Well-Meaning or Not, Obama Threatens America
(2) Since taking office, Mr. Obama has serially and crudely insulted our strongest and most faithful allies, such as Great Britain and Israel, while extending “outreach” to virtually every thuggish, repressive, anti-democratic regime on the planet. His repeated threats to establish yet another deadline when Iran violates the last have established only his impotence. Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons, and all Mr. Obama can do is threaten to trot out even more threatening rhetoric.
(3) Mr. Obama’s neophyte involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian “peace process” has served only to destroy it. He tried to force concessions on Israel that even Palestinian President Abbas admitted the Palestinians did not want, destroying any contemporary chance for peace.
(4) Mr. Obama’s statements and policies, across the board, are nothing less than Islamic boosterism. Any president serving as a cheerleader for say, Catholicism, would be rightfully criticized, but a starstruck media and a benumbed public have nothing to say when the head of NASA announces a new, primary mission, handed down from Mr. Obama, to make Muslims feel good about the scientific accomplishments of their ancient ancestors. Of course, since Mr. Obama has impaired NASA’s budget to the point of driving it entirely out of space, ancient Muslim outreach may be all that it can afford to do.
(5) One of the only constants in Mr. Obama’s foreign policy is a reflexive, mindless support for Marxist and/or Islamist despotism. Take the example of Honduras, where a Marxist president attempted to overthrow the Honduran Constitution and install himself as ruler for life. Adhering to the rule of law, the Hondurans threw him out of office and out of the country. Mr. Obama immediately sided with the Marxist, and has personally, and through the State Department, supported him against the Honduran rule of law ever since.
(6) Mr. Obama has appointed avowed Marxists (Van Jones) and worshippers of Communist mass murderers (Anita Dunn) to high-ranking positions in his administration. For any other American president, even contemplating such appointments would be unthinkable. For Mr. Obama, so low have our expectations sunk that it’s almost unremarkable.
(7) Venezuela has taken delivery of some 2,000 Russian man-portable, anti-aircraft missiles. It has entered into an agreement with Iran to build ground-to-ground missile bases in Venezuela, stocked with Iranian missiles capable of carrying nuclear and/or biological warheads that could reach virtually anywhere in America. Mr. Obama has had nothing to say about this, and has apparently done nothing at all to stop it. Did I mention that Mr. Chavez is also going to build a nuclear reactor capable of producing weapons-grade materials? Neither did Mr. Obama.
(8) Mr. Obama has done enormous harm to immigration policy and national security. He has sued Arizona for daring to try to enforce immigration laws that he will not, and surrendered huge portions of the southern United States to terrorists and drug cartels, posting signs warning Americans to stay out of those areas for their own safety.
(9) Mr. Obama and his administration refuse to identify our Islamist enemy, and continue to pursue policies that make Americans far less safe, including trying terrorists in civilian courts and establishing a paralyzing regime of political correctness in every governmental institution. Despite recent speeches by French President Nicolas Sarkozy, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, all acknowledging not only the failure but danger of multicultural political correctness, Mr. Obama shows no sign of abandoning socialist multi-culti orthodoxy.
(10) When the Iranian public rose up against the mullahs, Mr. Obama ignored them, giving lip service to “bearing witness.” When the Egyptian uprising occurred, Mr. Obama flip- flopped, offering support to the protestors one day and to Mr. Mubarak the next. He succeeded only in alienating virtually everyone in the region, giving Islamists a boost by declining to delegitimize the Muslim Brotherhood, and encouraging its involvement in an Egyptian government. In so doing, he convinced the leaders of every Middle Eastern nation that as an enemy, America under Obama is harmless, and as a friend, fickle and treacherous.
(11) Under Eric Holder, Mr. Obama’s Justice Department has pursued blatantly racist and class warfare policies, refusing to pursue — as a matter of internally declared policy — cases where non-blacks are discriminated against in violation of federal law. Mr. Holder has also allowed states to blatantly violate federal law that requires that overseas members of our military receive absentee ballots prior to elections. (Our military members tend to vote overwhelmingly for conservatives.)
(12) While decrying America’s reliance on regimes hostile to American interests for energy, Mr. Obama has cut off domestic exploration and production, actually saying that he wants energy prices to “necessarily skyrocket” to better force socialist policies on the public. He has announced his goal of destroying the coal industry in America. His administration has ignored court orders to issue new drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico and has blatantly doctored scientific evidence — and been caught in the attempt — to support its unsupportable policies.
(13) Mr. Obama rammed through ObamaCare against the wishes of the public, and has continually lied about its contents, effects, costs, and consequences. Even though Great Britain and Canada are beginning to back away from the well-documented daily horrors of socialized medicine, Mr. Obama blindly rushes ahead into that pit of despair. The largest single entitlement program in history, ObamaCare alone will bankrupt the nation. This despite the fact that without considering ObamaCare, Mr. Obama has spent more money — money that we do not have — in only two years in office than every other president combined. He is laboring mightily to make things worse, much worse.
(14) Mr. Obama federalized the entire student loan industry as part of ObamaCare (!) — apparently as prelude to his oft-expressed desire that everyone attend college on the public dime, equally apparently whether they need (or want) to or not. Add to this faulty calculation the bursting of the higher education bubble, fueled by out-of-control loan and tuition costs, and by the fact that a bachelor’s degree no longer guarantees employment or an enhanced yearly wage. Mr. Obama’s actions serve only to further depress the private sector, reducing tax revenues while providing no public benefit.
President Obama is running out of reputable, and reliable, rocks on which to rest his presidency.
ALL of his predecessors had, well, precedent. Him?

But, I haven’t read of any groundswell, despite that mid-term election, that any ANY of the “representatives of the People” are moving to impeach AND REMOVE OBAMA from office. Then jail him for his “crimes against humanity” for his actions on the American Republic, overstepping his Constitutional / Executive mandate.
Congress/House and Senate are full of people in both parties, including Mr. Gingrich, with eyes on the next presidential election and plans to become candidate. As the pressing responsibility to uphold their oaths to defend the Constitution of the USA.
They don’t appear to be very concerned that there is a job to do NOW, and that as GUARDIANS of the American Constitutional Republic the job is theirs. They make speeches, give sound-bites to TV, Youtube and radio, and ask, plead to, Obama to “be nice”. Even as he gives evidence daily that until he and his army are stopped he has every intention to continue his blitzkrieg through the Constitution. To shatter it absolutely.. Stop me if you can, so there : All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty together again.

