West’s Complacency Will Bring About Its Demise (PJM Exclusive)
Last week, Behzad Soltani — deputy head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization — announced that Iran will join the world nuclear club within a month. He further claimed that:
No country would even think about attacking Iran after Iran’s membership in the club.
Iran’s leaders continue to defy the international community’s demands to stop uranium enrichment activity, and are in fact enriching more aggressively than ever before. While heads of state around the globe debate even more sanctions against Iran — none of which have worked in the past — Iran’s clerics speed toward becoming one of the most dangerous regimes on the planet.
They continue to enrich uranium at the Natanz facility (which currently has enough enriched uranium stockpiled for one nuclear bomb), while producing new centrifuges that can enrich uranium six times faster. They are increasing yellowcake production at the Gchine uranium mine. The mine currently has a design capacity of 21 tons of yellowcake per year, about half as much as is needed to produce the 55 pounds of 93% enriched uranium for a nuclear bomb.
They have a nuclear fuel facility in Isfahan capable of producing 10 tons of nuclear fuel annually, and sufficient plutonium for two nuclear weapons a year.
The Arak heavy water plant — built in violation of the nonproliferation treaty — is near its completion, though the West assumed this would not happen until 2015. This facility will be capable of producing significant amounts of bomb-grade plutonium.
As will the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which is set to go live with the help of Russia this coming summer.
At the same time, the Revolutionary Guards are making significant progress with the country’s missile delivery system, concealing their efforts within the space project they have embarked upon with North Korea. The Shahab-3 missile is capable of carrying a nuclear warhead, and can currently target Tel Aviv, Riyadh, U.S. bases in Iraq, and the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain.
The Guards’ goal is to be able to deliver a nuclear-tipped missile anywhere in Europe.

I read a quote somewhere, I would give credit where credit is due if I could remember where, but the quote very much sums up the West’s stupidity vis-a-vis Islam – I will paraphrase, Westerners are like sheep trying to persuade wolves to become vegetarians.
The wolves are laughing, saying, ”Look, talking lambchops.”
Irrespective of any factor, develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes is a right of every country in the world. if in the future that technology developed for military purposes, then we should be observant to see the constellation of forces that exist in the world. Nuclear non-proliferation rules should be enforced to all countries around the world and are secured together implementation. So, if we want a world without nuclear weapons so that none should have the right to own nuclear warheads. Conversely, if there are countries that are allowed to have one, then the entire country in the world should be entitled to possess it.
Yeh, right, & we should let psychopaths buy guns just like everyone else & while we’re at it, let pedophiles adopt children. Letting crap Third World dictatorships or Islamic crazies have nuclear technology is a real stupid idea.
By your logic, then, if one person is allowed to own a gun–even a cop or armed forces member–then everyone should be allowed to own a gun.
How’s your lefty logic work on that one?
You are assuming, of course, that the “possessor” of the bomb is rational. Like the author, that is a leap of faith I’m not willing to make. Chamberlain made a similar “leap of faith” and look where it got the world.
I would have to agree with the others who have answered your comment.Additionally, not every nation has a very good track record when it comes to any form of long-term stability. Far too many nations have governments that come and go in relatively short periods of time and most often with a great deal of violence involved in each of those exchanges. Who knows which fanatic and deadly faction could win control in some of these places next.
I never dropped acid in the 60′s… here’s why!

And now you know why we have the problems we have because woolly minded, moral equivalence spouting, Multi Culti MOONBATS just like “subanindro” are actually in position of power all over the Western world.
you really are an idiot…..Iran or the USA…I will take the US in charge everytime
One can only hope that President Obama is working to lead the world in confronting this grave and growing danger.
There is no reason to hope he will do anything.
Conversely, if there are countries that are allowed to have one, then the entire country in the world should be entitled to possess it.
Notwithstanding your admirable translation from whatever language you speak, totalitarian countries – run by fanatics that have been waging war on us for 31 years – should not be allowed to have nuclear weapons, unless we would rather have nuclear devastation than a conventional war. We are going to have jihad in any event- until we wake up and defeat it.
