the factors mentioned above, is the fact that it does nothing about the 800 pound gorilla in the health care system, Big Pharma. I am a Stage Four cancer patient who would be dead right now if I had insurance and followed the advice of oncologists and the conventional treatment programs for my disease. Chemo has a 2.5% success rate among all cancers. Radiation and surgery are not more better except for a handful of cancer types. Alternative treatments, which are forbidden within our corrupt system, have between 50%- 80% success rates. The key to surviving cancer in the is ignoring the advice of insurance-covered doctors and moving outside the system to doctors who have followed their heart and adopt strategies which work but do not enrich the Pharma/AMA/FDA cabal. MSM which is heavily funded by ad dollars from Big Pharma is complicit in spreading the lie that we are “winning the War on Cancer”. Nothing could be further from the truth. In actuality over two dozen alternative treatments, if they were allowed to be studied and combined in novel ways could cure most cancers, even late stage illness. The folly of Obamacare providing more access to useless, deadly treatments is made worse when this madness is paid for by our tax dollars. The individual mandate makes an incompetent program evil. I will fight it to the death and have no intention of accepting the provisions of the plan. What’s more the FDA is currently considering passing regulations which would curtail the sale of many supplements which are currently keeping me alive. If this takes place the US government will have become my mortal enemy and not paying federal income taxes will be just the beginning of the fight.
Needless to say I will not be voting for the moron in the White House. The Republicans could run a brain-dead chimp and they would still get my vote.
Could you provide more detailed info on these alternate treatment mdalities (web addresses, books, etc.)?
The major reason chemo doesn’t work too well is because it attacks the one system in the body that fights cancer naturally: the immune system. Cancer treatment, for the most part, is a huge money-making racket.
This article is a bunch of right-wing talking points, largely debunked by the fact-checker sites.
PJ Media is a right wing site so your going to read right wing talking points. ObamaCare will be repealed soon after the Mandate Penalty Tax appears on line 59 of your Form 1040.