Mike McDaniel is a bright light in the comprehension of Obama’s motives. Maybe it is necessary to understand his motives before some are willing to act. If that’s the case, don’t just take McDaniel’s word for it, read Holly Swanson’s book, “Set Up & Sold Out,” to see as plain as day why Obama is deliberately ruining the nation. Michael Medved is a fool not to accept this obvious fact. The question he posed, “None of the attacks on Mr. Obama’s intentions offers an even vaguely plausible explanation of how the evil genius, once he has ruined our ‘strength, influence and standard of living,’ hopes to get himself re-elected.” You’ll read in Swanson’s book why these destructive actions by Obama will drive desperate voters to reelect him because they don’t want to have to depend on themselves, they would rather depend on a Nanny state that promises all good things. Problem is, that Nanny state lies just like Obama, just like the Jews thought they were going to work on the farms instead of the gas chambers. Of course, Hitler had been able to register, then confiscate, all the guns “for your protection.” They keep trying that here, you’ll notice.
The concept that Obama is following, exposed by Swanson in her book, was found in 1919 in Germany, consisting of nine Communist Rules for Revolution. Among other steps is: “Corrupt the young; get them away from religion. Get them interested in sex. Make them superficial; destroy their ruggedness.” These steps are essentially completed by now, and it may be too late to save our republic, because the founders agreed that for their new republic to continue to work, citizens must be moral and religious people in order to see the value of work rather than sponging off the rest of the population.
We’re at a critical point right now, as the spongers are close to having a majority. They aren’t smart enough to wonder that if everyone is a sponger, where will the support come from?
Let’s not wait for 2012 to get rid of the alien president, as he can do a lot more damage in another year and a half!

As for my own beliefs, I believe that he will not run for reelection. I think that his hiding of his background will be impossible now. The four years of 10% unemployment, skyrocketing fuel prices, the lack of border controls in the face of states attempting to correct this,… will remove the scales from the press and THEY will go after him hammer and tongs.
I’ve begun to suspect that Praetorian is not the pimply college-age progressive he would so dearly like to be, but is instead an aging “radical” yearning for the heady days of anti-war, anti-American street protest, while hanging out with people who are impressionable and much, much younger.

Hey Sheldon – I agree with all your comments about Medved’s opinions and his loyal devotion for loser McCain. My point about Medved is he is trying to be an O’Reilly double on radio. He is a rating freak, says arrogant things about politicians as well as popular talk show hosts to elicit feedback. Mr. McDaniel’s brilliant, point by point essay, exposes Medved’s lack of conservative principles to gain ratings.
I have tried, unsuccessfully, several times to get past the call screener at the Medved show to ask Michael this one question on air.
Suppose just for one minute that Obama DID want to destroy America as we know it. Considering the limitations of the office of the President, what whould he do differently than he is doing now?

I think what everyone involved is ignoring, on both sides of this discussion, is the possibility that Obama has an idea of what America might become, and he is not trying to destroy that America. He is just trying to get rid of the “problems” with the America that we currently live in, so as to make it into the America his wife can be proud of. He believes that nationalizing the economy and eliminating America’s military power are improvements.

Medved is so typical of the Pubs. There is a reason they are called “the Stupid Party”. Simply put, they are too gentile. They want to talk when it is time to fight. They are afraid of how the Dems will spin whatever they do. They attempt to allow no openings. which means they will not stand up for anything.

I find it extremely difficult to reconcile the frequent assertions of Obama’s high intelligence with his unswerving devotion to his social-fascist convictions and policies. For that reason, I’m of the opinion that his motives are evil ones. But I wouldn’t like him any better, nor be more willing to see him continue in office, were I to conclude that he’s merely an ignorant — but ardent — but benevolent — totalitarian, unable to comprehend why what he’s done and is doing is to the detriment of our country.

Mr. Medved’s opinion about how the GOP should deal with Obama is fatuous and would be feckless if is heeded. The way to deal with Obama is to follow Mr. Gingrich’s hint of a threat of impeachment with clamant, many voiced, demands for IMPEACHMENT! Obama has said often “let me be clear”, well, let us see clearly, he is an enemy of the Constitution and thus, an enemy of the Ameerican people. 2012 is too long to wait, the sooner he is out , the less harm he can do to us.

A MAJORITY followed the American constitutional ‘process’ starting in 2006, listening to a devout anti-American socialist openly and honestly prescribe his envisioned social and political platforms for America. November 2009 the American people voted for the candidate they thought best represented their views and directions for America. The MAJORITY of people elected Obama!
Since, Obama has setforth to do exactly what he campaigned to do if elected.

Lisa…I can appreciate your point. However, we have a constitution that defines the process of electing our politician to include the president. That process was constitutionally carried out by the people. Many didn’t find the election process important enough to vote, while others did which is their constitutionally protected right. Those who chose not to vote have no moral standing to complain. Those who voted in the [majority] voted to elect a Marxist Socialist who did nothing significant to decieve the voters.
Sadly, all to many Americans have shunned their constitutional responsiblilities and become a pitiful lot of fickle-minded folks….or as I have come to identify them….educated morons.

This is an excellent, but abbreviated, summary of the mischief perpetrated by Barack Hussein Obama. No matter who is the GOP standard bearer in 2012, if Obama is re-elected it will be irrefutable evidence of the imbecility of the American electorate.
That he was elected the first time is evidence enough for me. Who and what he is has been blindingly obvious since day one.

I think the obligation is on Obama to prove to us that he is not anti-american. Why should we need to invent scenerios that will somehow justify his behaviour and that of his czars like Van Jones and cabinent members who are blatant socialists and ex communists. This is who he is. He obviously does not hide it or care if we notice. After two years of his behaviour which is increasingly brazen like ignoring court orders to stop interfering with gulf oil drilling or ignoring the fact that a judge voided the Obamacare law in total. Like many citizens we are sick and tired of having our political elites looking at us as if we work to carry out their agenda and not the other way around. So bottom line is who cares what an ass kissing apologists like Medved says. Who cares what the media says too. This guy will go down as the worst president in history and I frankly don’t care if he intended the detruction he created or not.

I spend a lot of time overseas and our allies, in places like Taiwan, have figured out that Obama will not come to their aid against tyrants. Indeed they have figured out he is the friend of their enemy.