Obama has already done more real damage to al-Qaeda and their Taliban buds than dumbass Bush did during all his years since 9/11. And taking out Hussein removed Iran’s mortal enemy, freeing them up to shift their mischief elsewhere.
2. subanindro
Countries like Iran and N. Korea are isolated in the world already. Iran and N. Korea have nothing to lose. The do not fear sanctions. They wear sanctions on their shoulders like badges of honor. If sanctions do not work, and the current situation proves sanctions do not work, how does one enforce any nuclear rules?
Iran and N. Korea cannot handle the responsibility required in the nuclear club. Pakistan has already proven it cannot handle it either.
Let’s not forget that the leaders of both Iran and North Korea are old and in failing health. I’m sure they would like nothing more than to see their nuclear programs reach completion, detonate their weapons on American soil (or in American airspace), then slip peacefully from this life as they watch the ensuing chaos.
At this point, they literally have nothing to lose.
Some good points in this article, however removing the counterbalance Iraq was providing against Iran was the error.
Some of the stories regarding Mr. Chalabi and others suggest Iran was pulling the wool over the Bush admin eye all along and got exactly what they wanted; Saddam removed from power, Access to Iraq’s petroleum, Iranian moles inside the pentagon, without shedding a drop of blood and earning profit meanwhile.
Lies and bloody nonsense. If he had not been removed Saddam would today also be developing nuclear weapons. And we got not one drop of oil that wasn’t purchased on the open market. The country was unwilling to support Bush and he was therefore only able to solve one of the many problems in the middle east. We will reap the whirlwind for our failure to stand up to evil and face threats as they are not as we pretend they are.
Terry Gain.
I think the U.S. should have removed Saddam & destroyed Iraq’s military, then gone on to Iran to remove the Mullahs, then on to Syria for a quick change of regime or at least, arranged for Israel to take out Syria & Hezbollah in S. Lebanon. Forget the nation-building, forget bringing democracy to the Middle-East. These people will never, ever, be America’s allies no matter what we do.
What a fine example of doublespeak ‘subanindro’ has given us; acting as if there is a total moral equivelency between a nuclear-armed Iran and a nuclear-armed Western democracy. He/she conveiniently ignores Iran’s repeated statements that “Allah’s cleansing fire will fall upon the Zionists” and Iran’s arming of terrorists with missiles. It was the Western democracies (and the only democracy in the Middle East) being armed with nuclear weapons that prevented the dictatorships in Russia and China and the Nazi-inspired dictatorships in the Middle East from going to total war against the West. We are now on the verge of a hideous war that will kill millions of people, because the West has become weak, blind, and blames the victims of aggression instead of the aggressors. And like World War 2, it will be a war that didn’t need to happen, if the West had shown some moral courge and resolve.
My suspicions of ‘subarindo’ are deep he is not what he wants you to think he is just a moonbat he is more than likely a Muslim supporting his ‘brothers’ claims to Nuclear terror to be released against the wicked Jews.
I hate victims who respect their executioners. ~Satre
America had elected its own Trojan Horse!
“And like World War 2, it will be a war that didn’t need to happen, if the West had shown some moral courge and resolve”
the cause for WW2 had little to do with West moral courage;
George Herbert Walker (George W. Bush’s great grandfather): Wall Street banker and director or president of G.H. Walker and Co., J.P. Morgan and Co., Guaranty Trust Co., W.A. Harriman and Co., and Union Banking Corporation.
George Walker Bush made his fortune building up the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany, financing their oil, coal, steel, and manganese industries, among others. As President of Union Banking Corp. (UBC), he laundered money for Hitler and supplied raw materials essential for Germany’s waging World War II. His most prominent partners in financing Hitler’s war machine were Averell Harriman and Prescott Bush. Together, they ran Harriman-Walker, the Hamburg-Amerika Line (a cover for I.G. Farben’s Nazi espionage unit in the U.S.), the American Ship and Commerce Co. (which smuggled German agents, propaganda, and money into America to bribe American politicians to support the Nazi cause), the Harriman Fifteen Corporation, and the Silesian Holding Company.
