Ward Churchill is not now and has never been a Native American. He knows that. A.I.M. knows it and has tried exposing Mr. Churchill for what he truly is: a white guy who has problems with authority and women. He looks like a Polish elf.

With left-wing thought the standard of academia, from kindergarten to the university, Ward Churchill and the minions who support him should come as no surprise.

The saying “first, kill all the lawyers” needs to me amended.

Sorry JFP that you are so out of touch. If you want details then the whole TESL program at my university was outsourced. And you need to consider that professors, depending on discipline, get paid radically different salaries. Salary studies for example reveal that COMP SCI profs at the same level as ENG profs make 1.5 to 2 times as much. I’m not getting into a debate regarding market worth, blah, blah, blah, over that. It’s just a fact.

I agree, adjuncts are hopelessly exploited. It’s criminal. I’ve been there too and I appreciate having a full time appointment (note, not tenured appointment–those are actually becoming rarer too–there is no tenure at my university and it is a tier II institution).

I think it would be fair to agree that academics labor under a multitude of conditions. ($45,000 in South Dakota goes way further than in New York or Chicago or Hawaii of California etc etc) Let’s just not lump them all into one homogenous block–as we do righties, lefties etc etc. It is inaccurate and unproductive. Churchill is NOT typical of all academics and some of us are distinctly embarrassed by him and his ilk and DO, despite the comments on this thread, fight against him and his quackery. Perhaps if people here could make alliances…

Re: your reference to Mike Littwin as “the Denver Post’s new liberal columnist.” Mr. Littwin is new to the Post because he was one of the “talent” brought over from the recently deceased Rocky Mountain News, where he produced reliably partisan liberal opinion for years. Take a look at one of his columns, complete with photo, and you’ll see there’s nothing “new” about him: both his hairstyle and his tired politics scream 1974.

Problem is, of course, that until Chief Sh+tting Bull put his made-in-China moccasin in his made-in-Cleveland soupcooler, and got caught out at it…red-handed, (as it were), he was a tenured professor at a reputedly respectable state-subsidized university doling out edumacation to hordes of undergrads.
As such, he was a man of stature and respect in the wonderfully rainbow-colored world of Librulism.