I think Medved is really splitting hairs here. Although Obama may not be an evil genius who is intentionally trying to destroy the United States, Obama IS a dedicated European Socialist who’s agenda and economic programs WILL destroy the United States very quickly. As with most Socialists, Obama will never admit that his policies are wrong and that they only destroy countries and never, ever, make them stronger. You only have to look at any social-welfare state in Europe to see that. Don’t believe me? Name me one European country that has actually become MORE of a world power since it became a social welfare state? All you see are former powers in decline, and bankrupt ones at that.
Obama is also ignoring the US Constitution because he is such an ideologue and because he will stop at nothing to implement his socialist agenda. His determination to implement Obamacare even though it is clearly unconstitutional is evidence of that and his recent decision to simply not defend the Defense of Marriage Act (because he unilaterally decided that it was unconstitutional) is even more evidence of that. This man is driven by socialst ideology and he doesn’t care what it does to this country. So, either way, whether he is doing this on purpose or is simply driven by a bad ideology, it will still destroy this country.
Obama’s hell bent for socialism and that’s a fact. The Constitution isn’t worthy because it doesn’t spell out what government is supposed to do for us and the issue of constitutionality is only useful when it can neutralize some bedrock principle of Western civilization.
It’s virtually impossible to see any aspect of what Obama does that is justified by what we might laughingly call a rational desire to strengthen the country (as opposed to the victim constituencies superglued into the Democrat Party firmament). It is possible to see the disdain for the country in these actions, especially when taken together. You can also see it plain as day in the photo of Obama with his hands demurely folded in front of his crotch when even Hillary has her hand over her heart when the national anthem is played. Ditto, his 20-year mentor/acolyte relationship with the Rev. (a “congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA”) Wright. No amount of Medvedian spinification can make that jasper out as a natural-born patriot.

To the question of how can this occupant of the White House (I do not say President because he is illegitimate to be in that office) act in ways inimical to his chances for re-election, he is unconcerned. Why? In the words of Stalin, “It matters not who votes. What matters is who COUNTS the votes.” The George Soros-funded Secretary of State project is underway to install leftwing secretaries of state in key electoral states who will ensure the ‘proper’ outcome to close elections in these states. Eric Holder will deliver the other of the one-two punches in refusing to prosecute election fraud and voter intimidation.
I am convinced that with 2010, we have seen the last of free and fair elections in this country. The soft totalitarianism under which we are now operating will soon be replaced by a union-driven thugocracy which will ensure the outcome of 2012 favorable to the current WH occupant. I live in California and while last November’s results were heartening from a national standpoint, it was devastating to be a Californian, what with the re-election of the Governor (Brown) who actually initiated, 30 years ago, the state worker policies that have brought this state to the verge of collapse. My thoughts are that California is a labratory, used to demonstrate that elections don’t matter anymore because through the power of the unions, the lack of voter verification – either at the polling place or at the Motor-Voter registration place – and the proliferation of ‘easy’ voting techniques like absentee ballots, Stalin’s dictum becomes reality. It worked in California and is coming soon to a state near you.

Mr. McDaniel’s thoughts are a necessary and bracing corrective to this business that involves the evaluation of psychic intentions, which if judged good, somehow confers some kind of absolution on political and policy failure. I fear, more and more, that we live in a republic of idiots who can do nothing more than barely articulate how they feel in a given moment. It seems to me we are losing are capacity to think rationally; to evaluate facts, evidence, and effects, which for the national debate is more than enough to decide which direction to go. I am almost to the point that when I hear someone begin a sentence with the “e-motivating” words of “I feel”, that I shutdown and walk away if I can. In my 34 years of life, I have yet to have a fruitful conversation-one based in factual and psychic reality-that begins with those words.
Adolescent conceptions of feeling, intention, affirmation, and authenticity, are fine enough when you are a teenager, but hardly a sound way to govern or manage anything serious, much less a nation! I think it is fair to say we have seen the death of the grownup, en masse, in contemporary society, and despite the continuing crises that are so obviously in our midst, people are retreating further into fantasy land. Perhaps they think a few more building projects in Rancho Mirage won’t hurt! Mr. Obama and his acolytes, much like a teenage gang, seem impervious to the facts of reality, preferring their ideological, political, and personal authenticity to a program of leadership that shows verifiable success.

But the biggest sticking point is the failure of the MSM who absolutely refuse to print or report anythng about Obama without spinning it to make him appear less than a demigod who can do no wrong. Yes, Obama is devious and stunningly incompetent (whether intentional or not) with the policies he promotes, but without his adoring syncophants in the media how far would have he gotten?
One clear consequence of Presidential malpractice is the loss of respect and influence for the US in a critical part of the world. Over just the last 10 days we have seen this clearly:
* The President spent some 50 precious minutes on the phone with the Palestinian “President” (whose term ran out two years ago), begging and pleading with him to change one word – just one word – in a resolution a stronger President would have derailed from the start. Abbas not only told him “No”, but now is orchestrating a “boycott” against US interests. Yet he has no fear his disrespect of the US will carry a price. (Meanwhile, any goodwill in Israel that might have come from the US veto was undermined by Amb. Rice’s gratuitous slap at Israel following her vote.)
* Off the coast of Somalia, the mighty US navy watched from a distance as two-bit pirates murdered four Americans. They clearly had no fear the US would act against them.
* In the Red Sea, two Iranian warships were determined to traverse the Suez for the first time since 1979 and extend Iran’s influence by “showing the flag” in Syria. The US couldn’t persuade Egypt to block that passage, and that same US Navy, despite the legal right to inspect those ships, simply stood to the side. Iran sees they too can do what they want and the US won’t do a damn thing about it.
Obama feckless “outreach” and disrespect for US values and history has, instead, lead to a world that neither fears nor respects the US.