In addition, their Consolidated Silesian Steel Corporation owned 1/3 of a complex of steel-making, coal-mining, and zinc-mining activities in Germany. (Friederich Flick owned two-thirds and was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment by the Nuremburg Tribunal, but the American partners were never tried). The Nazi army was equipped by Flick, Harriman, Walker, and Bush with materials stolen from Poland. Meanwhile, Soviet army vehicles were fueled by oil pumped from Baku wells revived by the Harriman/Walker/Bush enterprise.
When the U.S. government seized the Silesian-American Corp. in 1942 under the “Trading with the Enemy Act,” George Herbert Walker Bush was the senior director of the company.
The cause for all wars are generally Economic, they make fortunes for the families of war profiteers. WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Iraq….follow the money.
Agreed, Alex. A more egregious example of this:
Vietnam, a country in which over 58,00 American servicemen died is now on the “most favored” nations status for trading. The embargo on Cuba however is still in effect because of the 1996 Helms-Burton act, which continues to punish Cuba for profiting from “stolen” (nationalized) property. This makes the priorities of this nation fairly clear if you read between the lines. The lives of 58,000 American servicemen is worth less than a few billion dollars of corporate property.
How many American soldiers died fighting Germany and Japan?
Are you arguing that America should have no relations, from now till eternity, with any country we have ever fought against?
Alex.
Wouldn’t you say that the same thing is happening today because of the influence of Saudi & other ”Islamic” sources of money? European leaders have done the same thing. And, one could add the Global Warming hoax, a great source of profit to some.
The fact that some people are prostitutes, traitors for financial gain, is nothing new in the world.
Which of the Bushes was it that flew the planes that attacked Pearl Harbor?
Quite clever of them to get Japanese planes, wasn’t it?
@ conservative wanderer: Bush pilots of Pearl Harbor
The US sold them the steel to make the casings
of the bombs they dropped, and the Aircraft Carriers
from which they attacked Pearl; What goes around…
The US Government also treated Imperial Japan with
a mixture of ignorance and arrogance almost as potent
as that our current administration applies to foreign
(and domestic) policy;
We will get the same sort of surprise wake-up call.
What monstrous Left-wing propaganda you spout. What a vile, stinking pile of lies. Alex, you have become diseased with irrational hatred. It is rotting your mind and soul.
The Bush family did not “cause” WW2, and neither did “capitalists”. Nor did “the Bushes” “launder money for Hitler”. What a preposterous assertion. The National Socialists were the Government of of Germany. There was not a intentional business that did business in Europe that did not do business in Germany, particularly in the beginning of the 1930′s.
GWB’s father was a fighter pilot in the Pacific, for heaven;s sake.
The Bush family has served this nation well for generations, and yous that includes GWB.
Stop slandering decent people with your vile lies.
You need to do a little soul searching. While you are at it, you might meditate on the roality of the Democrats who do business with China.
Typical moonbat response ‘Its all BUSHES fault’ LOL and I bet you think the Obamanation is the MESSIAH and our only hope too.
Yeah, complacency. Two wars at a time isn’t enough. Three would be more pro-active.
if you acknowledge the facts you’ll see that the third target nourishes the first & second… leveling a 1:1 split will incapacitate the enemies ability preserve a multifarious endeavor
Oh Screw you “le grouche” — I’d say you’re just a “grouch” but that word is FAR too tame for you.
Terry from Eilat is correct, we should have hit Iran when we had the momentum. In fact there are many documents now which point to the fact that Iran was quaking in their boots after we took Baghdad in a mere 2 months or whatever record time that invasion took! Iran in fact stopped and hid production of their entire nuclear program for fear of exactly this possibility — which they thought a probability — that we were were going to attack.
It’s partially the Bush administration’s fault for not better explaining our war aims. But still, I think had he had just a hair more gumption, he would have had the country behind him and we’d not be facing this truly miserable predicament we are now in.
You know, I remember a few years back, before Obama got elected, when everyone (meaning our European allies) saw that we were not gearing up to attack — well, that’s not quite true, in fact I remember distinctly when Bush was gearing up the country for an attack when the Intelligence Establishment quite consciously pulled the rug out from under him in an act of amazing betrayal. But nevertheless, after that betrayal occurred and it was clear we were not going to attack, I remember all of Europe still resting easy since it was assumed by them that Israel would “do the job” for them. There was a true sense of clam in the Western world for many months — or a year even due to that belief (and it was a well founded belief).
But nobody could ever have predicted the election of a Leftist Rock Star. And with Obama’s election, now even the “stop gap” of Israel “taking care” of Iran has come into serious question. And lo and behold, now Europe (and many people in the US as well) are truly worried!
All because of know-it-alls like yourself who inhabit the Intelligence World and who “decided” that we would not be able to take care of Iran — this after the fastest invasion in the history of war (Iraq)!
“The cause for all wars are generally Economic”
Only if you’re a brain-dead Lefty. One can always tell Leftspeak: it’s all about class warfare. When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. It’s the thinking that will get us all killed.
No, alex, regardless of what your Lefty prof told you, sometimes people go to war because they want power, and sometimes they go to war because they want to enforce their religion on you, and sometimes they go to war because they can’t forgive, and sometimes they go to war because they hate, and sometimes they go to war because they have always gone to war, and sometimes they go to war because they think it’s fun, sometimes they go to war because they have nothing better to do. There are myriad reasons to go to war.
Radical Islam can not abide infidels, and we are infidels.
Sometimes people go to war because they think they can win – whether that is delusional or not.
A tale of a war that need not have happened.
Israel will soon be forced by its lonesome to destroy the nuclear facilities of Iran, then criticized throughout the globe like it was in 1982 for leveling Saddam’s reactors.
While world leaders condemn Israel for “preemptive war” or some other bogus cliche led by the most feckless world leader this side of the U.N. named Obama, in secret these gutless demagogues will be changing their drawers and wiping their brows, as Israel does the world another favor without thanks.
If by chance Israel fails in its mission, expect war as the world has never known – all the big boys in play armed with the capacity to kill millions in a day, and perhaps this time, U.S. soil shares in the consequence of destruction. The masquerading midget in Iran with dreams of the redeemer Mahdi will have completed his mission.
And the U.S. will pay dearly for its reluctance to do what was necessary while it still had the chance, fighting its own battles there and on the home front from the Left – a repeat of the “Progressive” treason during the Iraq War.
Amen Tex. Had I seen your comment first, before I responded to GROUCH up there, I would have merely said, “see Tex Taylor’s response”.” Let’s all pray that like that recent drone fleet, each the size of a Boeing 737(!) … that Israel has yet more aces up her sleeve. And let’s also pray that phenomenal Israel-hating idiots like Zbigniew Brzezinski won’t get his way and Obama will not order the US Military to actually confront the Israeli warplanes on their way to Iran! I think that would rile this country up something awful if Obama did that. At least, I’d like to think so.
Iran this!! Nuclear War that…pipe down all of you! the Jay Leno show is on with tonights special guest The President of the United States along with Lindsay Lohan, Sean Penn and Freckles the Balloon Dog.
Yeah, it’s all make-believe. Go back to drinking your Billy-Carter beer (or whatever it was called).
If we continue down this path of empty threats against Iran, that country will have a bomb in about a year, maybe even less. I just don’t understand the administration’s distaste for launching a massive covert operation to overthrow the mullahs. Even now, with last year’s massive anti-government protests crushed by the mullahs, there is still time and lots we can do covertly to destabilize the current regime. But Obama seems to be doing nothing except placing all of his hopes in these insane UN sanctions that will do nothing to change the situation. Obama is a naiive Wilsonian who is about to be confronted with the distasteful facts only found in the real world, and NOT in the cloistered surroundings of Washington, DC.
And what does Obama and Clinton say to America when Iran finally does get the bomb? Oooops, we should have done something more? I hope they remember their reaction when they see an Israeli or European city disappear in a nuclear fireball. Wow, I guess we should have taken tougher actions against the Iranians, huh? Neville Chamberlain would have been proud of Obama.
A month. They will have a dirty “bomb” in a month. Ironically, the crude radio isotope scatterer “bomb” is a way bigger threat than a super efficient small yield smarter bomb. Guess which type the islamofascists will race to mass produce?