I don’t think Obama wants to destroy America but it is a fact that this is a man who does not like the story of America and disavows it, the good with the bad and seeks to disconnect us from it in favor of the idea that all people are in fact Michael Jordan who haven’t been given enough playing time.
I see Obama as a man who has little interest in topics that do not have a racial dimension to them and by that I mean a black American agenda of payback with whitey paying the bill. Beyond that, anything or anyone else, Latinos for example or muslims, that can take whitey down a peg is an ally by default.
Obama’s comments about the Gates affair, his 2 decades at the racist Trinity Church, his comments about rural Pennsylvania, his gerrymandering illegal foreign nationals for their demographic presence and vote, his policies at the DOJ all speak to this.
Obama’s lack of interest in the BP oil spill, Israel, Egypt, Iran and Wisconsin all speak further to this notion and his ‘idealism’ shown to be more of the same when it comes to foreign policy; in other words it is non-existent.
Obama is relying on one thing to carry the day for his re-election: he believes that his obvious racism will simply be ignored by his supporters and his blackness protect him in this; it is a certainty that any white presidential candidate who attended a white version of Trinity Church would not only not have been elected President but that that person’s public career would be over.
Since hypocrisy and lack of simple pragmatic observation are hallmarks of the liberal Left in America, his supporters will not waver. One need only look at the events in Wisconsin to see how they would be pilloried if done by Republicans and by this I mean the protesters comments and the Democrats fleeing the state. I love the idea of unions but it is clear that some have evolved into nothing more than a rather polite version of the mafia. It is one thing to push and pull against an employer to further workers rights and another to expect every single tax payer in this nation to foot the bill for a minority; there is already plenty of that with the price of goods passed on to the consumer.
Were I the Republicans, I would stage a one week walkout the next time something big is on the table for the Democrats in Washington. I am loathe to have even more laws interfering in our lives but a law should be put in place where legislators who simply walk out of a session because they oppose a law should be immediate cause for dismissal.
Furthermore, the right for public employees to bargain as a collective should be abolished and any who strike immediately fired. I was not put on this planet to help policemen, firemen, teachers and garbage collectors have a better life and public employment is not winning the lottery. If someone doesn’t like this then stay in the private sector.
I especially loathe socialism when it is used to have me pay for sex changes, educating and housing illegal aliens, financing Planned Parenthood to enable a certain sexual lifestyle, busing the uncaring in the name of osmosis of educational discipline or financing Kenyan elections.
There is a sector of this nation that does need to be destroyed and it is the Dept. of Education, our involvement in the U.N., welfare, free health services, money to Haiti to pay for a brass statue of the last tree on their decrepit half of their island, bailing out criminal banks, the social engineering of the incompetent among us, legal blustering against girl scouts for selling cookies while ignoring illegal aliens and only 1,000 more. Thanks for this list; after reading the Washington Examiner’s series on ‘Who Funds the Democratic Party’, I had thought of him as representing the donors to his career, including Soros, radical enviro groups, big banks, green-energy rent-seekers, etc. It’s apparently much more sinister than the typical Washington corruption; Dinesh D’Sousa’s thoroughly researched book, “The Roots of Obama’s Rage” offers the hypothesis that he hates Western governments (including America) because of colonialism. Seeing Rev. Wright’s televised rant about collective salvation back in 2008, should have caused everyone to question the then-candidate.
In the end, does it matter what is in his head? The actions are all anti-American and more like a dictator than an elected politician. Obama just seized the moment, after decades of our shifting power from Congress to the President. We have a de-facto dictatorship; can we ever regain what we once had?
He cannot be impeached, regardless of what he does, because it would start a civil war, since inner-city blacks would revolt and destroy everything, as evidenced in the Watts riots back in the day. It really doesn’t matter whether The One is an ardent socialist, an ardent Communist, or a kumquat. Or, none of the above.
What matters is that we are dealing with an egotistical narcissist with almost zero contact with the real world throughout his life. Plus, he is surrounded by sycophants who either worship him as the ultimate expression of what they consider to be “perfect”, or who will say anything to stay within the center of power.
The Rasmussen Report polls consistently show that over 85% of what they label the “Political Class” approve of everything The One does. Their definition of the Political Class is basically, “everybody inside the Beltway.” In this environment, there is no actual corrective force to The One’s worldview.
As for that worldview, this is somebody who has gone from academia (where he lied and cheated to get what he wanted) to a law firm (where he worked on his autobiography while others were ordered to do what he was supposed to be doing) to politics (where he lied, cheated, and worked on his second autobiography while voting “Present”). In short, this is someone who has never actually done anything, has never been outside the hothouse culture of the “enlightened elite’”, and who has never suffered any consequences for his myriad shortcomings.
In such a milieu’, it’s very easy to conclude that One is absolutely perfect in every way. And thus that One’s “dreams” are superior to everyone else’s reality.
During the campaign, The One gave an interview in which he said he fully expected to be “corrupted” by the power he would wield as president, but that he also believed he could continue to “do good” with that power, even while he was being corrupted by it. He also stated that he was willing to be a “one-term” President if he could force the U.S. to “change” in doing so.
What we are seeing now is the result of that mindset. Simply put, He is determined to replace the world we know with one more to His liking, and the Devil take the consequences. To anyone.
His “perfect world”, I fear, is one in which Western civilization no longer exists, having been wiped from the face of the Earth for its many “sins”. Its replacement will be a primitivist, almost feudal culture, in which any “philosophy” may run rampant as long as it is mystical in origin, has no contact with reality- and is in no way related to any Judeo-Christian belief system, because He holds them responsible for that hated Western civilization.
The fact that He neither knows nor cares what “The Great Unwashed” think of His grand plans shouldn’t surprise anyone. Messiahs, even self-anointed ones, just can’t be bothered to pay much attention to the wants and needs of common folk. (A certain one born in Nazareth being the only exception I can think of offhand.) The general run of such have more important things on their minds- like, say, destroying an existing culture so they can build a new, shining one on its ruins.

There are two different issues that are conflated. One is whether Obama’s policies and actions, as documented in this article, are destroying the country. The evidence says they are. The other is whether Obama intends his policies to destroy the country. That is the issue that his apologists and Medved focus on.
It is analogous to the question of whether doctors who used bleeding intended to harm their patients. Every so often the procedure had a beneficial effect but for the overwhelming majority of patients it was a nail in their coffins. Should we conclude that because these ignorant physicians had no idea what they were doing they should be let off the hook? If it came to light that a considerable body of professional opinion and evidence damned the practice as quackery, would we not start asking why they were not forbidden to carry on?
Negligence is conduct that creates an objectively unreasonable risk of harm. To act as Obama has done out of conviction and ignorance and to cause harm despite being warned of the impact is to act negligently.

This is what astounds me the most about certain flabby commentators on the Right. How on earth does a proven incompetent like Obama earn the praise of posing a “daunting challenge”? Obama is nothing more than a media creation. The man cannot even deliver a simple sentence without his ‘prompter. He doesn’t know economics, or history, or military affairs, or geopolitics, or Constitutional Law (although he was once trusted to lecture on it, despite the fact that he’d never published a single article in the field), or Science (which could be easily proved by asking him to summarize the basic precepts of the scientific method).

His second step was revealed on September 23, 2009 when Mr. Obama ‘leaked’ a view of his agenda, not to the people he works for, the United States citizenry, but to a group of people salivating over the possibility of their getting their hands on the ‘wealth of a nation’, our Nation.
On September 23, 2009 at 10:10 A.M. EDT President Obama gave a speech to The United Nations General Assembly that committed our Nation’s wealth, resources, culture and life style to ‘saving the world’. The speech is 5,000 words but 26 of those words tell a lot about where he wants to take this country of ours.
“We will integrate more economies into a system of global trade. …And we will set our sights on the eradication of extreme poverty in our time.” That is global poverty he is referring to.
In order to accomplish that objective he must spread the wealth of the US around the globe. In order to carry out that rather larcenous act he must either get the US working person’s buy in (fat chance) or take control of the machine producing the wealth of this Nation by sleight of hand and set about the redistribution via near dictatorial powers supported by his own special group of co-conspirators!

I admire your faith but am at a loss as to what prompts it. The incumbent always has the edge. Couple that with the huge dearth of any reasonable presidential candidates being put forth by the Republican party; all I see is a recipe for a guaranteed return of dear O to the WH for a second term. Also, I have yet to see just what is going to keep most of the people who supported O in 2008 from exercising their lousy judgement yet again when they pull the lever yet again for him in 2012.