They have russian and chinese delivery systems ready to use. Plus their own palooka brand bottle rockets.
It’s obvious Obama never had to deal with a school yard bully. There’s only one tactic that works: you hit him so hard and hurt him so badly he never wants to touch you again. You can’t talk to a bully or negotiate. A bully only takes that as a sign of weakness and presses for more. Iran is essentially a bully. There is (and ever only was) one way to deal with them: force. The longer it takes us to realize this, the bloodier it’ll be.
It’s certainly about the West’s Complacency, Mr. Kahlili.
But I see it also as more personal than that. All we have to do is look into the mirror. And ask ourselves a question. Are we willing to look totalitarianism in the face and spit in its eye? Or is it so much easier to look the other way? But if we look away long enough, can what we expect to be there when we look back, be gone? Lives can. But can freedom disappear in a flash?
Could one person so right for his times and demonic aims be able to bring down a nation that has stood for individual freedom and personal liberty for more than 200 years? It would be impossible without many, many accomplices. Not all intentional ones. Barack Obama is simply the front man for the current attack on America, which is infinitely more lethal potentially than any Times Square bomb. For it is attack from within.
The tactics are despicable.
Bad mouth the Constitution. Marginalize those who disagree. Executive order (as a verb) free enterprise into oblivion. Weaken our ability to stand guard in a nuclear world. Lie like thieves. All the while, giving Iran the time it needs to grow the bomb and potentially shatter into a million vaporized pieces the dreams and hopes we share for our children and theirs. Oh, Iran might not be the finger that fires the killing shot. But her mindset is lighting the fuse. We can stand idly by and let the world’s safety net slip through freedom’s fingers for only so long.
We can acquiesce and politely disagree for only so long. At a point we go from loyal opposition to soulless enabler. I’m talking about you and me.
“Who, me? If I sign that hair brained schemed Declaration of Independence, I could get myself killed. Leave me out of this.”
Well, two-hundred plus years later the fear is still the same. The argument hasn’t changed.
While Obama, Pelosi, Reid and company are doing their darnest to bring us down, a lot of Obama-belittled Americans are stepping up. Tea Partiers? For sure. They’re the bayonet tip of freedom’s perry while, in the next instant, a verbal punch to the face of tyranny, Obama style.
Obama laughs like a hyena and calls them teabaggers which Jonathan Alter’s new book documents. Ironically, it was just last weekend Obama was in Ann Arbor talking to a commencement class asking for increased civility. I call that being a hypocrite. Obama’s hair is turning gray while bags form under his eyes and his ears appear to be growing more outlandish every day. Plus, I have this urge to call him Pinocchio because he’s causing the Frequent Liars Club to go broke giving away miles by the millions, all as he drives this country down the road of bankruptcy.
Floyd and Mary Beth Brown, writing for Town Hall, on May 7, beautifully described Obama hypocrisy like this. “It’s easy for the president to lecture about the lack of civility in politics, but when his administration is one of the most vicious voices in modern history, those lectures are hypocritical. If Obama really wants to raise the public discourse he ought to start the cleaning in his own White House.”
Can Obama be stopped on this national trip to oblivion? Can we get off the ride? Unfortunately, the time to act is running out.
Who is Rachel Peepers to sound the alarm? Rachel Peepers is a nobody who sometimes says words everything is thinking. She’s born of a belief that this nation is worth nurturing. Worth strengthening. Worth saving. But feeling more of late like a voice in the wilderness, she could keep her secret no longer.
Today, Fran Porretto, administrator of the blog, “Eternity Road” who adopts almost a parental concern for its frequent contributors drew a line in the sand. He wrote an article called, “Flog ‘Em. A Profession of Commitment.” Tom Paine, in this girl’s opinion, pretty much did the same thing years ago. He wrote words that Washington read to the troops at Valley Forge.
Are these also the times that try men’s souls? Is this our “Crisis”? Well, boys and girls, it certainly feels like the real McCoy to lil’ ole’ me.
I invite you to read Porretto’s words over at Eternity Road. Over and over. For me, there was my life before them. And there’s my future after them. I think somehow the future of this nation we love so much is wrapped up in them.
I think people assume that Obama wants to protect us, and I don’t think that’s true. I think it is more important to him that things be “fair” and “equal.” If we have nuclear bomb capacity, so, too, should every other country. Or at the very least, we should give a show of reducing ours, while allowing every other country to gain them.
AND – if millions of people die because of this, oh well. Because his principles (“fairness”) are much more important than people’s lives. You could see this is his mind set when he was confronted during the campaign with the fact that lowering capital gains actually brought more revenue to the government. He said that it was still important to raise them, in the name of “fairness.”
What makes any one think he won’t sacrifice us to his other nutjob ideas? And enjoy it, too. After all, he thinks we are bad and guilty and need to be brought down. He would probably consider our annihilation as simply chickens which have properly come home to roost.
Isn’t it a fascinating thing to see Adolph Hitler and company geting a pass for World War 2, and the Bush family getting the blame? It’s like all the people who blamed Bush the “W” for the Iraqi War, and ignored this guy called Saddam Hussian who had a minor role to play in the troubles of the region…
It’s a revealing look into the moral mindset of seuch people.
If we were going to do anything substantive toward blunting Iran’s ambitions, we would have done it by now. But bold action might cost certain politicians their jobs. So it is gutless ‘leaders’ who will be to blame when the next mushroom cloud rises.
God help us all.
Sanctions against Iran are pathetic and worthless. We are horribly betrayed by Western leaders. This is much more than appeasement to the Mullahs. It has been deliberately allowed to happen. It is complicity!
Israel is the number one top target for nuclear attack. Iran has vowed repeatedly to “wipe Israel off the map”. This fact does not trouble Western leaders. It’s not just Islamo Fascists who want Israel wiped off the map. Blinded by Jew-hate, U.S. leaders ignore that Iran has also vowed to destroy America. And the Free World will indeed, be held hostage by a nuclear Iran.
The hate for Jews by US/EU/UK/UN is so enormous that they demand vulnerable Israel surrender half her tiny land – the military strategic high ground of Judea and Samaria-urgently needed for Israel’s defense, and half her capital city, holy Jerusalem, to PLO/Palestinian Authority Muslim terrorist organization. Muslim terrorist PLO/PA leader, Abbas, financed the massacre of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympic Games.
To enable a Muslim terror state implant, hundreds of thousands of Jews would be ruthlessly rendered homeless; ethnically cleansed from the Jewish homeland, reducing little Israel at mid-section to 9 miles wide, INDEFENSIBLE, Auschwitz borders.
It is clear that the goal of the US/EU/UK/UN is for Israel to suffer either a nuclear holocaust or a conventional holocaust – where Israel is attacked by Muslim terrorist organizations and Arab armies. The dark and terrible hate for Jews never stops. U.S. taxpayers are forced to finance the war against Jews:

Terrorist: ‘U.S. training helped us kill Jews’
“I do not think that the operations of the Palestinian resistance would have been so successful and would have killed more than 1,000 Israelis since 2000 and defeated the Israelis in Gaza without these [American] trainings,” said Yousuf.
“All the methods and techniques that we studied in these trainings, we applied them against the Israelis,” he said.
“We sniped at Israeli settlers and soldiers. We broke into settlements and Israeli army bases and posts. We collected information on the movements of soldiers and settlers. We collected information about the best timing to infiltrate our bombers inside Israel. We used weapons and we produced explosives, and of course the trainings we received from the Americans and the Europeans were a great help to the resistance.”
“I myself received American trainings in Jericho. Together with my Preventative comrades, I received trainings in intelligence methods and military trainings,” he said. “In the intelligence part, we learned collection of information regarding suspected persons, how to follow suspected guys, how to infiltrate organizations and penetrate cells of groups that we were working on and how to prevent attacks and to steal in places.
“On the military level, we received trainings on the use of weapons, all kind of weapons and explosives,” Yousuf said. “We received sniping trainings, work of special units especially as part of what they call the fight against terror. We learned how to put siege, how to break into places where our enemies closed themselves in, how to oppress protest movements, demonstrations and other activities of opposition.
“We also learned to discover agents that Israel tried to plant in our cells,” he said.
“We applied against Israel all that we learned from the Americans.”