I don’t doubt Medved’s sincerity, and most of the numerous conservatives and moderates who swim with him, but the sad truth is that they are victims of an Obama Stockholm Syndrome. They are so determined to be open to a non-white as leader of our country that they are blind to the reality Mr. McDaniel’s article lays out in stark detail. In Medved’s case, he can’t even see the blatant anti-semitism of the entire administration. It’s unbearably sad to see so many Jews so determined to ignore the disease that eats their life away.

I think a lot about the 2012 election and the importance of defeating the current incumbent. The author makes an important distinction, attacking the office holder and not the office.
The 2008 Obama campaign was a virtual conspiracy: sources of his campaign funding, journolists burying stories and attacking opponents and journalists who had not drunk the kool-aid, voter fraud at caucuses in several states and the impact of ACORN, and the “curious” financial meltdown of Sept 2008. With respect to his lying, nothing has changed. He stood on the campaign stage with Ted and Caroline Kennedy on either side and told how his parents met at the march on Selma. He said Ayers was a guy he knew from the neighborhood because their kids went to school together. No one challenged those bits of idiocy, then or now.
Let’s be realistic and assume there are still several groups that will lie and work by any means necessary to get him back in the White House. That’s a given. Opposition research–did the Repubs have anyone working to find out more about this person? The Dems did not hesitate to dispatch 30 attorneys to Alaska, the opposition should not hesitate to have ten times the number working to uncover info on Obama, starting with his legal name and how many passports he holds. Attacking the Pres in a campaign is usually done by the VP on the other team so let’s be sure to select someone who can do this in a way that is effective and not trumped by the frequent playing of the race card. I keep hoping the National Enquirer or Wikileaks will provide some help on some of this (challenging the O-brand) and maybe they will.
I think there are a lot of people just like me who find just about everything about this president unacceptable and they are keeping their powder dry, for now. Regardless of party affiliation, I want a Commander in Chief who is patriotic, understands our history and values America’s allies, favors limited government, and believes in America’s exceptionalism. I hope Obama runs a great campaign and is soundly defeated, relegating him to the dustbin of history, where he belongs.

I think Michael Medved is a good and decent human being. Where he strays from drawing a proper conclusion on this issue, is in ascribing “non-bad intentions” on this administration and its followers, apologists and lackeys. He believes they don’t wish to “hurt” America….their motives are pure.
Let’s take Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright as two extreme examples (and for good reason, since there is evidence that Obama considered them close confidantes for much of his “political growth” adulthood)
Each of them saw a way to make America more to their liking. Ayers by murdering kids in uniform at Ft. Dix and doing a way with 25 million more Americans who were too old, too conservative, too Christian and too white for his liking. Ayers says he is a small c communist. And he and his wife, both guilty as hell and free as birds as university indoctrinators of our youth, believe in their heart of hearts that America would be better as a nation, and we would be better as a people…if we were taken down a peg or two…or ten in the world. They truly believe that.
Wright wanted God to damn America. He hates Jews, Italians, and wanted to impose a payback against whites in general. His America would be James Cone’s “liberation theology”, mixed with Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam. A cocktail of black nationalism, Marxism and Islamic jihad.
Wright believes that America would be a better place if it was “taught a lesson”, given an ass-kicking, slapped around a little bit.
In fact, socialism, Marxism, liberation theology, Islamic jihadism, Nation of Islamism, all have one common thread. Whether uttered from the mouths of Ted Rall, Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Janeane Garafolo, Sean Penn, Spencer Ackerman, Ward Churchill, radical professors at Columbia, Michael Pfleger, …they want America taken down…and rebuilt in their image.
They view America as mean, stupid, ugly, bitter clingers. And they want to clean “that mess” up. They don’t mean to “harm” America…in the sense that by breaking her will to defend herself, she will become just another state in the community of the world.
Medved makes the colossal mistake of asking if Ayers/Wright/Obama are pure in their intentions to “make America better”…and if they truly believe “their way” is the “best way”. This is a man holding a playing card up to his forehead and playing Liar’s Poker Solitaire.
Medved also says that the American people do not see the President as the enemy. He must have been in a coma during Reagan, Nixon and Bush 43 terms. I would throw in Clinton as well for a large group of folks.
We have totally lost respect for the office as a nation. We have even less respect for Congress. That isn’t a good thing, btw. But, it’s true.
Lastly, Medved and others make the mistake of trying to play the game of “define/undefine” the politics of Obama. This is a leftist trap. If you say he is a socialist, the left will give you textbook claptrap about why “technically” socialism is different in this way or that way…and confuse the issue beyond recognition.
Obama has surrounded the whole of his life with far left radicals. He has them as his closest and dearest friends. He confides in them and they confide in him. His inner circle is rife with them. And his policies, decisions, small and large…send out far left signals that his “base” hears loudly and clearly. Some of them wanted to carpe diem. They were disappointed that he didn’t completely put the hammer down PRIOR to the mid-term elections.
They wanted to seize the airwaves, shut down dissent, slander Middle America. Obama is not a front line warrior. He does not like the trenches or getting his own hands dirty.
Medved is right that the leftists have “pure intentions” and “absolute belief” in the righteousness of their cause.
They want to seize America and have already done so in Hollywood, academia and mass media. They have in the unions and at the UN. They have in large parts of our security apparatus. Michael Medved is a good and decent human being. And I hope he wakes up to find an America that he would like to live in. We are losing her and no, the mid-term elections didn’t cure that…not even close.
Two Things on the issue of Barries re-election.
1. You can’t beat somebody with nobody and the current crop of likely Republican candidates are unfortunately nobodies.
2. Barry has the additional advantage of as many as five million phony votes. The big city Democratic machines are cranking up the copy machines as we speak. They don’t plan to lose the WH no matter how many votes are cast and for who they plan to have the most. And they are counting on their pals in the media to look the other way while they do it. Just like every other time.
I used to subscribe to F.M. Hayeks theory that liberals and progressives are honorable and decent people who are simply shortsighted and misguided. Watching this Ivy League Huey Long and his band of Chicago thugs and crony capitalists at work changed my mind. These people know exactly what they are doing. Zero unintended consequences here. Oh, I made the Huey Long connection a long time before George Will.
Mr. Medved reminds me of Orwell’s Winston Smith. Winston also believed a high government official had his best interests at heart.