Let us all hope and pray that lonely and brave little Israel, has the necessary resources to act quickly and eliminate the nuclear threat to Israel and the Free World.
Please see my interview today on Fox:

I just watched it Reza — EXCELLENT interview. You hit all the key points immediately and clearly. Very nice job. I’ll now follow you on facebook as well as you are clearly a leader in sounding the alarm — and you obviously know that sanctions, in any “traditional sense” are far too little, too late at this point.
Bravo for your insight and courage Reza.
Thank you for your kind words and your friendship on Facebook.
Global politics (nearly all human interactions not involving friends/family, really) can be understood by looking at the power dynamics in the rest of the animal world: Weakness invites aggression. Aggression met with submission/appeasement results in challenge to authority. Challenge to authority results in battle for supremacy. Battle for supremacy results in death of one or more of those competing for supremacy.
In the human world, since those battling for supremacy do not actually fight their own battles, it results in deaths among their requisite civilian populations from which their fighting forces are drawn.
Seems the best answer is to project strength, thus avoiding the contest. We’ve had leaders in the past who understood that. Obama doesn’t due to the chip on his shoulder, placed there by his America-hating mentors throughout his life. We’re screwed, folks. Get ready for WWIII.
There is a nuclear power plant at Bushehr on the Persian Gulf coast near Kuwait, and the nuclear enrichment facilities in Natanz near Esfahan.
Bushehr is an industrial city, with nearly 1 million residents. As many as 70,000 foreign engineers work in the region, which includes a large gas field. Natanz is Iran’s primary enrichment site, north of Esfahan, which also has nuclear research facilities. Esfahan is a world heritage city with a population of 2 million.
Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor has 82 tons of enriched uranium (U235) now loaded into it, according to Israeli and Chinese news reports. The Natanz enrichment facility is operating a full capacity, enriching uranium for use in reactors according to IAEA reports.
According to the Center for Disease Control, the uranium 235 used in nuclear reactors has a half life of 700 million years. As nuclear reactor fuel is used, it turns into uranium 238, which has a half life of 4.5 billion years. These radioactive isotopes are dangerous to health because they emit alpha particles and because they are chemically toxic. When inhaled, they damage lung tissue. When ingested, they damage kidneys and cause cancer in bones and in liver tissues. According to a recent review of medical research, uranium exposure causes babies to be deformed or born dead.
Never in history has it happened that nuclear power plants and nuclear enrichment facilities have been deliberately bombed. Such facilities, everywhere in the world, operate under severe safety conditions because the release of radioactive materials is deadly, immediately and also long after exposure. If the USA or Israel deliberately bomb a fully fueled nuclear power plant or nuclear fuel enrichment facilities, containment will be breached; radioactive elements will be released into the environment. There will be horrific deaths for families in the surrounding vicinity. The Union of Concerned Scientists has estimated 3 million deaths would result in 3 weeks from bombing the nuclear enrichment facilities near Esfahan, and the contamination would cover Afghanistan, Pakistan, all the way to India.
Reactors and enrichment facilities are built of extra strong concrete, often with multiple layers of containment domes, often built underground. Bombing such facilities will require powerful explosives, earth penetrator war heads, maybe nuclear warheads. The explosions will blow the contamination high into the atmosphere. Where will it go is a question that is difficult to predict.
During the January 1991 Gulf War, many oil wells in Kuwait were set afire. According to the US State Department, “black rains were reported in Turkey, and black snow fell in the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains”. The radioactive plumes from bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities would reach the same destinations, in the same weather conditions. But the radioactive plume might go north, into Europe.
The nuclear fallout from bombing Iran will have a half life of 700 million years. That is a duration difficult to comprehend. Jesus Christ was preaching a mere 2 thousand years ago. In the evolution of humans, our earliest ape-like ancestors were walking upright a mere 5 million years ago.
Either nobody understand what they want to happen, or they think themselves immune to the consequences. The planet is not large. What goes around, comes around. Smoke from the Gulf War oil fires went around the world and was detected in South America. Radioactive fallout from bombing a nuclear reactor will also go far, especially considering that it has millions of years to make the trip.
The Persian Gulf nations of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, and Iran have more than half the world’s known oil reserves. The 1981 study by Fetter and Tsipis in Scientific American on “Catastrophic Releases of Radioactivity” estimated that bombing a nuclear reactor would cause 8600 square miles around the reactor to be uninhabitable, depending on which way the wind blows. Bombing the Bushehr reactor will mean half of the world’s oil is instantly inaccessible.
. To accept such insanity by announcing that they successfully bombed a Syrian nuclear reactor, with no ill effects. Also Israels 1981 bombing of the Osiraq nuclear reactor in Iraq. See, it’s easy. Nothing bad happens. But those were both construction sites, not loaded reactors full of tons of enriched uranium.
Once radiation is released, UN resolutions cannot put it back in containment.
If Israeli fighters and tankers can fly over Iraq at will, what does that mean for Iraqi sovereignty as a whole?
So if Israel attacks this will mean a nuclear superpower will have nuked a non-nuclear state that is an NPT signatory , the instigation of this is a state that is not an NPT signatory, that reportedly has over 100 nuclear bombs of its own, and that initiated hostilities with an unprovoked act of military aggression.
The sticking point is Iran’s right to nuclear fuel under the NPT.
Under the U.N. proposal, Iran was to send 2,420 pounds (1,100 kilograms) of low-enriched uranium abroad, where it would be further enriched to 20 percent and converted into fuel rods. The rods, which are needed to power a research reactor, would then be returned to Iran. Sending its low-enriched uranium abroad would leave Iran with insufficient stocks to enrich further to weapons-grade level.
Tehran needs the fuel rods to power a research reactor in the Iranian capital that makes nuclear isotopes needed for medical purposes. Once converted into rods, uranium can no longer be used for making weapons
Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said his country is serious about accepting a deal to have nuclear fuel produced abroad.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said earlier this week that Iran is ready to send uranium abroad for enrichment as demanded by the United Nations. The process can be used to make nuclear reactor fuel as well as bomb-grade material for nuclear arms. Russia and France have offered to do reactor fuel enrichment for Iran.
Brazil and Turkey have offered a promising new proposal for a nuclear fuel deal.

Stratfor, a very reliable intelligence service reports that Iran has already several usable, weaponized nuclear devices to enable it to attack Israel. It is much too late for Israel to launch a preventative attack, for the horse is well outside the barn.
Since locations of these devices are not known, launching an air assault is useless AND JUST MAY TRIGGER A RETALIATORY ATTACK. GIVEN THE MINISCULE SIZE OF ISRAEL SUCH AN ATTACK WOULD CONSTITUTE — GAME OVER.

Nuclear Ban in Middle East – Why not all World?
The world’s major powers are drafting an initiative to ban all weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East. The proposal, involving exploratory talks with Israel, Iran and Arab states, will be a central issue at a major conference. (As was predicted, the Arab countries sought to turn attention to Israel as delegates from 189 countries debated how to stem the spread of nuclear weapons.)
The New York conference brings together more than 150 countries in a month-long effort to repair and update the 1968 nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT) at a time when it is threatening to unravel…
Some officials call the NPT review conference a ”nuclear Copenhagen”. Like the climate summit last December, it demands trade-offs between powerful nations, emerging powers and weaker states. (and will fail to stop the Iranian nuclear program by shifting attention to Israel! Why wouldnt the US and Russia perform the major reduction of their own nuclear arsenals first, not just a cosmetic public spin which involves only the removal of old and obsolete atomic warheads and bombs! Note: The United States alone has a total of 5,113 warheads operationally deployed, kept in active reserve and held in inactive storage.)
&India and Pakistan – all with nuclear arsenals – remain outside the treaty. North Korea withdrew seven years ago and has since been building its own bombs. Iran is suspected of cheating, and the five nuclear powers recognised under the pact are under fire for what non-weapons states see as hypocrisy and the slow pace of disarmament. (Israel still maintains policy of ambiguity in relation to its nuclear capability, but Obama’s administration and others are attempting to strip Israel of its strategic advantage and weaken the Jewish state!)
here is why the west may need a nuclear Iran to start the WW-III