This leads me to comment #16, by Jersey Prophet: “I am convinced that with 2010, we have seen the last of free and fair elections in this country.” There were some of us who had only half-jokingly speculated early on that there might eventually be some (manufactured?) “crisis” way too valuable to be allowed to go to waste which would result in martial law or something, and thus there would be NO future elections, “free and fair” or otherwise. That might sound over the top, but think about it: Look whose side Obama took in the Honduras situation, as mentioned in Mr. McDaniel’s article, not to mention Hugo Chavez, who was democratically elected, but is now President for Life.
Obama’s acting on purpose with malice aforethought against the United States of America. Even Medved knows it, he just won’t go there.
Now’s the time to face the sad fact that Jeremiah Wright’s hate-filled “G-d Damn America” is a sentiment more widespread here in our country than could have been imagined, and those who share it are solidly behind Obama.

Even this analysis understates the mortal danger that Obama truly is. He has placed both Sotomayor and Kagan on the Supreme court, apparently neither of the two has read a paragraph of the Constitution according to their recent comments and voting records on issues in front of them and so on, the list is sooooooo long now. So bad has his effect been on America, that the collapse of this once great country is now eminent.
These are only a few points in a huge list that is by far the most destructive and egregious set of actions, non-actions and policies ever assembled and manifested by an American President in Americas relatively brief history in the world. I’ve listened to Michael Medved for years and generally enjoy his program. But since he’s gotten on his current kick, I’ve turned him off more and more frequently. To me, the question of whether or not some politician “loves the United States of America” is silly. Actions, not words, are all we have to use as indicators. In O’s case, the data are damning. We may never know his innermost thoughts and feelings. Frankly, I’m not consumed with curiosity about them.

It is important to know how extensive this rot is. Is it as much represented in the RINO GOP establishment as in the actions of George Soros, just not as overt? I don’t really know, but while I was somewhat surprised by Mr Barack Obama’s move to the extreme left as soon as the Inauguration was over, obviously some componets of the Rebulican establishment couldn’t have been this misinformed.
One thing has always stuck in my mind. During the campaign our Republican candidate for President had noticably yellow teeth. So obvious that you could even tell on television. Now if anyone who had a even maginally competent staff was in charge of the McCain campaign for President of the Unite States and their candidate was a 72 year old war hero, don’t you think someone would have pointed out to him that the cosmetic impact alone of the yellow teeth would greatly undercut his campaing against the young and vibrant Democratic candidate. Who orchestated this so called free election and are they just waiting in the wings for us to once again fall for their mind games of deception?
The 2012 Republican ticket should include an African-American candidate, or at least someone from a minority ethnic group. It will be harder for two white men to take the gloves off when facing Obama, for fear of being unfairly branded racists. Whoever runs must run AGGRESSIVELY, much more so than McCain.
Col. Allen West comes to mind as a great choice for VP. For the top of the ticket, I’m thinking Trump, Bolton, Huckabee, or possibly a few others. Huckabee is the ablest politician; Bolton is a tough foreign policy expert; but Trump might be the only one out there with the charisma to beat Obama.
A Trump/West ticket would be hugely charismatic; it would attract votes from minorities; and it would project authority on economic and militaristic issues. Plus it sounds like a fancy hotel.

Remember, the country is roughly 40% conservative, 40% independent, and 20% liberal. Trump/West has a good chance, especially if the country faces even more adversity and uncertainty between now and the election. Both those guys ooze confidence and strength. Obama would look like a boy among men.
This ticket would be in the ring I think, with an insurmountable disadvantage. Unless they are willing to parade associations with professional gangsters which the opponents do and have done with great success, their hands would be tied. And who could/would referee such a match ?
There is evidence of voter fraud favouring candidates of one party only, over many years/decades. Habitual particularly, but not isolated to, political cesspool Chicago, Illinois. To which fraud / manipulation, the official guardians in Law of the integrity of the electoral process in the USA are apparently deaf, dumb and blind. With the best intentions and most prinicpled behaviour what odds would you give for the ticket you propose?

The establishment media will attempt to skewer ANY ticket that opposes Obama. Charismatic candidates have a better chance of transcending media smears.
It’s hard to put odds on any ticket. Its success would depend on the state of the union (and the world) during the campaign, how the candidates perform in debates, the quality and impact of the messaging, and so on.
Part of the calculations include considering who SHOULDN’T run, and why. If one considers other charismatic candidates, Palin’s name tops the list, but she seems far too polarizing. Despite her charm, she probably WOULDN’T transcend intense media smear tactics. What’s worse, she’d respond to every single barb thrown her way. It’s too easy to yank her chain, whereas Obama always rises above the fray, thereby appearing more presidential.
I think Trump/West could capitalize on the combination of anti-Obama citizens desperate to remove him from office, and the vast numbers of people who are easily charmed by celebrities. Don’t underestimate the pervasiveness of “wouldn’t it be a hoot to have Trump as President” sentiment. In an age of reality shows and celebrity worship, Trump is guaranteed millions of votes. Precisely how many is anyone’s guess, but if you add those millions to the millions who listen to Michael Savage (who is promoting Trump’s candidacy and has him on his show regularly), and the millions who are aching to remove Obama for a variety of reasons, including millions who are worried about the economy and world unrest and rising China (Trump’s signature issue), and you realize that Trump/West could be a winning ticket, and a galvanizing one at that.
After seeing West steamroll right over the Cair rep, I’d say anybody who dares call him an Uncle Tom would be immediately, forcefully, and fiercely put in his or her place.
He’d take care of not only the leftist media, but the guilty whites and the racist blacks by clearly stating exactly how they should clean up their collective and individual acts.

The question for folks like Michael Medved, is…can you handle the truth?
We have been so Pavlovian-trained to flinch at “conspiracy theories” and avoid “McCarthyism”…that we drool all over ourselves every time a leftist hurls either epithet.
The point of actual fact is this…if a conspiracy was underfoot, the leftists would call everyone “tinfoil hat” goofs and if radical leftism was plotting, scheming and taking hold…pointing at it would produce a burst of “McCarthyite” screams of faux rage.

Where are you? Evidently I am in that lost fourth. So far the country has held together through Roosevelt, Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Clinton, and GWB, with the tensions you describe at the fore-front.
One problem is that the right as represented here is now crazed, talking as if we are NOW dealing with a socialist and therefore the end is at hand. This is after Roosevelt, then SOCIAL security, Medicare, Medicaid, Clinton trying to get a health care bill and failing, GWB getting the prescription drug plan etc.
I am optimistic enough to think that the lost fourth can hold the other two together, especially once people realize that the problem is China and lack of our producing anything as much as it Obama or the crazy people here.

Guys, I can understand why people think he’s a Muslim, but the facts are that his exposure to Islam in his formative years was measurable, but not minor. But his exposure to anti-Americanism and marxism was constant and overwhelming.
His mother was his first primary influence, and she wasn’t Muslim. His stepfather, WHEN HE WAS 7 TO 9 was Muslim, but little lenin wasn’t even close to the guy. And the exposure came in a country where he didn’t even speak the language. And Barry hardly knew his father, who was an athiest, not a committed Muslim. Barry’s only substantial exposure to Islam came from his college roommates, when 90% of his “philosohpy” of life had already formed.
He definitely has a cultural affinity for Islam but it is far far more likely to result from his deeply ingrained anti-Americanism (from his Mother, grand-parents, and his adolescent communist mentor).
He is no more Muslim than he is Christian. He is certainly an Athiest or an Agnostic. Everyone of his associates is the same. They hate religions of all types because religions provide their adherants social support that is extremely difficult to break down and is a constant challenge to absolute state control.

It is the mystery of iniquity. Leftists just make no sense to a normal thinking values oriented American. Yes they have their base justification for their blatant anti-american actions … that is America is taking an unjust share of the planets resources, destroying the biosphere and living high on the hog while much of the world’s population live in squalor. Though I have always doubted Obama’s “exceptional” intelligence and I thought he was a total narcissist before he defeated Hillary, I never realized the dangers of a somewhat intelligent but totally calculating narcissist until I read McDaniel’s great summary. How was it possible that a decorated Vietnam veteran, a bona fide war hero with years of experience in Washington as a Congressman and Senator from Arizona be that ignorant and complacent regarding an inexperienced opponent whose most strenuous political campaign efforts were directed at hiding his background from the electorate? The Reverend Wright, Rashid Khalidi, Tony Rezco, Bill Ayers, Louis Farakhan, etc., etc., any one of which would have destroyed any Republican contender’s chances in the Primaries.
If you live outside of the bubble that the MSM has created and the Gentry class and the chichi parts of both coasts live in, unlike them you have been able to find out about and to see and evaluate the overwhelming evidence that has been piling up that Obama is a flat our Marxist, a racist, and probably a crypto-Muslim to boot. I think Obama’s attitude has always been that of an outsider. He had none of the childhood experiences that come with growing up in rhe US. In addition, two close maternal influences disliked the United States and probably filled his mind with anti-American drivel. Even when he reached an age when he could choose his own associates, he chose socialists. His job as a ‘community organizer’ was nothing more than teaching people how to rouse the rabble. Many voters went wild about him although they knew nothing of his background. His birthplace is questioned and perhaps his paternity should be. We knew the SAT scores and college grades of George W. Bush and both Gore and Kerry. We can’t even be certain that he attended colleges other than Harvard Law School. Has anyone come forward to cite things they remembered about him when he was in school? Apparently he has no childhood friends. I don’t think there is anything to indicate that he is honorable, He does as he pleases with no regard for the constitution although he was supposed to teach it. No student has ever come forward to my knowledge. He frequently forgets what he has said previously. He lies. His attitude in general is ” Lump it”

It is somewhat the way in which Patrick Henry spoke of what would happen to us if we ratified the Constitution. He was one of the greatest orators in our history, but people decided it was more practical to ratify a Constitution and become a country. Dwight….Though you take a lot of heat and criticism, you, at times, are speaking constitutional wisdom….forgotten or never learned by both sides of todays politics.
By constitutional design the two sides (parties) of both houses, are accepted and intended to be adversarial but then meet in the middle by compromise….or, not move forward, those issues that cannot be settled through comrpomise. The problem since primarily the 60′s forward is that the nations intended [constitutional business] has been put aside for the interests of fundamentally transforming America from it’s traditional constitutional concept to another…ideological concept.
That said, the GOP has spent 50 years systemically compromising to this ideological transformation rather than standing fast on constitutional traditions of managing the nations constitutionally INTENDED business.
It has always been the platforms of the GOP that the people could rely upon to keep America and its federal government constitutionally sound. They have failed miserably over time.
Today there is NO middle ground in the congressional process…thus we are where we are now. The radical ‘minority’ adversarial’s are in command and all we the people have to run the government are two opponents 1) with a hundred year old polished strategy and 2) another opponent who hasn’t a clue how to fight for what, other than swing widly through the air.
The bottomline fact is, that fickle-minded citizens, asleep at the wheel, ‘allowed’ our government and nation to come to where it is….not the government independently! The constitution hasn’t failed traditional American….the people have failed traditional America.

I have tried many times to communicate how I believe that it is something in the evolution of our culture itself which pushes us toward a big government. I am currently reading the account of the Virginia ratifying convention, which was turning out to be the magical ninth one to approve, which if it did would make us a country; nine of thirteen would do it.
But all communication took such a long time. It took days for the news to arrive in Virginia that South Carolina, number eight, had voted yes and whatever happened in Philadelphia or later Washington would take days, if not weeks to be communicated. Now the President gives a speech, or Congress takes a vote and we watch it live, with many blogging on it as it happens. Egypt and Libya rebel, and IMMEDIATELY there will be people on PJM saying that Obama should do something, or he is a commie-loser traitor who hates America because he has not done x, y, or z. We have a huge army and all this power; why doesn’t he DO something? Why doesn’t he use this big standing army (about which Henry warned us) to protect the American way?
The nature of our culture makes it seem that we not only should control events in Libya, but it also seems to many that we are responsible for each other in ways we hardly knew others had one hundred years ago. In such a culture things happen, legislation passes, services are demanded and then rendered which seem unnatural and communistic to many of Patrick Henry’s cultural descendants, hence a lot of what I consider wild talk here.
Go back and read the accounts of what Patrick Henry warned us would happen, despite Madison’s assurances that they wouldn’t. Henry was right in that way, but he was wrong in the larger sense in that progress HAS to happen. We can not re-elect Obama, say that we want to go in a different direction, whatever, but the crazy talk is crazy talk. Patrick Henry, flamboyant as he was, was a lot more rational.

Here’s the only important conclusion! The nation was founded….founded upon a constitution…a constitution in which all citizens pledge an unabated allegiance to by birth right or immigration citizenship….thus, a citizenship ‘DUTY” to ‘DEFEND’ the constitution.
Anybody whose thoughts and writings culminate in actions against or contrary to the constitution are enemies of the State.
One doesn’t have to read all the intellectuals writings or listen to their words to understand the basic tenants of being an American citizen. With all the constitutional freedoms given to American citizens the nation can progress as much as desired so long as it is within the confines of the intent and process of the constitution.
We are, where we are today, because the American citizens and our politicians have systemically and systematically ignored their allegiance to defend the constitution….in addition to attempting to obliterate it.

TT, I am not sure what you think are “intellectual writings;” I am discussing what the conversations were when James Madison and Patrick Henry were going toe-to-toe, arguing whether or not the Constitution should be ratified by the State of Virginia (which also included West Virginia and Kentucky at that time.) Madison said yes; Henry said no. They were looking ahead to what it would be. Obviously, they were in a different place than you and the folks who are looking back at it as a sacred document we have gotten away from. Henry grudgingly accepted its passage, when he was outvoted 97-87, but got assurances that a Bill of Rights would be immediately considered. Critics of the Federalists said that they were providing all these assurances about how certain abuses would not take place, BECAUSE they wanted it passed, not that they were really worried about such things, and if you read the proceedings, you will probably agree.
Anyway, BOTH, for their own reasons claimed that a large standing army was NOT a good thing. The fact that a large standing army eventually was deemed to be necessary makes my point that circumstances and cultures CHANGE, in ways that make strict constructionism often difficult. I could make the case that if Scalia ever had to rule on military related matters, he should take the Founders’ views and ALWAYS rule against the large military. Clearly, we are in a different world now. My larger point would be that just as the military has expanded exponentially, so have many other aspects of the Federal Government. Conservatives tend to accept the former and decry the latter. Why is that?

As a side note, it was interesting to see Patrick Henry criticize the institution of slavery as something which had to be gotten rid of, and many of the rest of these Virginia delegates criticized the Constitution because it said that it would not move to abolish slavery for twenty years. “Too long,” many said.” Of course, we all know how that changed once cotton became King within 20-30 years, and came to be seen as part of the peculiar texture (warp and woof, one might say) of the southern way of life.

We have seen again and again that the Constitution is
being brought up because the people of this great
country see it being destroyed. i.e. Judge Vinson of
Florida made an assertion that the OBAMAcare law was
not constitutional. We, the people, seemed to
understand exactly what he meant by that law. The
OBAMA government has since asked him to clarify it
for them. He has done so and the whole country is
awaiting OBAMA’s reply to that clarification.

says he CANNOT EVER rule against a black person even

I listen to Medved almost every day and I love his show. This has been a continuing disagreement between him and many callers. Though I disagree with his stance (that Obama is just a far-left, big spending liberal), I can’t say that I disagree with his claim that it’s a losing strategy for 2012 for Republicans to be pushing the ‘Obama’s a Marxist/anti-American’ stuff (though that’s what I believe).
The far majority of people are not politically engaged, certainly not to the point of being well educated about the issues and the candidates. 130 million voted in 2008. How many people watch Fox, listen to talk radio or read blogs? A pittance compared to those who will vote.
They get their news from local newscasts and newspapers. Your never going to get these people’s attention long enough for them to understand who and what Obama is. So those Independent types who swing elections get turned off by what to them seems like fringe talk. I’m surrounded everywhere by people like this-family, friends, co-workers. Even people I know who don’t like Obama and are Republicans have no idea of what Obama is really about.
My foremost objective is that Obama be defeated in 2012. Best to stick with Obama being a big government, big spending liberal for the general population. Sadly, the public is either too disinterested or too stupid to understand the truth.

The vast majority of Obama supporters could care less about these facts. Obama is their King doing their will and that’s all they care about. 5. noting that the sentence imposed on Pollard was grossly disproportionate to those imposed on others by US courts for supplying information to a friendly power (normally from two to four years),
6. shocked that most of Pollard’s eight years in prison should have been spent in solitary confinement and underground,
7. astonished that Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, described by one of his Under-Secretaries for Defense as having had ‘an almost visceral dislike of Israel’, should have sent a message to the trial judge, one hour before the sentencing hearing, asking for the stiffest possible sentence commensurate with Pollard’s ‘treasonous’ (sic) behavior,
8. noting however that Mr. Weinberger stated recently that he thought it was time that Mr. Pollard should be released; aware that Christian and Jewish organizations throughout the world have pleaded for the harsh sentence of life imprisonment to be commuted and that Judge Steve Williams wrote, in a dissenting opinion to an appellate court finding, that ‘the government’s conduct in this case resulted in a ‘complete miscarriage of justice’,
1. Urges the US Administration to commute Pollard’s sentence to one of time served and to release him immediately;
2. Calls on EPC to intercede with the US government with this end in view;
3. Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Council, the Commission, EPC and the Government of the United States.
Voted almost unanimously on 16th September 1993.

Quite the contrary! The constitution as settled on was quite genius and as you choses to describe it for us traditional constitutionalist Americans…a sacred document we as patriot AMERICAN citizens are bound by duty to defend. What you fail to recognized is the ‘process’ in which the Founder’s agreed upon constitution gives to the “PEOPLE”, the States and the congress to ammend the “sacred document”.
So, to conclude! Those who chose to ignore the constitution as written and amended…redefine the constitution as written and amended, are enemies of the State. The State being the federal government, the States governments and the American citizens bound to and by the constitution and the defending of it.
Just out of curiosity, if you as an individual were free to amend the Constitution, what would you amend and why?
TT, Off the top of my head, I have no new amendments to propose. The document seems sufficiently general so that its ambiguities can be interpreted to fit the era to which it is applied. There will always be differences of interpretation with the right (with the exception of the vagueness of wartime powers granted the Executive) tending to always want a minimalist interpretation. “Promote the general welfare” leaves a lot of wiggle room for expansion by the left.
To quibble, one might ask for clarification from the Founders for the grammatical, and thereby causal?) relationship between the needs of and for the well regulated militia, and the uninfringeable rights of the people to keep and bear arms, the ambiguity having produced both Miller and Heller. In general the genius of the Constitution is that it has rarely needed amending, but that is because it somehow has been amenable to the growth of the “natural powers” of a powerful government. The Founders would never have used that term, because it would have helped the anti-Federalists kill the whole thing, but both sides knew that that was the 800lb gorilla in the room.
The cage for the 800 lb gorilla fits more like a suit than a cage on our strapping 800 ton Federal Government and restricts more the way a suit does, than a cage does. So if you are defending the Constitution, what do you shoot at?
It could stand to lose a little weight.

cfb, I missed this post. One of the frustrations of this site is having to scroll all the way back of a long thread continually, to see if anything has been added. Does anyone have a way of doing this more quickly? Is there an option where you get informed via email of new responses?
Anyway, your points were in response to mine that we have survived/muddled through some very tough times with ostensibly lefty or government program Presidents. You affirm that this is the most dangerous. Do you recall how it felt to have the world turning communist just after WWII, anchored by a superpower with NUKES and missiles? It drove Robert Welch & Co. to call Eisenhauer the card-carrying commie etc.
I can’t dispute that the ME is a tinderbox, but that does not translate into something like the Cuban missile crisis and what we appeared to be on the brink of. Seriously. Is radical Islam more out of control than communism then? Granted that they have that suicidal jihad fringe but they are not going to conquer us.
All I can think of is that there is a pervasive lefty cultural dominance embodied by Obama, unions, education, and the MSM mixed in with the USUAL screwed-up world situation, a bad recession, China’s rise etc., and somehow the combination of whatever Obama is or can be projected to be makes you guys IRRATIONALLY, er, zealous.
